*THIS IS MY OPINION,NO HATE TO ANYONE* I don't think THG series deserve jail to be honest. But it's my opinion, and Katniss is not a Mary Sue (she didn't say Katniss is Mary Sue but many people say she is when she is not ahhh, I think the term Mary Sue is overused) (she was good at archery because she practiced a lot in her hometown, but Peeta was better than her with his social skills and speaking abilities which helped them MANY times). I think there is a certain standard for female protagonist, people always question their personality and ability even more than male protagonist. There are many male protagonist who don't even have a training arc, and they are good at everything. Yet, they aren't called "Mary Sues". I just noticed female authors and female protagonists are held to another standard. Katniss wasn't perfect nor she was trying to be,maybe her physical skills were good but her flaws were her personality and her impulsive nature...she made many stupid decisions and in the end she was just a pawn used by a greater cause. I think THG is a good critique to propaganda and the issues with the Elites. And let's not forget the impact the series had on many protests around the world, even in my country people were mimicking the hand gesture from the series during massive political protests
When I read **that** part in City of Heavenly fire, I was walking home and I *screaming* "NO NO NO-- NOT IN A DAMN CAVE AND PEOPLE'S LIVES AT STAKE" and rubbing my face in frustration. The guard at the gate was terrified

The fact that you didn't elaborate on why After needs to go to jail makes it even better.
I hated ACOTAR. So much.
One of my friends had recommended it cause they knew I liked fantasy genre stuff, and I started out thinking “oh, there’s some cool creatures here, the main character seems like a cool huntress and all, I vibe”. But from there it just spiraled downhill and my asexual self did NOT appreciate not being warned about the rampant smut throughout.
I’m a person who always tries to finish a book, even if I don’t like it, cause there’s always _something_ to gain and I don’t like my time being wasted. Not in this case, barely got halfway thought and was like *nope*.
Can we put the ballad of songbirds and snakes in jail for just being the shittiest prequel ever written?
it is UP there
I only liked the first half-ish of the book
i actually really liked it! it explained a lot of things and i liked how different it was from the original trilogy
the background, the outfit, the editing, is just immaculate!!!
tysm darrel
This editing is my thought process after watching a show or finishing a book that did not _hit_
sksksks JAIL
The G stands for Generator of STAN Twitter memes .
locked n loaded n ready
when you said “let’s hug” i instinctively hugged my phone so please know that my vibez reached you
vibes collected ✅
The algorithm snapped and reminded me that your channel exists on this one, and now I’m catching up on months of your videos that UA-cam decided I wouldn’t care about (UA-cam was wrong).
algorithm really doing me dirty aaa and thank you
Lmao the Shatter Me writing examples had my jaw on my toenails or whatever
And I also read Wuthering Heights way too young, ahh memories
TOENAILS PLLSLSSSS BAFAWFEA
There’s flaws in every YA novel and they are realistically bad... but it’s like Twilight where I hate to love all of them.
Oh, I remember when they reprinted Whutering Highs with the Twilight-style cover (I think some books even had an sticker that said "Bella Swan's favourite novel")... the Twilight haters where soo mad, what a fun times that I'm glad are long over
Hahaha twilight fandom still going strong
@@itsdivyag Twilight fandom even had a renaissance recently, if the thumbnails of some videos I didn't watch are to be believed (and why whouldn't they?)
@@Mario_Angel_Medina All the people who like-cringed at Twilight earlier in their life are now reaching an age where they realise the movies indeed may suck, but they may be the funniest comedy you’ll even watch and now here we are
HAHAHAHA I BOUGHT THE TWILIGHT EDITION OF WUTHERING HEIGHTS because it was only 25 cents. It does have the “Edward and Bella’s Favorite Book” stamp!
Any Sarah j Maas book for having the same “sarcastic women meets rough and tough guy who is equally as hot and sarcastic and then they learn to let their guards downs and fall in love” romance just in different fonts like 10 times in all her books
I just remembered the author of the incest book used to be a famous harry potter fanfic writer who wrote a successful incest harry potter trilogy 😭😭
OMG WHY DID I JUST GLOSS OVER THOSE LINES IN SHATTER ME, that is hilarious.
this is the first video ive ever seen on your channel and im immediately subscribing, this video is so good.
THANKS BESTIE
Wuthering Heights was my favorite book when I was 13! Its dark, macabre, and even better when you've read biographies about the Brontes! It's everything a gothic nerdy teenager (which I very much was) could ever wish for.
‘My stomach is a flimsy crepe’ had me dead🤣 you crack me up gorgeous
The cruel prince also deserves a long jail sentence.
haha thank you sm !!
Divergent deserves JAIL for being boring, uninspiring and the horrible world building. Also the name Four.
the first half of throne of glass was cringy af but the second half deserves the electric chair
💀💀💀
gosh i just absolutely love your theatrics
omg divya i haven't watched your videos for ages. my sincere apologies, but THIS is one hell of a video to come back to
FACTS ONLY HERE. and thank you sm for coming back to my channel :)
At last, somebody mentioned these Wordsworth Classics Covers!!
YEAH WHY R THEY SO BAD
Every single book "yo m the different girl all alone in a dystopia". JAIL. Especially divergent
yeah they all tried to do what hunger games did
Y E S
I love the little duck quack sound after the gates-closed sound, because WHY GOD WHY?
"...as a 35 year old" 🤣
The fact i love the shatter me series and acotar series...
this video breaks my heartttt
Lmaoooo 😂 the chaotic energy is fire 🔥 also I started sweating when you said The Hunger Games. It’s not a perfect series but I’ll protect it with my life 😆 also I lost it with the flat chest joke. You’re hilarious 😂🙌
nah I love the hunger games and thank you!!!
Okay my controversial go directly to jail do not pass go do not collect $200 nominees are Call Me By Your Name (for the creepy as hell age difference and the PEACH SCENE 🤢) and The Book Thief (for metaphors that might as well be straight out of Shatter Me)
I'll never understand why so few people acknowledge how unhygenic and disgusting that peach scene was. Hope they catch a mouth infection from that
THE BOOK THIEF 😭😭😭😭 SUCKS SO BAD 😆😆😆
Fr I read call me by your name when I heard the movie was coming out and the book was BORING and lowkey pedo vibes. Im all for gay rep but this ain't it
BAHAHA I actually loved the book thief when i read it. maybe it needs a reread 🤔
@@itsdivyag yes pls reread and report back because I HATED IT lol
I dont know how many times i've watxh this video, but it never gets old. What about sending Hush Hush to jail for being a Twilight bad copy?
this video was truly a rollercoaster from start to finish. I usually hate rollercoaster but I think I dig it
aaa thank you for staying on the coaster
This is the first video of yours that I’ve watched. Oh my god! I love your personality so much, you’re so much fun to watch. Immediately subscribed.
reading ACOTAR at 12 years old is my villain origin story
I am so sorry for what you went through
SJM needs to stop marketing her books as YA, they should really be aimed at adults considering the content. Younger me did not need TOG and ACOTAR as my first examples of how romance works
I'd like to thank UA-cam recommendations and my love of reading for dropping me off at this beautiful video
Thank you to the algorithm for recommending my stuff finally haha I'm glad you liked it
The main reason for sending shatter me to jail is because of the cover in Spanish that it has, the guy who made that cover is the living representation of the graphic design is my passion
3:20 did she say she's 35?
thank you for teaching me what to avoid ily
ty for being on a channel binge haha
The Name of the Star deserves jail for having a passionate make out session between the MC and the love interest that gets interrupted, and describes the line of spit connecting her mouth to his as they pull away. 13 year old me did not need to read that
This is the first video of yours I watched and it's the one that made me subscribe. Truly the embodiment of comedy here
I have no clue what I just watched but I absolutely loved it
thank you for sticking by g
I just discovered you channel and I literally can't stop watching❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.....very rarily do you find a booktuber named divya 😀😀
Love from india
aaa!! hi from the UK! and thank you i hope you enjoy your time here
35?!!!😮 Did you find The fountain of youth? Are you a vampire? You don't look older than 27
the rewatchability of this video is unparalleled
i saw acotar in the thumbnail and bestiE YES I ALREADY AGREE SOMEONE PLS THROW AWAY THE ENTIRE SERIES
throw past me in the bin for thinking it did no wrong too
the All For The Game trilogy definately deserves jail. the complete lack of logic is baffling
Is this Wuthering Heights Twilight edition? 😂 Cause I've heard from my friend that Bella loved this book. Talk about repackaging. 😂
yeah fr on the cover its like "bella swans fave book" like damn didnt know a FICTIONAL character's fave book could have that much of an influence
Seems to me like Bella read Wuthering Heights like a wholesome romance, which is the exact opposite of what it actually is, judging by her romantic endeavors in the series.
Speaking of trashy design covers I saw the thumbnail and didn't realise this was a new video that was _not_ a "designing * insert book genre * book cover"
this is a compliment to me and also a diss to the book industry wkwkwkwkeke
Pls this vid was PEAK humour and deserved better, it should not be this underrated shxkdjdfgdjf
bless youuu
@@itsdivyag GASP the queen themself
Just found this channel and ......you don't understand, I'm obsessed, I immediately subscribed.
😊💖💖💖 welcome to the family
So glad you included shatter me! It also deserves jail because Juliette is not like other girls. In fact she is the only girl (the twins don’t count) and I want women in my books or else it’s jail
City of bones and the whole series wasnt incest, it gave us an impression that it was when in reality Clary's brother wasn't jace but Jonathon
Jonathan is INLOVE with her which is bad :'0
But they thought they were siblings and still liked each other romanticly. That's the weird thing
oh, no, it was incest all right. have we all forgotten sebastian? that is a phenomenon i will never forget…
The fact you have to explain why it isn't incest in the end is bad. The lack of incest should never need explaining, it should be obvious.
OK, yeah, that's fair for all of them.
Trust me when I say I'm legit ashamed of loving some of these.
No need to be ashamed!
Same girl. But the criticism against them is valid
@@alyssapinon9670 Yes. Yes they are. That's what hurts XD
@@mayadargeon2172 Alexa play “truth hurts” by lizzo
the editing in this video deserves a nobel prize
bestie tysm
the g stands for girll that outfit is amazing
Thaaank you
Facts all of these books deserve jail especially Sara j Maas and Cassandra Clare
They really have a chokehold on a lot of the YA community
Can we all take a moment to remember the whole ‘wingspan’ comparison 😭😳 JAIL 😂😂😂😂
which is this about?
@@itsdivyag In ACOMAF, when they say that Rhys etc ‘s wingspan is indicative of… something else 😭😳😂
CGP textbooks deserve jail for the bad jokes but deserve some time out on parole for getting me through GCSEs
YEAH FR AND AT THE BACK ITS LIKE "HOW TO MAKE TEA" like wow a cookbook and gcse torture all in one
ÖEWKKSJW I STILL ADORE ACOTAR AND RHYSSS I CAN‘T STOP MYSELF
This video made my morning. Love your channel, thank you!
So glad!
Ok imma be honest u right on our violent delights 😭😭 IT DOESNT HIT AS HARD AS THE FIRST ONE ?? IM GONNA GET THE OWLCRATE EDITION BECAUSE IT LOOKS SLIGHTLY BETTER AT LEAST
all of Mackenzi Lee's books deserve jail for catering to all of my interests specifically. How dare you lady, as if I already don't have enough books to finish!
Ok but who are you and why haven't I seen you around before? Your channel, personality, humour are gold 🧚♀️
In my country there's this popular bookstore called whitcoulls and every year people vote for the 100 best books that they put on display and.. And... This year Acotar got 4th 😭😭😭
3:23, You’re 35?!
Or did I hear that wrong.
Either way you look great.
SIS this is the first video of yours I’ve seen and I think I’m in love with you 😂♥️
Also I have no idea what your real accent is but I love a mystery hahaha
Not mortal instruments being my favorite book
Wuthering Heights, I shall rescue you from the gaol! I shall sneak in under the cover of a suitably gothic fog and slip you a fil, hidden in a sombre yet hot-blooded pavlova.
I cringed at that scene but I died laughing when Alec saw them and said "Straight people, why can't they control temselves?"
