- Welcome to my knitting podcast in English 🤎!
I'm coming to you from the Netherlands so excuse my Dutchy English. I enjoy all the inspiration in the worldwide knitting community so much. I would love to share my 'handwerk perikelen' (also known as crafty adventures) with you.

Dear Sarah, I totally understand your need to search for calm in order to bring light to others when it's time to. I also feel overwhelmed by the amount of beautiful things we see and want to knit or crochet. If you add to that some circumstances in the world that are far from bring us heart jumping moments... YES, we need to find inner peace. I hope that you'll find it. I'm sure you will! Take care.
Thank you again for making me feel like I just spent time with a friend. Almost every podcaster I watch or listen to goes through times when they feel like they are not producing enough to do an episode. For me I do love to see what you are all making but my main purpose is to connect with someone who loves to do something that I also love doing. I don’t care if you finish something every week or if a project takes 6 months or if something goes into hibernation for multiple years. Craft what makes you happy. That’s what most of us are doing while we watch.
I knew the moment I saw your face today that you were feeling low. I agree, the dark days of winter are very difficult for me and many days I go back to bed to warm myself and just be with my mind. I have a lovely heated blanket that relaxes me. We all need time to recharge. I have just started knitting socks and it’s a heart-jumping activity for me. You warm my heart every time I see you - thank you ❤
Thank you for a lovely channel. I too am an introverted knitter but one with a very exuberant amount of party loving friends. 🎉 We introverts have the best of both worlds! A beautiful knitty life. 🙏🏼💕
Sarah, I appreciate your perspective of the Christmas season. I think, as a Christian which I am, that the focus should be on Christ not all the decorating and the rest. I realize not all watching you have the same thoughts. I worked in retail 30 years and appreciate a quieter time. We decorate but not excessively. I enjoy your videocast due to you NOT pushing buy this and that. I hope you have a lovely season filled with heart jumping moments.
The project bag looks like granny squares! No wonder you love the fabric.
Hello Sarah. Your podcast is just wonderful. I really enjoy your honesty and am grateful that you share your thoughts and crafty adventures. This time of year is overwhelming and full of hype and urgency. I am glad you are not doing vlogmas. It is much better to spend the time looking after yourself. Knitting is the best therapy. Take care. Know you are loved. Tot siens 🌷🌷🌷
Hi Sarah with the blanket I would just go with the flow and join the squares until the table is really too small in the moment an idea is needed it will come .... may be then you just join big squares at the weekends.... Thank you for sharing have a nice winter time!
🌿thank you ...here is some southern hemisphere summer warmth and light with love 🌻happy Jesus's birthday 🎂🌲💖
I believe recognizing that overwhelming feeling is the road through the woods to calm. Your podcast is so relaxing and it is so good to see what makes your heart jump. We appreciate seeing what you are making and connecting with you in a podcast. That is heart jumping to me. Take good care and stay well. 🧶
Dear Sarah, I just saw Knitty Natty's version of “The Summer Fade Hexi Blanket.” It did make my heart jump! 💖 I can’t wait to start on it with minis from my first yarn advent. 😊 (But, I must wait until Christmas gifts are completed.) 🎄🧶🥰
I love the idea of slowing down in winter, I think that is what it is for. Refresh, recuperate, heal for spring. Horizontal, you're saying it with the emphasis on the wrong syllable. They way you don't think is right, actually is. ❤ hor i ZON tal. Happy Knitting/crocheting this week!!🧶🥰
So funny and true about the daily "fit" for your love. I did the same with socks!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I found your podcast a couple of months ago and enjoy it very much. You are such a good communicator and I hope you don’t get too frustrated with your English. I am in the US and always understand what you say and mean. Thanks for all of the time and effort you put into the podcast!

Love you, chin up, keep smiling, what ever you are doing.
Happy days.
Take care of yourself, especially over Christmas. I have a little Yarn shop n Centurion South Afica, we call our get together sip and stitch every month❤
Oh yes it is overwhelming. I’m a slow knitter and crafter in general so seeing all these beautiful projects makes me want all the wool. Anyway love your podcast and your projects❤
Liked your crochet squares and its color combination . Very neat and beautiful!
Happy Birthday!! Enjoyed your IG trip to Prague. Please do tell us why you love granny squares so much. Your blanket beginnings are beautiful!
Sarah, I’m happy you decided you couldn’t start over anymore! Life isn’t perfect. You were relaxing more as you filmed. You said so many people sent suggestions on how to do the new blanket, but you didn’t use them. You said it as if you were apologizing. First you had so many ‘friends’ happy to contribute to your project. Second, they had so many ideas of how they would make the blanket. Even though you aren’t making exactly what they suggested, you were able to see so many possibilities and use them to choose the one that makes you the happiest. Sarah you are so hard on yourself. Remember that we love you and this is meant to be fun!❤
Thank you for another beautiful podcast. This time of year is overwhelming for a lot of us. Hearing how you feel is comforting to me knowing that I am not the only one who feels like this. I always look forward to your podcasts so much. ❤
Dear Sarah I love to watch your episodes heart jumping to see you!!! Keep up the good work❤
😻💕 Good morning Sarah, this is Marion Jay and I noticed that this video was on my birthday of my 90th birthday November 27 so that’s nice to know for me anyway and I just want to wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year in case I don’t get back on. I’ve been busy, so is everybody else I guess that’s all love you programs love you and
Hi Sarah. I would definitely recommend making an Italian bindoff on your loved oneˋs Zip Cardigan. He Will appriciate it. You Can find a fantastic tutorial made from Kimmie Munksholm “Den ultimative guide til italiensk aflukning”. It will be so nice.
God luck
How fabulous it was for you to post a video on my birthday! LOL, a girl can dream anyway. There are so many neat projects that I see on podcasts and it does become overwhelming but the thought of not seeing the podcasts like yours that I adore is more overwhelming. I live out in the middle of nowhere and I don’t drive. You all are my knitting/crafting group. Have a fabulous week, Sarah! ❤️🌸
You are refreshingly honest with your knitting. We hear you. 😊
A beautiful episode. So agree with you that there is too much rush and putting up the decorations so early. Just 2 days before Christmas seems ideal to me. Plenty of time to relax and absorb the meaning of Advent before the family time. 🇬🇧
Thank you for not rushing the holidays. I love the four weeks of advent and this year, the fourth week will only be one day (Christmas Eve). I used to love all the decorating and baking associated with Christmas and then I developed diabetes (boo) and started working at the airport and then for the alumni office of my alma mater and that sucked all of the joy out of the holiday hoopla. It's just too much and people can be so impatient and unkind this time of year. I often feel like Charlie Brown in "A Charlie Brown Christmas". When I was little, I remember Santa putting up our Christmas tree on Christmas Eve, most likely because my parents were too tired/stressed to do it earlier. I much prefer the simpler way of celebrating. I hope your holidays are filled with quiet moments of joy and awe. ♥
Thank you so much for sharing your knitting experiences with me/us. It really has inspired me to to keep knitting. Thank you 😊
You make my heart jump😊
Sarah, I am the same way. I do not enjoy all of the hustle and bustle around Christmas, so we only put up our tree with white twinkle lights and a red bow on top. Originally , I first did this years ago when we had a new kitten in the house, but now I enjoy the simplicity.
So cozy to watch your podcast while knitting 🥰
And seeing your beautiful use of the hiedra headband makes me so happy 🤍
I love your granny square afghan. It certainly matches the pictures of Prague. I loved seeing your lovely pictures of the city. I too am overwhelmed by the holidays. I love to make things for my family but it’s too much so I am trying to just keep it simple and do my heart jumping things. Your American friend Sandy.
Thank you
"Heart jumping" how beautiful!!
I belong to a Sunday morning Knitting group. Lately, so many of us are crocheting granny squares LOL, everyone loves granny squares!
Your Prague blanket beginning is just stunning. I hope you take this quiet advent time and wrap it around you. It's funny; my ears have been craving silence lately; I think it's in response to the world. Happy creating 💚🧶💚
Perhaps a Knit 2 together through the back loops bind off would work.
Wishing you peace and joy in finding ways to connect with what makes your heart jump❤️
Hey
Have you tried a icelandic bind off. My new favorite. Stretchy, not flaring and quick. Have a great day
I go on a retreat with my knit shop for 4 days. I enjoy it so much! We knit and have great conversations. I do have to be careful how many podcasts I watch. But you are my #1! 🤣
What about the Icelandic bind off? It's easy and creates a very clean edge.
Thank you for this little insight into your Christmas preparations and keeping it calm.
We put up the Christmas tree on the 24th of December fresh from the woods.
But traditionally we celebrate Advent with a wreath and 4 candles and put up some decorations around the house and in the windows.
Slowing down in December sounds so lovely! I never managed to do so, because of getting seduced by Advent MKALS, gift knitting and interesting new patterns :-)
Love your videos!
Did anyone suggest Babette’s blanket? It was on the cover of the interweave crochet magazine probably 15 years ago. It’s a mixture of various sizes of squares
I think your blanket is beautiful. I love all the color combinations, joining them right away will look gorgeous. Im inspired to make one, even though I dont know how to crochet. lol Your space looks so cozy thank you for the entertaining and inspiring vlog. And your English is really good. No need to restart your filming you come across clear. ❤
Alternating Suspended Bind Off by The Chilly Dog is an interesting stretchy cast off. Might be worth trying.
Thank you for another lovely episode. I find it hard to go on instagram as I'm reminded of all the things I want to make/create but haven't yet. I have a little blog I publish miniature printables on but nothing for the last month or so. I feel bad about that but it's important not to take the joy away from creating. I have been busy knitting though and sitting less at the computer so that is probably a good thing.
❤
💜💜💜💜
Hello Sarah, I love your crochet blankets, so much that I learned how to crochet and made 3 crochet blankets since June. I am curious how you join as you go, if that could be shown sometime, wondering if you just leave a long tail from one of the squares and go until it runs out. If you have already shown this on a previous episode (sorry I have forgotten), mabe you will know which one. Thank you, Happy knitting/crocheting. ❤🤗
Hi there, if you look through the previous videos (about 4 months ago) Sarah demonstrates how she does it. She doesn’t call them tutorials, but you just watch her do her thing. You can slow the video down. There are also other tutorials on UA-cam about joining as you go in crochet, if you do a search. It’s been a revelation to me. I’m not a fan of sewing, so I really love this method. Hope that helps. ☺️
@@margarethastings3332 Thank you Margaret, hopefully I can find the one Sarah demonstrates it. I was curious about the method she uses. I will check out other tutorials. 😄
I am waiting for the yarn to start my husbands jacket, he is a big man so wish me luck 🙁
so sweet
Hello Sarah, could it be a Latvian braid what you did between the body and the hem.
I just cast off in rib I am not into all these fancy find offs
