    This is one hell of a movie. Watch it when you can! And Maggi Smith is seen for about 5 minutes but steals the show. As usual!

      You asked AGES ago, but I'm rediscovering how much I love this film and came across this video. The song is "Got A Feelin You're Fooling" from the film Broadway Melody of 1936. A song that would have definitely been played by dance bands in 1937, the year that Death On The Nile takes place.

    Peter Ustinov was a very good actor, but he was nothing like Poirot in the books. Quie disappointing really. Well, we have been spoiled with David Suchet who is PERFECT, so anyone else pales in comparison

    • @kugelweg
      @kugelweg 2 роки тому +3

      Peter Ustinov IS a great actor, and he based his performance on the script, which is what Suchet did for his version Poirot too. Suchet wanted to be true to the books, hence the character HE created. Ustinov wanted to be true to the script he was given and was paid to deliver...hence HIS portrayal of the character. I enjoy watching them both for this reason. They each created a charming character that is enjoyable to watch. I find it really ridiculous to see how many people have watched Suchet's performances and think they're PERFECT, who have also never actually READ one of Christie's stories or novels.
      Like I said, I enjoy both incarnations for various reasons, and have read most of the stories and novels.

      @@kugelweg How very arrogant of you to say that those who love Suchet have "never actually READ one of Christie's stories or novels."! I have read every single novel Christie wrote, and I've seen many different adaptations of her stories, and I KNOW perfectly well how and why Ustinov is NOT faithful to the character of the books. Yes, I'm a purist, sue me, you pretentious, "holier and better than thou" PC jerk
