Hey so Dragon Age the Veilguard just came out. Think there will me a dlss enabler mod too? If you could post a video if it works that would be awesome.
Thanks for this guide, it really helped for sure. You deserve all the praise. The limiter in wukong itself doesn’t seem to work and the steamOS limiter just introduces a lot of latency. Can you confirm on your end as well?

Nice vid! However, what is the benefit using this dlss mod over the implemented fsr solution in game directly? I assume the mod also uses fsr in the background?
I'm guessing you didn't watch the video as I compared the built in fsr+FG and the dlss+FG mod early on in the video 😂 the built in one doesn't get you 60 fps even if you set the lowest settings. You should try it.
@@GrownUpGamingGUGhehe, I saw the video and a lot of your others with dlss mods too. I was just wondering how this can be? but I found the answer. wukong only has built-in fsr 3.0 and the mod uses fsr 3.1 for „dlss“. this would explain the better image. Still wondering why you do not have more fps with the built in frame gen. I saw other steam deck videos with 50-60 fps for wukong using the built in fg. maybe they have the oled model.
Thanks very much. This mod greatly improve the performance of the game. But I was wondering why the bulit-in fsr do not works like this. I thought it is also fsr 3 and should have similar effect.
thank, i can confirm it works and boosted peformance, do you think it should also work on legion go too in windows? ive tried but say i need to enable hardware schedule
It also works on legion go but since the screen is bigger, the flaws are more noticeable. And the legion go can run the game pretty well by itself so I rather just play with better graphics fidelity on legion go. The steam deck really needs the help.
Vulkan support is still under development. Some Vulkan games may or may not work until the final release on Nexus, ie support for Doom Eternal (upscaling only) will be added in BETA 12, No Man's Sky (upscaling + frame generation) works for now only on GTX and RTX GPUs, etc... Baldurs Gate 3 hasn't been tested at all yet.
@@aargoth82 I see. Any idea if the dev teams have plans for bg3? I hear patch 7 has some performance Improvements especially in act 3 . But with frame gen it will be perfect for it. Since the game is turn based I don't mind the input latency at all
Hi, if anyone of you is using steam oled and having issues with screen flickering or ghosting around the screen edges. It's because you can't get 1280x720 resolution in the display option. To fix that is very simple. Before launching the game at the settings on the steam menu change the display from native to 1280x720 p and check the box Set resolution for internal and external display. That fixed the screen flickering ghosting issue completely. No need to do anything else and follow the guide exactly by making sure you pick the correct beta 11 or 12 of the dlss mode otherwise it won't work for you.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG that's an unfortunate. I believe this issue is caused by the refresh rate of the screen. Where on your lcd steam deck you didn't have to change the native resolution. Unlike the oled model. So you can try tinkering the resolution of the screen or changing its refresh rate until the flickering/ghosting is gone. While we are on legion go page. I would highly recommend you to look into bazzite OS. Been seeing a lot of good reviews about it. But never had the chance to try it as I don't have rog ally or legion go handheld
ua-cam.com/video/sEUK1uFBm4c/v-deo.html yes I love bazzite on legion go. And I also got fixed the flickering on legion go, had to add desktop resolution to 720p or 1080p. Thanks 👍
Thanks bro. I tried it last night but the input latency is what made me keeping the FG OFF. Keeping it locked at 40 FPS currently on OLED Deck. My only hope is to find a way to make it stable 45 FPS at the very least.
Don't limit frame rate as that causes input latency. Try restarting the steam deck if you have crashes. I game 30-60 minute session and have no crashing. I'm not sure if it will crash if I play longer but I don't have the luxury to game that long 😂
@@GrownUpGamingGUG Bro my bad... I thought it's to turn off frame limit on the game settings. I just tried disabling the frame limit on the deck settings and the delay's gone! You're a life saver. Thank you.

Just to be curious if i install this mod on my 3070ti laptop …is it worth it?like fsr and fg works now…but there is input lag. So my real question is how is the inputlag with the mod compared to enable fsr in game with FGen
ua-cam.com/video/XdVnUu4EQ8s/v-deo.html yes it should work the same, for starfield I've installed a paid mod way back and that worked so this free one should work the same.
thanks! great video, just following below questions: 1. which one should i choose when pressing PLAY whether play normal or compatibility mode? 2. I used this Mod in chapter 2, however there were some tiny blue glitter/pixel occurred, was that normal for the mods? 3. Further, heatsink was much louder compare without mod, again, was it normal for the mods? however, the FPS was great, much better than without Mod. tks!
Thanks for the comment and support. 1. I use normal mode. 2. Set textures to low to fix the blue artifacts issue. 3. This mod doesn't overclock anything or make any changes to hardware, so it's just pushing your steam deck to the limit it was designed to.
Firstly, this is a great and very helpful step by step guide, wish more tutorials were as explained, however i have tried this twice on my deck following it to a T and I don’t get the option of DLSS. The first time I tried it there was a notification when I installed proton tricks to copy a command line of code to somewhere but also the option to skip that and continue anyway which I did. Any ideas if that is what is preventing me from getting the end result? Any help would be greatly appreciated 🤞🏻

Will this work with Street Fighter 6 and Monster Hunter Rise, and if so, where would I put the DLSS files? It's "common" contents are different from Black Myth. Does those games running on the RE Engine matter?
I played a bit of chapter 2 on steam deck, no issues with this mod on, but the blue squares artifacts did pop up in this chapter so I had to turn the textures to low to fix it. However I did complete most of chapter 2 on legion go 😅
I was playing Baldurs Gate 3 on my Steam Deck on a 2k monitor via the Dock (had to play via desktop mode as BD3 doesn't allow you to change the resolution when your in the default Deck UI). BD3 has a DLSS setting already but turned off by default. I got good performance with medium'ish graphics at a 2k resolution when I enable DLSS 2.0 and set the game resolution at 1080p.
Thank you for the amazing guide! I followed every step and got the game launched with DLSS (I turned off frame generation). However when I try to switch maps or load something it got stuck and I had to reboot the game, which does not happen with frame generation on. Is there any way to solve the issue😢? I prefer playing with no frame generation cuz it is more responsive

@@DuaneMathes prerequisite is the game needs to have dx12 and dlss2/dlss3 native support.
Thanks for the reply I appreciate you taking time out to help. I’m on OS 3.5.19, I’m considering uninstalling and reinstalling Wukong and going through the process again or is that a bit excessive? It’s hard to say where I might have missed something as I followed your video and completed the steps on my steam deck as I went pausing the video at times to make sure I was at the same stage as you. Thanks again your content is first class.
@@phunkkpunk if you're confident you did everything correctly, then I guess starting fresh is the best option. Good luck 🤞

@@phunkkpunkgood thing you found the issue before starting from scratch again.
Hey so Dragon Age the Veilguard just came out. Think there will me a dlss enabler mod too? If you could post a video if it works that would be awesome.
I'll try
@@GrownUpGamingGUG Thank you! You are always of help!
Yo that map mod is goated. Also this might be the first first game i purchase but I don't support Denuvo
Yes the map mod is pretty cool and it's great to support this game 👍
Thanks for this guide, it really helped for sure. You deserve all the praise. If I can ask a few questions .
- whenever I change the quality settings there seems to be a blue ghosting effect in the environment, have you noticed this?
- you also can’t set a frame limit through the settings or STEAMOS. The limiter in wukong itself doesn’t seem to work and the steamOS limiter just introduces a lot of latency. Can you confirm on your end as well?
I haven't seen the blue squares but some people mentioned that, I will do more testing. Don't limit frame rate as it will cause input latency.
blue ghosting effect, yes, I think becasue, I have this mod at same time, BMWK - SPF, and I clean de shader and compadata, no effect, no choice I reinstall all, and it works now
@@dongzn1986 how did you fix it? Reinstall the game?
@@GrownUpGamingGUG Yes, all reinstall from Zero, I hope there's another way 😂

@@supen1898 the mod uses the latest FSR 3.1 + FG, maybe the built in one isn't or bad implementation? I'm not really sure, just a guess.
thank, i can confirm it works and boosted peformance, do you think it should also work on legion go too in windows? ive tried but say i need to enable hardware schedule
It also works on legion go but since the screen is bigger, the flaws are more noticeable. And the legion go can run the game pretty well by itself so I rather just play with better graphics fidelity on legion go. The steam deck really needs the help.
Nice share man.
Thanks 👍
wow, thanks you such. I gotta hv a try
Enjoy 😊
Good works ❤
Thank you! Cheers! 🥂
awesome video buddy. with dlss enabler 3.01 beta 11 it says it has support for vulkan. i think it means it should work with bg3 right?
I'm not sure, need to check it.
Since the game is turn based I don't mind the input latency at all
@@fieryfirevivin he is the developer of dlss enabler mod so you've go the right guy to ask :)
@@GrownUpGamingGUG wooow. Amazing. Bro I hope he supports bg3 .
No need to do anything else and follow the guide exactly by making sure you pick the correct beta 11 or 12 of the dlss mode otherwise it won't work for you.
thanks for sharing! :)
@@GrownUpGamingGUG and thank you for creating these videos. Glad to help. You deserve the best 🫵👍
Tried it, works perfectly on the steam deck. I'm trying to fix it for legion go too but not working yet.
Also my game crashed several times using the DLSS mod
Don't limit frame rate as that causes input latency. Try restarting the steam deck if you have crashes. I game 30-60 minute session and have no crashing. I'm not sure if it will crash if I play longer but I don't have the luxury to game that long 😂
@@GrownUpGamingGUG Bro my bad... I thought it's to turn off frame limit on the game settings. I just tried disabling the frame limit on the deck settings and the delay's gone! You're a life saver. Thank you.
Is this possible to do on every AAA games out there? Same method (copy the dlss enabler to game folder, replacing nvngx.dll, then set a command on launch option?)
@@efratagung2440 the prerequisite is the game needs to be dx12 and have dlss2/dlss3 support natively.

@@GrownUpGamingGUG awesome! thanks a lot!
Do you experience performance issue on chapter 2? It works wonderfully well on chapter one, but there’s a heavy stutter while fighting boss on chapter 2 makes it, really hard to play
I played most of chapter 2 on legion go. Are you sure you did limit tdp or CPU/GPU clocks? Or try lowering the resolution scaling.
I'm new to making any tweaks or mods on the Steam Deck OLED. I recently finally installed cryoutilities and tried the 4GB VRAM boost adjustment and saw a great performance boost for Black Myth Wukong. Upper 50s to 60fps with FSR and frame gen on, low settings, 60hz locked at the system level. If you've compared the two, would you say DLSS mod is better than cryoutilities VRAM adjustment for this game and others?
They go hand in hand and work differently so no need to compare, just use them together.
@@GrownUpGamingGUGhi sir how can i get this 4gm vram boost?
@@cm_brln3972 go into bios settings. Hold the vol+ button while power on the steam deck.

great video, thank you very much. I only have one question though, I followed all the steps and unlocked DLSS in the settings but if I set the texture quality to medium the ground fills with blue squares. Is this normal or did I do something wrong?
So the blue squares only appear if you set the textures to medium?

Does it need to be running a certain compatibility mode because my frame rate is better but I’m getting a lot of on screen glitches
I'm not using compatibility mode.
Awesome video! How’s the input lag btw?
I don't notice any input lag. Just make sure you don't limit frame rate as that will cause input lag.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG thanks! My Protontricks stuck at editing registry, the whole desktop froze and I cannot interact with any icons...

Just to be curious if i install this mod on my 3070ti laptop …is it worth it?like fsr and fg works now…but there is input lag. So my real question is how is the inputlag with the mod compared to enable fsr in game with FGen
There's input latency only if you limit the frame rate.
Will this mod work on other games? Like Space Marine 2?
Works on games that support dx12 and dlss2/dlss3 natively.
Would this mod work with Starfield? Looks like it’s way better than in game FSR
ua-cam.com/video/XdVnUu4EQ8s/v-deo.html yes it should work the same, for starfield I've installed a paid mod way back and that worked so this free one should work the same.
thanks! great video, just following below questions:
1. which one should i choose when pressing PLAY whether play normal or compatibility mode?
@@GrownUpGamingGUGthanks so much!!
@@Hkeem08 you're welcome 😁
Firstly, this is a great and very helpful step by step guide, wish more tutorials were as explained, however i have tried this twice on my deck following it to a T and I don’t get the option of DLSS. The first time I tried it there was a notification when I installed proton tricks to copy a command line of code to somewhere but also the option to skip that and continue anyway which I did. Any ideas if that is what is preventing me from getting the end result? Any help would be greatly appreciated 🤞🏻
If you followed to the t already I don't have any idea. What steamOS are you on? Mind listing out the steps you did, maybe I can spot any differences.
I am guessing you have the OLED model?
@@RizzlyricistGaming nope, OG 64gb model.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG Awesome. Ray Tracing seems to be grayed out on the LCD models (the one I have). I'm still tinkering to see if there's any code to enable it. Awesome video man.
Even if ray tracing were an option, I would enable it on the steam deck. It will tank the performance.
Do you know if this mod would work for the First Descendant? With everything in low and FSR2 it looks pretty bad, maybe with DLSS it would look better. Thanks!
@@kotta8kritter haven't tried that game yet unfortunately
I’m gonna try this, any issues with frame drops??
There will be drops. It's not stable 60 fps.
Will this work with Street Fighter 6 and Monster Hunter Rise, and if so, where would I put the DLSS files? It's "common" contents are different from Black Myth. Does those games running on the RE Engine matter?
The game needs to have dx12 and dlss2/dlss3 natively for this mod to work.
Nice
It's amazing 🤩
Alot people saying chapter 2 is unplayable. Whats your experience on that?
You used this mod to enable DLSS on bg3?
@@GrownUpGamingGUG Sorry correction,I used AMD FSR 2.2 on performance. BD3 has a setting for Nvidia DLSS, AMD FSR 1.0 and AMD FSR 2.2.
But on steam deck the dlss option isn't available without a mod right?
Thank you for the amazing guide! I followed every step and got the game launched with DLSS (I turned off frame generation). However when I try to switch maps or load something it got stuck and I had to reboot the game, which does not happen with frame generation on. Is there any way to solve the issue😢? I prefer playing with no frame generation cuz it is more responsive
@@harrysun23w I play sometimes with FG off but I don't encounter the crashes you're talking about. Maybe once in awhile but not frequently.

Yeah, who thought 60 fps was possible for this game on steam deck?
How does the game look´s like, if you take 30 fps frame limit and tweak a litle bit with graphics settings? Stable 30 and good looking? is it possible with dlss mod?
if you limit fps then you will have input latency. this is for people who want more fluid gameplay.
