When you were talking about your tummy tuck I just wanted to give you the biggest hug. Not because I'm sad for you, but because I'm sad for past you who felt she was an endless work in progress. I can relate. I've been up and down in weight over the years and I feel so much better about my body and myself now than I ever did when I was at my lowest weight. I wish I could go back and talk to my younger self and tell her that she has so much more to offer the world than being thin, and so many better things to do with her time than endlessly pursue weight loss. Thank you for sharing your thoughts... looking forward to another video on the topic!

You are so right regarding we are at our youngest today. I have reached 50 and have spent years comparing myself to others, wishing I could be different or better etc etc etc. Life is a work in progress and we do need to be kind to ourselves because we will never get back today. I took a lot of photos last year when I turned 60, which I celebrated with my middle son and husband (2nd and younger than me. Cougar!😳🙄😂)….
I have always felt not as pretty, fit, whatever living at the beach and working there for quite some time around all the younger girls.
At age 61, I am now healthiest and more fit than I have ever been in my life.

Christmas is a very difficult time for me too , I have spent many years on my own Xmas day.. but... it’s just a day hun, a load of hype for 24 hrs . I love that these videos feel like coffee with a dear friend. Fondant us rubbish but cake has its moments (red velvet/ cream cheese frosting is legit). You have been on so many of our journeys as much as we have been here for you and I think that the love and support that flows both ways is amazballs.

I havent been on your channel in a couple years but it always feels like im watching an old friend when you are still talking to us in positive manners and attitudes. Im glad youre still vlogging. Also since ive first subscribed i saw you warm up your meal plate, and for literally every meal for almost 3 years now ive warmed up my plate. It makes such a difference. Thought id share, i love your quirky tips but that ones really stuck with me for so long now!!

Very nice sit down! I used to be “body positive”, hashtag health, and very in shape - compulsively, really. It became my identity. I was talking to my best friend about it after I’ve come out of it and said I think it truly takes more strength to NOT give into those behaviors than it does to do them. Allowing myself to become softer and relaxing more - truly becoming healthier, especially mentally - has arguably been more difficult than being a huge gym rat and strict dieting ever was. BUT it’s worth it. 😊

Like always, watching your videos is therapeutic, I love all of what you've said! 100% relate. 'New Year's Resolutions' aren't the solution to gaining long term health, they've become a way to make money for those in sales (i.e. fitness centers, weight loss supplements, etc.)...the Holiday Season, Christmas time can be very difficult while anxious or depressed and pressured to feel Joy 24/7....The thing about friendships not always working out is 100% real. Some people just aren't compatible but growing apart is also normal-there's no shame in letting a relationship naturally simmer down if that's where it's heading...On a side note, if you're pulled to the Washington, DC area in September (or whenever else), hit me up, you've got a place to stay!

With the holidays coming my work schedule has been so full!! I wish i was able to add a question! But there is always another time!! You are my favorite to watch! I have so much respect for you, because you are honest but you also think of other people. It isnt any of our business to know why relationships didnt work out. That is between them. And to know you care about all angles of the situation is so admirable. You are amazing!!

Christmas is always a bit of a trial as I am a single "old lady" but it becomes easier as time goes on to enjoy it for what it is, eg, having the TV to my selfish self ,eating what I want when I want, getting up when I want and snoozing when I want. It's really just another day in the end.

great video lauren. such great advice re. boundaries. ive started setting my own healthy boundaries in the last Cpl of years. ive recently started a counselling course and we actually are learning a lot of the stuff you were speaking about to protect your mental health.. you would make a great counsellor x

Hey Lauren, thankyou for being so personal with us. I've followed your journey for years now. I was always on the heavier side, I lost around 30lbs and I'm still going but being 21, I can't tap into body positivity. Even though I deal with binge eating, weight fluctuations etc, I recently had a girl try to set me up with her brother and the sole reason why I refused (though I never made it clear) was because of my body.... it makes me sad because I've been wanting to experience a relationship so much, but it literally terrified me to even think of getting close to someone. At the moment I am 20lbs above healthy weight for my height and I still feel like my starting weight....idk everything you said here resonated with me. Id love to hear more about how you were able to get into body positvity, because I really cant :( best wishes, you're beautiful xxx

I have to say my xmas last year was pretty crap being newly single and no matter how many friends and family I had around me I still felt lonely...however finding positivity and my own self worth this xmas will be different still.might be lonely but I'll be in better headspace and that's ok #gratitudecounts xx

I haven't dated anyone for years, I ended the last relationship I had and it wasn't a bad relationship. I can't be bother with the dating sites//apps etc they are just so awful. I think prefer to focus on me, better myself also my life is too busy. I wish I could have a tummy tuck.. after having my daughter many years back no amount of exercising would get my body back, pregnancy stretch my stomach beyond its realms.. worth it though as I have the best daughter, and grandaughter.

If u feel like watching something related to the plant based eating i would suggest documentaries focusing on health and not so much on veganism/vegan diet, those usually don't have any graphic or violent scenes but do have very important info on diet (usually plant based ending up being the most healthy option). Like what the health, C word, game changers etc.. :) Also, this was exactly the video i needed to day, felt less alone drinking my morning coffee and getting ready

We are the wizards of our own life... Just as you said it this time I heard Hagrid all of the sudden: ‘you’re a wizard Harry’.. Random connection, thought it would be fun too share 😉👍😊.. I find Christmas to be hard to, everybody is planning things and I just find it all hard en have to split time between the divorced parents and after my break up I’m definitely even less into Christmas.. Thankfully I have to work ‘1e kerstdag/ 1st Christmas Day ’ and Christmas in the hospital is actually kind of nice.. (In Holland we have 2 Christmas days..). I used to love Xmas but since I had anxiety a couple of years ago and mild depression I struggle throughout the year. But near Xmas when meant to bday all happy I have to fake being happy for family so I don’t ruin it. I struggle to trust people too because quite a few friends and partners have screwed me over. I’m always there for anyone and everyone. Some days I feel so low or fake happy to people xx I have pcos so struggle with my weight Iost 3 stone but put 1 back on and can’t lose it so trying to live with it xxx
