Thanks for listening to these everyone! Working on this show and feeling the love from the fanbase has been an absolute honor and pleasure. Excited for Season 3! Love you, Brad :)
I adored that subtle reference to "Luz's Theme" heard all throughout season 1, and mainly all the way down to the very first episode of the series: A Lying Witch and a Warden. It really makes you feel all the nostalgia in this amazing series. Marvelous job with the music both you and TJ!
This episode's OST was absolutely incredible. "Home" especially just literally broke me. Luz's face as she's staring through the now normal door, Gus's sobbing, fucking Camila just...UGH 💕💕💕❤
@@vicenteisaaclopezvaldez2450 He broke down and started crying once they realized they were stuck in the human realm, and also probably because he had seen Philip’s memories.

It’s so intense, like everything you know and love is being destroyed right before your eyes. I know that was basically what the scene was about, but the music fits SO WELL that it feels like I’m a part of it
20:30 *The collectors theme* is probably one of the best character themes I have ever heard !! It’s so whimsical but so chaotic at the same time I absolutely love it 👏🏻 Well done Brad I’m looking forward to hearing the music that you do for Season 3 !
18:38 this is THE most underrated track. The gradual build up with little chimes to a larger array of music as it continues to rise and rise- even when you cant think it can go any higher it does. Its so perfect to display how intense the Collector being freed is. The Raeda duet sneaking in is so good too
Finally, I have them all. PS: We need a longer version of "home"!!! "We gotta stick together" has the feels!! And "If we're gonna play the owl house" is sooo good!!! I love the intensity leading up to the gang opening the portal!! "Modern day guide" was so short but had such an eerie but calming feel to it. The parts with the collectors theme being played were so fun and sounding so mischievous but at times were a little bit creepy, Oh! and forgot to mention "Watcha playin'?", it's such a bop!! "A Game Called The Owl House" IS SO GOOD TOO!! This episode's musical suite is the best one yet!! Unfortunately we'll have to wait for season 3. I seriously don't know how I am going to manage my free time into doing something else and I can't get over the fact that there's only THREE EPISODES LEFT!!! I hate Disney for doing that.... Anyways, I hope you have a great time surviving the hiatus.
I'd recommend that you listen to "It can't last (Home)" you from TLOU, it's really similar to Home and gives you the same feeling ua-cam.com/video/YqPmt5MWDuM/v-deo.html
The Owl House Reprise at 22:47 gave me chills, especially in context of the episode. It’s so heavy and full of dread but harkening back to a theme song rarely heard while running towards the portal door which is now falling apart. It’s nostalgic but in a way you desperately wish for simpler times because everything now seems so wrong. It really captures the Collector distorting reality as we’ve come to known.
I can tell Brad went all out for this episode. It’s by far the most grand and epic suites he has done for this show, it felt like it came right out of a movie. I really can’t wait to see what he has in store for the season 3 specials. Bangers as always, Brad. Also the Collector theme was a damn BOP.
Man, I almost cried hearing Edas requiem play for a split second in "A game called the owl house" 20:06 I love the music for this show, it's just so amazing and mind blowing!! I'm so excited to hear more of the music in season 3!
THIS EPISODE. i have no words for how good everything was, from the animation to the music to the writing. the last few tracks are especially noteworthy, from the upbeat yet off-putting Whatcha Playin (20:30) to the dramatic and tense If We're Gonna Play Owl House... (21:56) to the simple yet melancholy Home (24:16). fantastic job all around, and can't wait to hear your work in the season 3 specials!
Something I noticed is that "Whatcha Playin'?" drives home the fact that The Collector isn't from the Boiling Isles, or hell, even the demon realm at all. The show usually uses string instruments, piano, drums, etc etc. My point is that these instruments aren't very modern. In that song though, you can hear some kind of guitar I think?? It's very alien to the soundtrack of The Owl House, just like The Collector is to everyone else.
The ticking at the end of "We Gotta Stick Together" to represent the urgency and time limit as the portal door falls apart and as Luz desperately tries to delay the inevitable. Reminds me of "No Time For Caution" from Interstellar. Also the main theme can be heard in "If We're Gonna Play Owl House..."!!!
I'm commenting as I immediately click on it. The ep had definitely an orchestral versh of OP theme and collector's theme of innocent but u know an all powerful being. It's like bill cipher's distant relative
"Whatcha playin'?" is so freaking amazing in itself and the scene it was put in is so great that I've rewatch it 5 times already. The fact that such a somewhat upbeat music plays while we see Belos get smashed into the wall like he's nothing and then the shot cuts to the kids being absolitely terrified, along with that hostile bright red background, and then the the Collector easily moving the moon away and just showing how really powerfullje really is; this music just feels perfect for this scene, representing the Collector's cheerful and childish personality yet also shows his spiteful side toward Bwlos who tricked him
The tonal dissonance of whatcha playin' with the shock of all the kids watching the collector brutally murder the emperor is just. Ungodly. I've been thinking about this one all day
Good gods... the musical parallels between the main theme TJ Hill wrote, and "If We're Gonna Play Owl House"... That drum fill and chord progression WRECKED my emotions, and when the trumpets hit I was reduced to dust. Well done!
The Collector's theme is so good!! It's playful, but it gets this foreboding undertone to show that a very dangerous force is being messed with. Everything about it is just AMAZING
I usually don't notice the music in shows, but GOD DAMN did "Whatcha Playin'?" catch me off guard and put me in awe with how it managed to make me feel put off and as if "okay this is not right"
"Don't tell me not to worry" is undertated. So sad and soothing, and lonely, but I guess you must watch the scene to appreciate it, it was pretty sad to see Eda reminding of a whole generation potentially lost to Belos's system, with only 3 of her loved ones left there, all fearing she could die.
This might be your best work yet: "If We're Gonna Play Owl House..." in particular is so incredibly intense, and the dark reprise of the series theme adds a feeling of climax. "We Gotta Stick Together" is heartbreaking, about making a desperate choice the protect the few people you can. Like something out of a movie.
Here immediately this week to write an essay on why this is probably the best ost in the series! Hollow Mind was previously my favourite, and that was incredible in its own more sombre way, but this week's is just so bombastically cinematic! I love all of it! But in particular, I adore the music any time the Collector is on screen! "Whatcha playin'" (20:30) was one I immediately noticed on a first watch for the unique instrumentation. The weird synth sounds are very stark and I love the way it flows. And the action sequences... When the main theme blares at "You Wish" (7:00), you grin. You just do. And I love the og fight music in "We're here to help" (15:29) because it's such a fun track too. Even comparatively less high stakes scenes such as "Ship reported Stolen" (7:10) are great! But I have to give it to "A game called the Owl House" (18:38) for the incredible finish to it! I just love maybe too much how it builds to the climax with Raine and Eda... It's phenomenal in the show and it's phenomenal just here And then also "If we're gonna play Owl House" (21:56) gives me literal chills. The synth is once again so unique and you can't not like the main theme overtop. It's beautiful. (Also "Home" rounds that off really nicely and I love the use of King's instrument in "We gotta stick together") Thank you for this season's ost and I'm sincerely hoping you're doing/ have done season 3's ost too. This is some of the best music I've had the pleasure to listen to. This is beautiful! 🖤
‘We Gotta Stick Together’ and ‘Home’ are both heartbreaking and I adore both tracks so much. ‘Stick Together’ gives you that anxious feel since the previous tracks have all been urgent and brassy, but then you have this mournful, desperate melody trying to hold everything together as the percussive ticking gets faster and more prominent and the track gets more frantic. ‘Home’ on the other hand is low and grounded, and a lot of people mentioned it sounds a *lot* like the Last of Us, and I think that’s the beauty of it. It’s just guitar, and maybe some faint strings and piano. Most of the tracks are grand and have a lot of string or electronic sounds, and tend to lean towards a grand, epic fantasy kinda sound, the guitar is just so *normal* and grounded in the mundane and modern, but still capable of being very emotional and resonant. It works so wonderfully, with the kids being stripped down, removed from magic, defeated and alone, in a place with no fantasy or magic, just a lone, simple, somber guitar playing as they get caught in a rainstorm at their lowest point. It’s poetic cinema and it makes me cry, thanks Brad.
Home is probably the only one that sounds different than the usual series' music genre. Using it as the background of an important ultimatum made it stand out. Good job!
I really loved the “whatcha playing” music when the collector showed up! “Home as well”! Thanks for posting the season 2 scores! I really enjoyed all of them and I hope you make a return for season 3!
I adore the UFO whirring noise on the Collectors true theme. Really hammering it home that this thing is far from Human, Demon, Witch or Titan Also the "If were gonna play Owl House " is a absolute masterpiece, a dramatic and masterful culmination of a emotional farewell, a final stand and an overwhelming force that playing with reality
Composers really say "let's make a song called Home on this soundtrack" and make it acoustic and the most heartwrenching song that makes you want to go hug your mom and cry
hearing the intro theme come back in "we're here to help" and "if we're gonna play owl house" was like a slap right in the face but in the best way possible
ok I was already blown away by the theme song coming in during “if we’re gonna play owl house…” but then I noticed eda’s requiem at just after the 20 minute mark??? holy shit guys
Dude, with Modern Day Guide playing in the background, I seriously considered the thought that Phillip was gonna go through with petrifying Luz. It's just so pensive and eerie... like anything could happen
As a very normie when it comes to music editing or composing I cannot imagine how one can even try to compose something so... unorthodox as, for instance, the dissonant flutes in "I Don't Associate With Fibbers". It is marvellous.
I love the “modern day guide” track, even if it’s just piano it really emphasizes the stress and desperation Luz is feeling as she turns to stone, it’s a really beautiful piece
I can’t believe this is the last OST of the season! Getting these was one of my favorite parts of the week and the rest of the week I spent listening to all the awesome songs! I’m so sad that we’ll need to wait again for more music… during the s2 hiatus that lack of new soundtracks every Saturday was driving me crazy! You did such a phenomenal job with season 2 and I hope you’ll be doing season 3 as well! Thank you for creating these beautiful masterpieces!!!
GOddd it is absolutely INSANE to realize that “shake on it, human style” and the track near the end of Hollow Mind that plays during when Belos reveals who he is to Luz are dark reprises of the diary entry #1 track from Through the Looking Glass Ruins
this is amazing, especially in "if we're gonna play the owl house.." the slowed down and swelling intro just got me in tears. you can convey emotion amazingly well through music, and that is no easy feat.
how powerful is this show that i just hear the guitar at the very end and, without even having to watch the episode, IMMEDIATELY start sobbing. it's just so gut-wrenching.
I can’t believe this is the last OST of the season! It’s been so great listening to these, you did such a great job! Hoping you’ll be doing S3! The soundtrack was one of my favorite parts of getting a new owl house episode each Saturday, thank you so much for this!!!
Knocked it out of the park again Brad! I was anxiously awaiting for your upload to hear “Whatcha playin’?” Because it provided such a fantastic tonal shift that really pulls you in and makes you ask “wtf is up with this guy?”
everyone is loving the collector's songs but "always a way to help" is. so amazing. the emotions and comfort in it is so nice, its a perfect rest before the chaos of the rest of this episode :) the work on this episode was 10/10 i knew the soundtrack for this ep would be an otherwordly banger IMMEDIATELY after hearing the first few songs
The melody in "A Game Called Owl House" is almost identical to the melody in "Come on In" from King's Tide. If you listen, you hear those same four descending notes in the beginning of both tracks. After rewatching the show a few times, I realized that the melody actually appears in a lot of the episodes. I originally thought it was the main theme but it isn't. I'm probably looking too far into it, but I wonder if it means anything
Sorry to bring it up to you, but the Music for Season 3 Premiere just got blocked by Disney. So, latest one from Brad is gone… #TheOwlHouse, please support the creator, and the Owl house crew.
7:0122:49 Love the incorporation of the intro theme so much! I instantly noticed it while watching the episode and it sounds so good! Also, “Home” is fantastic. It sounds so different from most of the show’s music and it really enhanced the scene.
It's taken me this long to realize that If We're Gonna Play Owl House... is a more rapid and dramatic version of A Game Called Owl House (pretty much the reprise).
I feel like someone probably noticed this, but the "We Gotta Stick Together" portion is a rendition of the music jingle that plays in the first episode when Luz debated going back to the human world. Realizing that hurts "I don't fit in at home, you don't fit in here; we could not fit in together!"
You know what the "If we're gonna play Owl House" makes me feel? Makes me feel hopeless. This song encapsulates the feeling that, this is the end, and everything is about to change. It's the song about a being with powers larger than we could ever imagine just taking control. It's the song of hopelessness, and defeat. The song of reality as you know it being taken from you.
My favorite parts of this soundtrack: 11:47: Modern Day Guide (The piano here just NGHHHH SO GOOD) 12:42 Then Shake On It, Human Style 18:38 A Game Called The Owl House 20:30 Whatcha Playin'? 21:56 If We're Gonna Play Owl House... 23:09 We Gotta Stick Together 24:16 Home
These songs are so good!! But you know would be awesome, if Toby fox literally helped compose a piece for the finale of the Owl House! Can we make it happen Brad?👀
"If We're Gonna Play Owl House..." Soundtrack really captured the feeling on King's desperate attempt to win against Belos but with a cost of everything that we don't know yet except of their separation from the Boiling Isles and the Human World
Thanks for listening to these everyone! Working on this show and feeling the love from the fanbase has been an absolute honor and pleasure. Excited for Season 3! Love you, Brad :)

"if we're gonna play owl house" gives me chills oh my gosh, this whole soundtrack is amazing!!
The percussion on “Whatcha playin?” Is chefs kiss.
Everyone: Collectors theme omg!
Me: FINALLY I HAVE THE MUSIC AT 22:48
hearing the intro theme come back in "we're here to help" and "if we're gonna play owl house" was like a slap right in the face but in the best way possible
My favorite part : 12:50 21:57 18:40
ok I was already blown away by the theme song coming in during “if we’re gonna play owl house…” but then I noticed eda’s requiem at just after the 20 minute mark??? holy shit guys
If we’re gonna play owl house feels like an orchestral version of the theme and I love it
Dude, with Modern Day Guide playing in the background, I seriously considered the thought that Phillip was gonna go through with petrifying Luz. It's just so pensive and eerie... like anything could happen
As a very normie when it comes to music editing or composing I cannot imagine how one can even try to compose something so... unorthodox as, for instance, the dissonant flutes in "I Don't Associate With Fibbers". It is marvellous.
WOOOO!!! ITS HERE!!!!! Every since I saw this episode earlier, I couldn’t wait for the soundtrack!!
24:16 I don't know why it reminded me of a song from the last of us video game
21:59 this part of the music took my breath away! Love the soundtrack and the chapter !!!!! I love your musical work ♥ greetings from Chile
CHILE CAMPEÓN 🔥🦅🇨🇱🗣
We need this on Spotify and a long version of “Home”
GOddd it is absolutely INSANE to realize that “shake on it, human style” and the track near the end of Hollow Mind that plays during when Belos reveals who he is to Luz are dark reprises of the diary entry #1 track from Through the Looking Glass Ruins
21:56 with the show theme coming in... GOD SO GOOD
12:42 draining spell begins! I was looking for this theme specifically for awhile now!
this is amazing, especially in "if we're gonna play the owl house.." the slowed down and swelling intro just got me in tears. you can convey emotion amazingly well through music, and that is no easy feat.
"Home" was P A I N
how powerful is this show that i just hear the guitar at the very end and, without even having to watch the episode, IMMEDIATELY start sobbing. it's just so gut-wrenching.
YOU DONT KNOW HOW MUCH I WAITED FOR "WHATCHA PLAYIN" I SWEAR I NEED A FULL VERSION
Home reminds me a lot of The Last Of Us! So gooooooodddddd
8:10 the imaginary battle in my mind is sooo epic
everyone is loving the collector's songs but "always a way to help" is. so amazing. the emotions and comfort in it is so nice, its a perfect rest before the chaos of the rest of this episode :) the work on this episode was 10/10 i knew the soundtrack for this ep would be an otherwordly banger IMMEDIATELY after hearing the first few songs
I really love the Collector's theme! This episode has great soundtracks, as usual :)
Thank you for this Masterpiece OST for this Masterpiece of a show ;v;
No way you actually used that feature.
@@AdvSpringBonnie Yes way.
You are a angel and should be pinned or verified
I’m obsessed with “whatcha playin?” And “if we’re gonna play owl house...” Omg
The entire Owl House soundtrack is amazing, but gosh, none of the individual scores can surpass the impeccable brilliance that is the King's Tide OST
Jesus. The Collectors theme and the riffs on Home are so- this show man.
that guitar at the end physically destroyed me
7:01 22:49 Love the incorporation of the intro theme so much!
Realizing that hurts
"I don't fit in at home, you don't fit in here; we could not fit in together!"
I'm going to miss the show when season 3 ends
My favorite parts of this soundtrack:
11:47: Modern Day Guide (The piano here just NGHHHH SO GOOD)
12:42 Then Shake On It, Human Style
18:38 A Game Called The Owl House
20:30 Whatcha Playin'?
21:56 If We're Gonna Play Owl House...
23:09 We Gotta Stick Together
24:16 Home
My favorite was I love a good twist lol
Modern Day guide was such a chilling song, especially with it paired with Luz almost getting petrified.
"Home" broke me in the best way possible, I can't put into words how much I love that piece
"If We're Gonna Play Owl House..." gives a celestial Final Boss vibe.
"If we're gonna play Owl House" is so impactful
15:30 don't know what instruments was used but the first few sequences get me head nodding beat and it got the OP theme in different versh too!
There's some similar instruments used in the collectors theme that was used in "Echoes of the Past," nice musical connection
I get Interstellar vibes from "We gotta stick together" especially since reality is essentially being altered during that scene. Amazing ost as always
These songs are so good!! But you know would be awesome, if Toby fox literally helped compose a piece for the finale of the Owl House!
Can we make it happen Brad?👀
"If We're Gonna Play Owl House..." Soundtrack really captured the feeling on King's desperate attempt to win against Belos but with a cost of everything that we don't know yet except of their separation from the Boiling Isles and the Human World
"Whatcha Playin' ?" ( 20:30 ) is giving me gigantic bill cipher vibes
I LOVE the inclusion of synths for the Collector
