      "I want you she's so heavy" in abbey road is pretty hard too, and the screaming part in "i've got a feeling" on let it be is close to the screams and intensity of "helter skelter". not on the same level and it's just a few seconds, but the thing is there.

      Let's face it, the gritty guitar sound was around before that, The Kinks were doing it in 1964 with You really got me and All day and all of the night, Dave Davies slashing an amplifier to create that gritty guitar sound, before The Who or The Beatles, but they are often overlooked, I think Ray Davies is super underrated as a songwriter

      The White Album is a true musician´s / fan´s album. Not for critics or one-dimensional listeners looking for cookie-cutter sameness. There´s a lot of ingenious material on that double-disk. An album, (to me) of nothing but hard rock, or fusion or whatever that doesnt include peaks and valleys and various moods is boring no matter how heavy it is. I love Helter Skelter but an entire double album of like material would be an utter bore.

    • @ManubibiWalsh
      @ManubibiWalsh 11 місяців тому +3

      I love heavy music of all kinds from punk to metal, but an album sounding the same is boring. The White Album has a lot of different sounds, that’s why it’s awesome. Also, heavy music isn’t the only type of music that is good. Just listen to the bass line on For The Benefit of Mr. Kite or Something. They are not hard and heavy songs but they are pure masterclasses in music composition and artistry.

      Imagine a supergroup with paul, and his friends krist and Dave from Nirvana, Jeff Lynne as a backup compositor and producer, joe walsh as a rythm guitarrist, eric as Main guitar, and Ringo or Abe Laboriel as drummers.
      Sorry I was just dreaming :(

    Great live version! Sir Paul in great voice! Only thing missing is Ringo's iconic "I've got blister's on my fingers"! LOL.

    True story : saw Paul at Minute Maid stadium and had seats where he was probably 100 ft away from me. NOT CLOSE ENOUGH . So I suaved my way up to the SECOND ROW with only ONE seat available. To say I didn’t have a voice would be a understatement. Love long Paul. King

    Because this was an official vid uploaded by live 8, I'd like to think that the editing focused more on capturing a cleaner and crisper sound by Macca and the band rather than the screams and hollers of the audience. I'm sure people still went wild upon hearing that song.

      The crowd was loud. What most likely happened was the crowd noises were muted so us internet people could listen to it well. I had a friend that went to that same concert and he had stated that it was so loud he couldn’t even hear Paul singing
