Very informative. My first venture into emulators, etc. Bought this as a gift for the wife who is a retro game fan and I have to figure out the initial setup.
Here's something funny. I ended watching this video and Techdweeb's video on this particular console at least 5 or 6 times LOL. Because, the idea of have over 100,000 games much of which I haven't played is SUPER SUPER cool and EXCITING!! Thus, I had to watch these videos more than 5 or 6 times just to hear about it again and again LOL. It looks like I'm about to have more games than I could play in a lifetime and that's AWESOME!! Anyway, I just bought one and thanks!

Hey man, can you help me out. I wanna play ps2 and Dreamcast, GameCube. Specifically Kuon, Rule of Rose and Eternal Darkness, Fatal Frame. What’s the best value? Or are Roms just the way to go?

I was watching an other video of the more expensive Kinhank X3 console. Someone was also playing cruisin usa on the N64 and it struggled. Not on the X2 here in this video. Weird stuff.

Games that were either modified or created by scratch. All the games come with info descriptions
I bought a similar device from a different company and really struggled to use retroarch properly. I'm technologically challenged mind you, does this console allow you to easily save/load games? My biggest reason for interest is retro RPG games so without save capability it's not worth it to me. Any insight is much appreciated, thank you!

Hi, interesting review. I bought this deal too mainly for the very large list of PS1 games (at least in my 256gb version). Unfortunately all PS1 titles do not have music. Did you notice it too? Is there maybe a way to fix it?
This is a common trick these third party companies use to reduce file sizes so they can use lower size sd cards and make the product cheaper to make.
So, Ps1 was a cd based format with multiple tracks making up the games files. This included The bin file, being usually the first track for all the games data and the music tracks being the subsequent tracks.
Whats happened is the musics been removed from the rom's by the seller/whoever makes these, and they ship to you these lighter files so they are much smaller in file size.
You can't restore the tracks to the game usually as the file type would need converting back to normal and then having the right tracks to add back.
To fix the missing music requires reripping the game from the cd, or downloading the game again from the Internet.

OK yeah, $80 to have a backup and emulator w/ controller of basically every retro game ever is a must-buy for me.
Yeah it's a great deal and even if you decide at some point to upgrade to a gaming pc you can move the roms over onto a sd card or ssd/hdd.

I grew up on cartridge consoles, so having a mostly-working library of them all on demand for $80 seems like a pretty good deal.

Does this console handle Zelda Ocarina of Time/Majoras Mask & Mario Party?
I took a shot and ordered it. It had one Dreamcast game, 1 Sega cd and one Saturn game. Had one 3-DO game that was labeled wrong. The number of games is highly exaggerated as many have suspected. There are other libraries that are better but overall it’s meh. Perhaps for someone that doesn’t have any games and wants to return to some games of their childhood, this unit would not be a bad start especially playing 8 bit and 16 bit systems.

You can it's very easy to map them. Usb receiver wireless controllers with pc compatibility will work

Nah not powerful enough for GameCube you really need a more powerful pc for GameCube. A $150 mini pc can get you into GameCube tho very smoothly

I'm interested in the X2 Pro, a couple of questions though, 1. Does the unit overheat with continuous play for a few hours etc?, and 2. Do the games crash when playing them at all, or are they stable?

Thanks! It gets a little warm but doesn't actually overheat to a point of concern. All games I've tried were stable. Can't speak to every title but I checked many and they were without issues. Thanks for the support by the way!

Like 20fps on Saturn. If you want smooth gameplay you will need at least a 922x gt king

Dumb question but what's the difference between a game stick and a game box besides the extra inputs?
The game sticks tend to lag and freeze up on even sega Genesis games.
So how come a 2 gb android box can play some of these higher end games, but an 8gb quad core mini pc cannot?

Whats the difference between this and the x2 gamestick?
These controllers are no bueno. The analog sticks won't work as they should, they just mimic the dpad and the face buttons, therefore they work as digital only, and there are no L3 nor R3 buttons. The button between select and start won't fix it, it is mapped as an extra facebutton instead of the regular analog function
Agreed they are fine for some games but that's why I say you should upgrade the controllers. You'll get a way better experience in the end. Good controllers don't cost much either.
@@RetroGamingGuy They aren't completely useless, but buyers must be aware as they are easily mistaken for a full ps2 controller. They are fine for older games.
I like the fact they come with usb dongles and you don't have to deal with bluetooth.
