Really nice sounding octave for an incredible price -- but I will keep my 2001 Weber Big Sky (F-style) with block inlays! 😊 (Bruce says it is the only one he made with those block inlays!). But I'm getting pretty old so it will be for sale soon I'll bet!😂🤣😂
One day I would appreciate y'all talking more about the planting of trees, where and what...how do you verify the trees are plant, and that 4 other people did not pay for the same tree. If I played mandolin I would buy one.
We could make a quick video about this for sure! The simple answer is we use an organization called One Tree Planted, here is their website - onetreeplanted.org/pages/about-us . They are a well-renowned organization that kinda uses "sub-organizations" around the world to plant trees. Monthly we add up how many trees are needing to be planted based on what instruments were sold, then we make donations to that website. If you look through it, you'll see that they have options for planting specific trees in specific parts of the world so when we donate, we donate trees that are common tonewoods. $1 plants one tree, so there's no way that 4 people plant the same one tree, as long as their website is correct. We also don't charge the customers for the trees, we plant them on our customer's behalf essentially. Hopefully that answers some things, it's a really neat cause and an easy way to do out part!
"Sierra Hull's new octave mandolin" makes it sound like this is her new choice on the instrument, as opposed to Bourgeois giving her one for PR purposes. I sort of doubt she'll be setting aside her Webers in favor of this one.
I believe we can ship overseas depending on the products, sometimes we run into the duty fees depending on the country. Please give us a call and we can go through what that process is: (417)-720-1223 we'll help you as best as we can!
Love you guys :) To my ears sound of this Bourgeois octave mandolin sound kind-a thin to me wee little better then a Trinity College octave mandolin. Love the Maple Back no fan of plastic ivoroid binding they could have use some type of wood binding like white willow. Painting Bake Red Spruce so sad losing that beautiful character of grains & caramel bake look to the Red Spruce. Another thing black really show up fingerprints. Bourgeois octave mandolin woods is a step up from Trinity College. by far. Price is pretty good for this second level octave mandolin.
Sorry it's white holly binding not white willow. This Irish Cittern maker in TN was going to use white holly wood binding on this ziricote cittern I wanted build I wanted curly maple binding he said no it will be white holly binding so I didn't have it built by him.
Wow. Gorgeous tone, looks, and great value, too. Bravo, Dana &Co. That's a winner, and being Sierra's choice can't hurt their success one bit!
Anxious to hear her play one of these - I've seen the video of her playing a wonderful Weber f-style octave mandolin.
Have I missed what the scale length it is ? i haven't watched the whole demo yet.

Are y’all gonna shoot this out with the Eastman? I’d love to get a sense if it’s worth the upgrade
In the works!
@@AcousticShoppe sweet, can’t wait!
Me too. That's a great idea.

Don’t see this one for sale yet when will it be available? Also what would it run me to have the recommended live performance pickup installed?
There is currently one in stock that hasn't been photographed yet to put online. Give us a call
I like the sound or a normal mandolin myself.
John, did I hear you right? Is this mandolin built by Eastman?
This is, yes
Great mandolin. Gents, your web site refuses connection from Singapore. I have to go through a VPN to open your web site. What's up with that?
Not too sure, our Point of Sale system just must be blocked in that area. I don't think we could exactly have control of that
@@AcousticShoppe Thanks. Do you ship overseas? I can get to your site through a VPN, but it doesn't recognise shipping addresses outside the US.

Would have been nice to hear it played without talking.
