It's a great movie but imo it's probably not a movie I'd watch again. Heat for sure is a movie I've watched several times. Also you should check out "son of a gun" by Ewan McGregor and Brenton thwaites. Excellent movie.
Man, the DVDs copy I had been dusting in my shelf for almost 10 years now, just got the chance to watched this last night, didn't realize it was of the most superb movie of Ben Affleck, a great director too he is on this one.
The robbers are completely right in that nobody should EVER risk their lives over a bank's money. It is sickening that the bank would even teach anyone otherwise.
I’ve worked for a bank for over a decade and no bank teaches that….the money is insured by the FDIC, the bank doesn’t care if it’s stolen, because they get reimbursed. They’d be more fearful of a lawsuit by the employee’s family or paying out life insurance premiums……the more you know….
They don't they literally teach people to do as they are told. Even armed security is trained to avoid a gun fight unless necessary. Armed security is more a deterrent. Plus banks have insurance on their money so aren't that concerned with being robbed. Especially considering the FBI catches like 80% of bank robbers
This scene , the bank hiest scene in heat , and the joker bank hiest in the dark night are in a class of their own , just flawless and seemingly effertless .
I think this was Ben’s directorial debut too. Everyone did a fantastic job with this movie, and they nailed the white trash Irish-American vibe they were going for with the crew.
I just watched another video and it was about the Ben Affleck character and he’s actually a very nice guy . He tells you all about his crimes and he don’t hold back about any of it he’s completely honest about all of everything .
There are hidden silent alarm buttons EVERYWHERE. Zero chance someone doesn't hit one as soon as they hit the door. Safe combinations are really hard to put in even during normal circumstances, that was realistic. There is no on site hard drive for cameras, everything is stored remotely and monitored by a security services constantly.
They did a good job filming this. Everything moving fast and your heart pounding with adrenaline. Other than the robber being a "gentleman." Everything is pretty close to reality.
He wasn't being a gentleman. He wanted the lock open as quickly as possible. She was messing up cause she was stressed so he calmed her down so she would open it correctly.
@@schm147 He calmed her down, because he felt bad that they were traumatizing her and he didn't tell his buddies that she was the one who pushed the button that alerted the cops. He had a thing for her the whole time. I've been in that kind of situation during an actual robbery, and the robbers don't care about your well being.
He wasn't being a gentleman. He was being smart. These guys are professionals. He knew if she didn't calm down, she'd never open the safe combo. She was a wreck. Also, just because he's a bank robber doesn't mean he's there to treat her like a piece id shit for no reason. Again, he's a professional And yeah, he didn't want a dead body after the alarm was hit. Because then it's murder. And everyone has to die. Why leave a witness. It's not because he had a thing for her. I'm sure you've been robbed plenty of times by professionals at your bank 😂
This happened to me in 2010! Lady was coaxed to cash my checks by a neighbor of mine, with forged signatures. I lost over 2,000 dollars. They got away with causing me severe suffering from not being able to make my rent and payoff bills. And no they didn't learn a lesson from it.
I’ve seen a lot of bank robbery movies/tv shows and these guys are by far the quickest cleanest smartest and most accurate robbers I’ve seen the way they take control of the room so quickly and destroy all and any evidence via people’s phones the cameras and bleaching all surfaces they’ve been around it’s honestly astonishing but the thing that gave them away was their own skills as one guy worked for the telecommunications business which they found his file on and it was only time til they found his friends but luckily Doug made it out in the end
You should watch the bank robbery scene from “Heat.” Michael Mann had “consultants” on hand for proper weapons handling/training down to how a robbery like that would actually go down. It’s very much suspected that the “Hollywood Shootout” suspects based their final robbery on that scene.

This, Heat, Den of Thieves and Hell or High Water are the big 4 that can never be fucked with. After re-watching a couple of times, Hell or High Water is my absolute favorite now. If you haven’t seen it, watch it....twice
Hell or High Water is an excellent movie indeed.
Point Break
@@YoungGrizzly82 i was just gonna say that. Triple 9 is a decent one. Also The Bank Job with Jason Statham is a good one it's based on a true story
It's a great movie but imo it's probably not a movie I'd watch again. Heat for sure is a movie I've watched several times. Also you should check out "son of a gun" by Ewan McGregor and Brenton thwaites. Excellent movie.
boi youd think theres ten of me
Man, the DVDs copy I had been dusting in my shelf for almost 10 years now, just got the chance to watched this last night, didn't realize it was of the most superb movie of Ben Affleck, a great director too he is on this one.
1:05 "I want everybody's product placement."
The skull masks are my favorite and it causes fear to make bank employees think twice about doing anything.
Great recommendation UA-cam. I really liked this one. Even though its old, still worth it
The robbers are completely right in that nobody should EVER risk their lives over a bank's money.
They never teach that bruh
@@mel_dagator8427
Oh… what’s to stop the managers pocketing some of the unstolen money and reporting that as part of money the thieves stole
Banks don't teach that.
Great movie.
Brilliant cinematography. I'll never get tired of watching it.
I think this was Ben’s directorial debut too. Everyone did a fantastic job with this movie, and they nailed the white trash Irish-American vibe they were going for with the crew.

"Remember this face. Tell the cops. Just remember, I seen yours too."
One of my favorite movies of all time...hands down.
03:32 Quentin Tarantino likes that scene 👍🏻
I just watched another video and it was about the Ben Affleck character and he’s actually a very nice guy . He tells you all about his crimes and he don’t hold back about any of it he’s completely honest about all of everything .
There’s people out there few in between but some people fully understand and accept who they are and don’t care to play the social normity game
I was literally just watching this movie two days ago...and now it pops up on my recommendations 😳
AlxEm3 big brother is watching us all
AlxEm3 your mom popped up in my recommendations
AlxEm3 bro same lol like wtf ?
@AlxEm3: Has this been confirmed ?
There are hidden silent alarm buttons EVERYWHERE. Zero chance someone doesn't hit one as soon as they hit the door. Safe combinations are really hard to put in even during normal circumstances, that was realistic. There is no on site hard drive for cameras, everything is stored remotely and monitored by a security services constantly.
Yeah plus I think only armed transport can open the bank vaults now, and it's done through a remote system.
It's just movie dude....

"I need everyone's blackberries!"
2010 moment.
Triggy bought a new blackberry?
Jeremy was convincing as hell in this movie!!
This was such an underrated movie!
Again, he's a professional
And yeah, he didn't want a dead body after the alarm was hit.
And no they didn't learn a lesson from it.
underrated bank robbery movie, one of my favorites
One of the best bank robberies I’ve seen so far
I’ve seen a lot of bank robbery movies/tv shows and these guys are by far the quickest cleanest smartest and most accurate robbers I’ve seen the way they take control of the room so quickly and destroy all and any evidence via people’s phones the cameras and bleaching all surfaces they’ve been around it’s honestly astonishing but the thing that gave them away was their own skills as one guy worked for the telecommunications business which they found his file on and it was only time til they found his friends but luckily Doug made it out in the end
Heat with BostAn accents.
You should watch the bank robbery scene from “Heat.”
Michael Mann had “consultants” on hand for proper weapons handling/training down to how a robbery like that would actually go down.
It’s very much suspected that the “Hollywood Shootout” suspects based their final robbery on that scene.
@@JohnK-ph3vw I’ve seen Heat it’s one of my favourite films ever made especially that ending damn so much respect and emotion however I still feel that The Town that first bank robbery (from a criminal intelligence side not a cinematic) scene was amazing they bust in take complete control of the room the first guy jumps over the counter stopping a silent alarm being tripped the other heads downstairs gets rid of CCTV cameras by putting them in a microwave they operate really quickly and efficiently and lastly they bleach the whole place out eliminating DNA traces also another thing they wear masks that cover their whole head which means that hair samples can fall on the ground as FBI forensic teams can ID you via hair samples both movies are amazing I love both I can’t pick a favourite because their fucking incredible pieces of story telling and in depth emotion especially Heat though
And he wasn't counting money at 3:13, he was looking for exploding dye pellets.
@@bartholomewprice3221 just another show of intelligence by these guys finding the dye packs although one thing I noticed when one of them puts the CCTV tapes into the microwave to destroy them the FBI still had camera footage of the robbery

What I was trying to illustrate in a roundabout way was that the masks the robbers are wearing are making it very difficult to understand what they are saying. Still, to this day, rewatching this video, it still isn't clear to me what was said at that timestamp.
I never thought I would have to spell this out.
Watch old FBI files episodes, they actually did rob banks like this back in the 80's and 90's. Even in 2009 when this was made you'd be surveilled the whole time, this is a throw back movie
an iconic scene !
The car chase after the second robbery is the best. " Now that's how you drive a fuckin car"
I use to work at a bank, the vaults being timed is legit, however the key he used to open the smaller vault inside the main vault he would need another code to unlock it as well. We just see him turn the lock and it opens, doesn’t quite work like that.
Swagg Surfer what does time lock mean and all that?
Spoiler alert
@@cyclops9750 Time locks are used so that banks can only open the vault at a designated time. One of the countless anti-robbery tactics they use these days.
You use to work in a bank and you didn't have a problem with only one tumbler on the vault and one person having the whole combination?

Having worked at like 12 banks in my life, at least the vault is realistic here. I always laugh when in movies they open the main door and it’s just mountains of bags of cash sitting around.

@@shakilrahman3394 because when they open it the vault isn’t just a giant room with a table in the middle with a massive pile of cash on it like I’ve seen in so many movies and games. Instead it’s in a small safe that you need a key to get into
