  • The highlights of Michael Jordan between 2001 and 2003...the second return of his airness with the jersey of Washington Wizards.
At this time Jordan was 38,39,40 years old And nevertheless he scored more than 20 PPG in 2 seasons and marked some records .
He played against the new generation of very talented players like T-MAC , IVERSON , KOBE , KIDD , MING and many others.
the king never lost his game.... shoot, reverse lay up,dunks, pass and reverse fade away jumpshot...all in perfection with tricks, many fakes and smartness...a chess master in action....enjoy.

thats what Paul Pierce said about MJ back then.
That he is better than the 90% of the players.
He made a mistake. He was still the best. He just didnt have help from others.
Should he had a Scottie Pippen along side, they would have dominated the 2000 too

It’s funny how Michael played with 3 generations of players and still retained his ability to outsmart his opponents with such ease, the mind of a competitive killer and the dedication combined made this man and 1 in a lifetime sensation. We will never truely have a another Michael Jordan. Thank you michael for everything you’ve done for basketball.

Those were some of the tightest defence plays against Jordan... 1 v, 2 v, 3 v Jordan. Yet Jordan still scores. Also Jordan's ability to steal the ball is something as legendary... Nothing that today's pro players can brag about:)

I'm a so-called modern NBA fan who started to watch it after maybe 2005. If you follow basketball and actually understand the competition of the game, you should be shocked as most people are with how Michael Jordan could perform even at the age of 40. He is the complete package. Unmatched atheleticism, big hands, coordination, the touches around the rim, the killer instinct, the midrange, the basketball IQ and the defense.
Kobe has the coordination, the touches around the rim, the killer instinct, the midrange and the defense. Kobe is the best after MJ. Lebron has the atheleticism, touches around the rim, the basketball IQ and the defense. He is the best well-around player right now. There is no one like MJ. No one can be the scoring champions 10 times+mvps+6 finals mvps+all defensive player first team doing 3 peats twice and threw away a potential 8 peats if he had not gone for baseball.
Why can we just settle the debate on who is the GAOT and just enjoy the NBA today?? Why do we have to bring up Michael Jordan's name so often when there is no room for debate??
No one is even compariable to Michael Jordan's overall achievments and dominations. Kobe has the 81 point regular game. Lebron has 6 straight finals appearance. Those are remarkable feats. But those alone won't stand a chance against Michael's resume. Not even close.

What I love about Michael Jordan, and what sets him apart from any other player in history, is that he schooled the league he came into, he schooled the league he came in with, and he schooled the league that watched and learned all his tricks while he was schooling the previous two leagues!
He was in perfect sync with the game, in perfect equilibrium with the game, he was basketball perfection.

I think its laughable when people call Jordan overrated. I mean I get that he's one of the most hyped up athletes in sports history, but when did he ever not play up to the hype or exceed it? Jordan always raised his game in the playoffs against the best teams and the best players that the league had to offer, and he was incredibly clutch in late game situations when everyone knew he was going to get the ball. In one of the physically toughest, most competitive eras, he consistently dominated, night in, night out. I don't think you could ask for a better, more entertaining player than Michael Jordan, and yet, people still have the audacity to belittle his game and his accomplishments.

    • @jaykyungchung2497
      @jaykyungchung2497 9 років тому +15

      Exactly!
Sometimes I just don't get these people and their blind hatred on him.
After all, MJ is national icon in international level and they have to put him down with whatever lame reason they can think of.
They even have nerve to compare MJ's first retirement to LBJ's teaming up in Heat as a way of saying they should both be crucified for disloyalty.
I can feel so much hatred and bias in these old hard heads and young irrational brains. They have to put him down with whatever reasons or means necessary, including his personal life to belittle his game and accomplishments like you mentioned. It's as if MJ never really worked hard enough to prove himself for his own hype and accomplishments or everything was bogus in a brainwashed hype and was handed to him.
Whether there is much truth in that or not, I still trust my own eye test.
I watched with passion as he proved every night that there was no one equal to him in mental prowess as well as in physical gifts that set him apart miles from other greats. His best weapon was not his physical gifts but the unparalled mental drive to be flawless in everything in the game of basketball so he can be the ultimate winner.
He proved every naysayers wrong by improving his game endlessly and beating the odds all those years.
And what do we hear from these fellows now?
They are either haters or jeolous of him being considered the greatest over their own hyped up player. What more does he have to prove in order to be fairly considered the greatest in their eyes then?
Even if he didn't retire the first two times and win more rings, I doubt these people will put him over their own idol, saying he was lucky, competition was bad, the league was watered down, and etc.

Y'know, as much as I hate the modern NBA, I never get tired of going back to watch the highlights from the greats. One of the best things about Jordan and his class of NBA players is that they didn't bitch to the refs and complain about getting roughed up on the court by throwing their hands up in little tantrums. They powered through intense physical play on offense and then got physical on the defensive end. These players balled. They didn't play, they balled.

I disagree. MJ had great teammates. For example 1991 NBA Finals, Scottie Pippen and John Paxson dominated as much as MJ did. Plus, if we're talking about dominance. I believe you should look at player efficiency. LeBron's PER is much greater than MJ. I think what you should say is MJ is mentally tougher than LeBron and wants to win mroe than LeBron does. LeBron overall is a better athlete than MJ without question. Also, MJ is unanimously way more clutch than LeBron.

mrteportelloubaga Jordan obviously had good teammates, especially Pippen, but Michael was consistently the leader and driving force of the Bulls' success and no other player on that team dominated night in and night out the way that Jordan did (MJ was Finals MVP every year the Bulls won the championship). Everyone on that team including Scottie knew where the ball had to go when the game was on the line, just like Wade knew to get the ball to James when it mattered. As far as athleticism, they are both phenomenal, but also different athletes. Clearly, LeBron is stronger and more powerful than MJ ever was, but he also plays in a softer, less physical era, and while its arguable that LeBron is faster in a straight line, Jordan was on another level when you factor in everything else. Jordan definitely had a higher vertical (48") of the two (LeBron's is closer to 40", maybe 42") and its been said that Michael had the greatest hang time of any athlete (he wasn't called "Air" Jordan for nothing), but MJ was also more agile than LeBron, in that he had better body control, maneuverability, ability to stop on a dime and change directions, and sheer quickness (LBJ's first step is slow compared with MJ's).

    • @kcire-tv3wy
      @kcire-tv3wy 7 років тому +1

hoopfan71.... MJ's vertical was more along the lines of 44". Charles Barlkley was 42" and so was Spud Webb. Also, Jordan had great balance and body control in the air as he could take hits and still maintain safe landings.

When you've got opposition teams cheering for Michael Jordan it's shows you just how much people admire and respect him and how much he means to the game of basketball.
He still moved with such grace and ease in his late 30's of someone half his age and he still had some gas left in the tank. He's a freak one of akind of athlete that will never be duplicated.
If Kobe and Lebron play like this when they're 40 call me and we might have an argument, but even then we won't?

Great job. You really summed it up perfectly too with the chess master comment, he was out there scoring on younger guys with his knowledge of the game and his touch. He was putting up those numbers relying heavily on his midrange game, the most inefficient shot in the game. He was using a knife in a gunfight and winning. He probably did this on purpose too, just as more of an intimidation factor. I know I would have... Greatest ever.

in my opinion MJ was still the best player in the league at this point.... not top 15 or top 10, the very best... the only thing the other guys had on him was stamina, but that is understandable given that he just came out of retirement and was 38 years old at the time... but i can't honestly name one player at that time that was more complete and skilled than Michael Jordan was... Kobe and Tmac were great but their offense and defense weren't as polished as MJ's at this time... there's no way MJ would NOT dominate this current NBA.... all the stars in the beginning of the video would be all stars today with the skills they had at that point in time and some of them haven't even hit prime yet... KG and Tim Duncan will toy with this no good big man league today... I don't understand how anyone could ever say that he's not the G.O.A.T

Which I believe should be retired leave wide, was honored by Riley brought tears to my eyes. Thank you Michael Jordan! I’m so fortunate to have watched your greatness!

The fact that he played at a time where the dense was super physical is astounding. Forget the fact that Jordan is an athletic freak. His jumping ability, hang time, his huge hands and hawk vision. Hr played against guys who would hand check, body check and basically pummel you if you drove through the middle. It’s a testament to his superior talent that he was still so unstoppable. There’s no question he’s the GOAT.

This is beautiful to watch and nasty at the same, beaytiful as in every aspect of MJ's game with the wizards such as the jump shot form, the ball swishing the nets, Nasty as in jordan taking the ball out of the hands of a shooter as he attemps a shot in mid air, nasty as in jordan stealing the ball on an inbounds pass from the opposing team, and when jordan steals the ball seems like no one wanted to chase him down to be poterized, that was the fear that jordan always had on opposing players, anyway this is a beautiful piece that is put together very well. Thanks for this masterpiece of MJ's wizards days, what a blessing to see the G.O.A.T. at his best on a losing team just because he loves the game. Wow MJ is art !!!!! 23 greatest of all time
