We need to normalize old badass actors from20 years ago appearing in movies as older badass characters, even if they’re not doing the action themselves. An older Russel Crowe as a drone operator in a military movie is something I didn’t even know I wanted to see.
He already held a similar position in a movie called Body of Lies 2008.

well the Grenade featured here was the Russian RGD-5, which has 110grams of TNT inside it... nearly double what the US pineapple one has. And he wasn't exactly on 'concrete', he was on a tin roof of what looked like a Sheet-metal extension built around the cave mouth.
the RGD-5 has a nearly 11m blast-range (just form the tnt) and that little metal structure was less than 3 wide.

Well they weren't the hostages these guys are trying to rescue. These are a family of Russian Arms dealer, the father was supposed to be their primary target of elimination but things went South real quick.
The real hostage was a CIA officer in that house.

People complaining that grenades don't destroy concrete structures - you are correct.
But that was a pile of bricks stacked outside a cave. Huge, HUGE difference. They might be decorative. They might stack perfect to make what looks to be a structure. But it's clearly just pieces laid on top of each other.
Who ever produced this movie definitely took the time to hire JTAC's as advisors. Jobe well done.

I hate how movies make grenades into these huge explosions. The best portrayal of grenades going off on a show or movie is in Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia Mac and Charlie Die pt 1 when they’re trying to blow up Dee’s car lol
Its a visual thing to show a grenade going off. I understand why they do it since its become so common in movies. Reality Puff of black smoke is more accurate.

I threw a grenade before and i can tell you that grenade only causes a loud bang and if you are close to it you have higher chance of getting injured then just dying due to shrapnel and there are so many medal of honor recipient that jumped on top of a grenade to save other survived and got injured due to shrapnel

Listen. Is this movie realistic? Certainly not when it comes to military rules and regulations and technicalities. But watching as a civilian who never served? I think it's good entertainment. Drama, action, gorgeous cinematography and sound design, and a mythic approach to showing the heroism and insane skill level of CAG operators (to be honest, I think in reality they probably would have killed everyone in that compound before they could be captured or killed) and the JTAC. It's been a fun movie to rewatch on weekends over the past couple months after a few beers and an edible. I think the film is underrated as a descendant of flicks like Die Hard and Predator - it ain't Saving Private Ryan and it ain't trying to be. If you can turn off the parts of your brain that care about getting all the technicalities correct, I'd argue it's worth the watch. Some nice twists and turns.

Pineapple grenade much more TNT than a smaller US grenade whether or not it would’ve blown the structure up like it did is arguable either way more than likely the man on top of that structure would’ve most likely been hit from some of the shrapnel whether it’s the roof itself or parts of the grenade that would’ve been embedded in his back

This movie is so unrealistic. There should have been incineration and a mushroom cloud from that grenade.
Those three Goons coming out the bunker would not stand a chance in hell against a Fostech Origin 12 Shotgun with a 30 shell Drum Magazine loaded with 00 Buckshot and a Suppressor.
The Fostech Origin 12 puts the AA-12 to shame. The Fostech Origin 12 is the best Combat Shotgun ever conceived.
This film is terrible. I had to turn it off after seeing the mixed shots of the Blackhawk and Huey cut into each other. It was worse than a bad 90's action film.
