    Great video and love the look of the krait but the baffles on the end of the shroud look different colours!?

    Great review! Torn between this and the Katran. Is the Krait noticeably quieter with that shroud compared to the Katran?

      Hiya, in sub12 the Krait is a very quiet rifle, the larger diameter shroud makes it quieter than the Katrans but they are very different rifles with one being a tactical sporter whilst the other is a bullpup, the best advice I can give you is to pop along to the YSS in September as you can shoulder all of the AirMaks range and my friends from Rochdale rifle club will have examples on their live fire range that you can actually shoot 👍

    Do you make plugs for the katran? For mor shots. Saw a video and directed us to you. Thanks

    You cannot use slugs in sub 12 because they need at least 950-1000 fpe speed. They are designed for long-range hunting. 100 meters and above, and at least 30 joule weapons are required. or the FAC version from Krait, which is 30 joules in .177.. I also have the FAC version with a 400 mm barrel in .177 caliber.🙃

    Nice review Chris!
    Any reason why you would think the L would be more accurate than the normal?
    Would the shorter barrel shoot worse?

    • @AirMaksarmsUK
      @AirMaksarmsUK  Рік тому +1

      Honestly, at sub 12, I suspect the difference is psychological, the same 400mm and 520mm barrels are used in the Caiman rifles, I once put 10 pellets inside a 5p sized hole at 55 yards using a Caiman 400mm barrel so I KNOW the gun is accurate, but I always prefer the X (520mm)
      Conversely with my 400mm Krait .22 the other month I was knocking a can around the range floor for fun at 50 yards, doesnt sound impressive until I mention I was free standing.... did not think I could shoot that well, but the gun certainly could!

    Why is the regulator pressure showing zero on the pressure gauge?

    • @AirMaksarmsUK
      @AirMaksarmsUK  5 місяців тому

      The PIP was filmed weeks earlier, before I had actually set the rifle up, I just put it in during editing to fill the space as otherwise there was not a lot happening in that corner, you will notice the cheek piece and grip are the original black in that where I had swapped to Blue by the time I did the pellet testing

    • @MrRockstar1968
      @MrRockstar1968 5 місяців тому

      @@AirMaksarmsUK I hadn't noticed the difference in the cheekpiece. So it the Krait pellet fussy or do the majority of pellet brands and weights get reasonable groups or are some groups scattered far and widespread?

    What is the plenum gauge for please explain fully

    • @AirMaksarmsUK
      @AirMaksarmsUK  27 днів тому +1

      Hello, The plenum gauge allows you to monitor the plenum pressure, this is useful during initial set up and after servicing, it also allows you to log details when trying different tunes to better analyse your data

      Hi, Yes you should be able to achieve that, I only briefly tested an FAC unit but was able to get 49 ft lbs, so with different ammunition and settings, 50 seems quite achievable

    Whats ghe main differdnce with krait and katran? Price wise its a big difference. Is it worth the investment to get the krait?

    • @AirMaksarmsUK
      @AirMaksarmsUK  Рік тому +1

      The Krait is a fully adjustable Bullpup rifle with tunable Regulator and valve system, the Katran is a standard sporter rifle without the tuner elements, the additional complexity of those tuner parts makes up the bulk of the cost differences, however ergonomically the biggest change is bullpup versus standard rifle, this makes them very very different rifles and not really directly comparable, The Caiman is a fellow Bullpup so a better comparison for the Krait, that uses a cylinder instead of a CF bottle and foregoes the tuner elements for reduced complexity and reduced price.

      @@AirMaksarmsUK awesome explanation. Much thanks! With the upgradded bottle, laminated handle,and cartridges the price comes close to the crait. Why are people so into the katran. Is it that much acurate and fun vs the fx line? I have 3 fx guns. But i was wondering what im missing out on in this manufacturer. Krait sounds more like the fx where you can tinger with it. Much thanks for your input!!

      @@nephtalilucero8084 Its hard to describe but there is something genuinely lovely about shooting a Katran, the first time I took one up the range to have a little play the weather was rubbish and I thought I would be about half an hour at most..... I lost over 4 hours! I was having soo much fun, its just a genuinely lovely rifle to shoot, they are beautifully made, unfolding that stock still puts a smile on my face every time, over a year later!

      @@AirMaksarmsUK one more question or curiosity. 200cc vs the bottle. Will it affect Slug shooting if this gun can shoot slugs? There arent mamy videos breaking this gun down and comparing. Thanks

      @@nephtalilucero8084 The valves and regulators etc are all the same so bottle versus cylinder wont have any affect on slug ability, the more important factor will be choked versus un choked barrel although according to some recent conversations with a slug manufacturer even the whole choked versus unchoked barrels doesnt really matter, are you from a country with no power restrictions? or somewhere like myself which limits me to 16J or 12 Ft Lb?
