I use bottom IR heater and hot air gun to desolder. Comes out like butter. Bottom ir temp 100c or 120 max. Also use it while wicking to remove residual solder.
Good one and the Older hdmi in my view is much more solid and is easy to desolder and solder due to pins attached through holes with solder. Most nowadays are attached on pads and anchored by leg pins which are liable to detach by users when connecting and removing Hdmi. Can be a pain when pads are lifted.
What temp C* is your heat gun? is that isopropyl alcohol; If so what percentage is your solution? Thanks if you can answer, either way this video was helpful I think.
It sounds like you're talking about an HDMI port that's seen a lot of wear and tear! Is it from one of your repair projects? If you need advice on fixing or replacing it, feel free to ask.

I usually set my heat gun at 380 degrees. A paint thinner is a solvent I use to clean out the flux paste.
where did you get the hdmi port from
From another scrap motherboard. Even it can be repaired if you have another damaged hdmi port.
That HDMI port has experience 3 world wars
