@@MaggyMontes In Mega Man IV, Dr Cossack is thought to be the main villain, but as it turns out, his daughter, Kalinka, was kidnapped by Dr Wily, forcing him to fight Mega Man.
The composition of this song has a very unique feeling; tired, broken down, dispirited, but fighting on because it is necessary. The composer may have imparted a bit of that from his own state of mind when writing this track, it feels authentic.
Used a cassette tape to record this song when I was little. To think kids can just go on the internet and find music now is so weird thinking back to then.
+J Snivers (TobenaiSakana) Holy shit, you and me both!! I recorded this on cassette tape back in 1991 because I didn't know how to actually record from NES to VHS back then. My dad knew how to do it, but we didn't live with our dad. My brothers eventually dual layered the tape and had the music playing while they were rapping over the music en Espanol. The early 1990s were a good time. I was 5, they were 6 and 7, so they knew exactly what they were doing.
These are all great memories, I have my own on the 90s, its like magical moments I remember while I lived in tijuana I was about 5 and as I woke up to fox 6 at like 6 am that was the only time I watched dragon ball, it was the episode where goku meets master roshi, and tried to wake my little brothers up so they could watch this really cool cartoon But they didnt, I never heard of it and didnt know its name till like 6 or 7 years later when I saw goku on a dragon ball z toy my brothers and cousins were looking at
I personally feel like this is hands down the most absolutely cinematic theme in the history of Mega Man because this is an emotional storyline and also especially because this is a moving stage which was very uncommon in the series when Mega Man 4 was released and I also think Mega Man 4 had the best sound engine in any game for the NES it was very solid , I can’t think of any other 8 bit game with a sound engine this consistent . I wrote lyrics to this song and I still remember them 😂😂❤️ I remember the day we got Mega Man 4 what a great memory that was 🥰
Mega Man 4 may not be held up to the same regards as say 2 or 9, but this song is just one of the reasons why 4 is my absolute favorite classic Mega Man game.
@@ultrairrelevantnobody1862 Of 8-bit, maybe. I'm still partial to 7 while 8 sadly is too flawed compared to 8-bit counterparts. Special mention to &Forte
True fucking 8bit music, seriously the megaman franchise has the most consistent soundtracks, all of their games contain similar in a way music that cures ears, and persists you to play the game
Weirdly enough, I remember this track more from that tough as nails Sonic Hack “Sonic Erazor” and it wasn’t until I played the game where I learned this was where Labyrinth Zone’s track came from.
Mega Man 3 has the biggest enemy hitboxes, which is annoying. But, yeah... It's very good. Mega Man 4 is my favorite, which seems to be a very rare case with gamers.
100% agree that Mega Man should've been in Marvel 3. Even this many years apart, I've been on an MvC kick lately and I think he still deserved a spot in that game. Especially since 9 and 10 were already out by this time, and those game had some of his best weapons!
Another cool 8 bit theme for Cossack castle here. It makes me as player got a will to play more with joy 🤣 and no turn off famicom console...no give up..as megaman(player) this castle will be "KABANGG🤣🤣🤣"...memorable days as kid ^^.
I always thought that Cossack’s robots should’ve rebelled against Wily and sided with Mega Man once Kalinka was safe and they realized that he was forced.
I know everyone is pretty much circlejerking the importance of every single megaman game compared to 2, but I genuienly think this game is better than both 2 and 3. Think of it, hidden permanent (OPTIONAL!!!!) collectibles, better handling of e-tanks, no annoying shadow stages, the first fakeout villain in megaman history, ties to the cold war, the charge attack. I find this game better than 2 and 3 to say the least. tl;dr: 4>2>6>3>5>>>>1>>>>>mm&bass
For music I have 1. MM3 2. MM5 3. MM1 / MM2 (undecided there still, but might be leaning in MM2's direction at the moment) I'm also still currently playing MM6, so hopefully it can compete as well
Gotta say I'm a bit surprised you are holding MM3 so highly, In my books it's the worst of the bunch. At least when it comes to the PAL-version. It got so many slowdowns :/ It has fantastic music though. Still a great game but pales to the others IMO. I'd rank them like this MM2>MM1>MM4>MM5>MM3 I'm not sure where I'd put MM6 since there never came a PAL-release and I just about 2 months ago or so bought MM6 in good condition to play it for the first time in my life.
Cossack 2 gets overlooked, but IMHO this is one of the best tracks ever made in the entire Mega Man Series.
Yo, true story.
in the entire Nes catalog bro...
Yeah much agreed 🤓
Catchy as hell.
And it even felt extremely Russian even before I knew what “Cossack” meant
You're right
Guy just wanted his daughter back :,(
I want to cry
What do you mean? :o

@@sergeantbillcipher6631 That's funny considering it even says "IV" in the title screen.
This song has a melancholy tone when you know why Dr. Cossack challenged Mega Man. One of the best songs of the entire series!
Agreed, and my definite favorite in this game. And for me, music in this series beats all other video game music anywhere.
THANK YOU

I did that too! Had the tape recorders mic next to the tv:s speaker, and rec away! Sounded bloody awful off the tape. :D
I did the same with the opening theme of "The Guardian Legend."
😁

This is one of the greatest themes in any Megaman game!
Jep, definitely. This song is my third favorite soundtrack from Mega Man 1 to Mega Man 6.
Facts. Its like a better version of alot of the mm2 sht
@@dotprince83 Mega Man 4 feels much more modern than even MM3.
It's a sad song, which makes sense since Cossack was forced into it all.
Sad? For me, this song is very moving and catchy. It makes me think of determination and perseverance.
Agreed. Plus there was still that whole ‘Cold War’ subplot in MM4 that people overlook.
@@MatthewTheWolf2029and not from great heights.
Quite beautiful. It just screams resolve and bravery. One of the highlights of all the Mega Man games.
And determination.
After the second time playing, once you learn, you can almost hear Cossack saying "I'm sorry. Mega Man..."
Mega Man 4 is vastly underrated.
mirokyu so underrated. MM3 gets too much props.
yup.
Abdelmelik Farooq Alwahid What about MM2?
Rainbow Man That one too
Rainbow Man MM2 has best music's
I like how the music itself tells a story, lyrics not needed, lots of conviction in these tracks

Definitely has that “well, this is it” tone to it .....
All the dr wily stages in mm3 have the same tone
This hits different after learning Cossack’s backstory
By far the best theme in mm4
Yes. Very memorable, iconic, and symbolic.

2 is good, but it definitely isn't the best game in the series... that probably goes to 10 or 11
This Theme makes me think "You've done well so far but now things are about to get rough"
Beyond perfect ost track
this song is soo underated
Cossack 1 and 2 as a pair, is unbeatable in the megaman series. No other fortress pair has been so great.
This song it's so beautiful, my favorite song of megaman 4
This is without a doubt, my number one rated song in Megaman 4. This song really stood with me.
I love this music when ever I play MM4.
No porque dicen que el soundtrack de megaman 4 es poco memorable si tenemos obra como este
Tiene temas demasiado buenos, al igual que Megaman 5
I LOVE the little high note flourishes in the baseline... so good...
The best song in the entire game.

"Russian scientist, Dr. Cossack"... I mean, come on, seriously?
Where's the Spanish scientist, Dr. Flamenco?
The #6 Runaway Guys Fan He’s collaborating with the Mexican scientist, Dr. Macarena.
I guess he was a fan of Hard Man too.
Aye but Cossacks are a distinct people.
It's more like saying the English scientist, Dr. Saxon.
Or the Japanese scientst: "Dr. Yusakenojimbo"?
Brazilian scientist,Dr.Putaria,got it?
Can't believe the same species is capable of producing such great art and at the same time killing each other in senseless wars.

There was some 20 year old modernized version of pong with 4 paddles that used this music. I can't remember what it was. It was on IMac or something.
MM 3 Wily Stage 1, MM6 Mr X theme and this are the 3 best tracks in classic MM history!
