I have an old TV that still works, just needs a few minor repairs. I don't want to get rid of it because it has sentimental value to me. My dad helped me move some stuff a while back when we moved into another house and he dropped my TV. He felt very bad and I threw it in his face. He had my TV fixed within a few days and I was really happy. He and I watched a lot of shows on that TV together and we laughed a lot. I miss my dad. I regret the way I treated him back then. I just didn't know any better as I do today. I will continue having this TV fixed every time it breaks down until the day I die.
The Viewer wow but my Old RCA TV my Dad bougth a month ago and the cable in in the back is a little jigglely so it moves all around so I have to move it to get any tv signal I try replacing the cable but now it made it worse I know its not broken because in the static I still see a little bit signal some one please help?
Thank you you saved me a great deal of money I am disabled and both of my tv's cable inputs broke. I had a friend help me and your video did the trick. Again thank you for the most informative video I have seen. Step by step it was really amazing that you shared your knowledge with us, there really are good people in ths worls and you my friend are a great one.
Your video helped me fix a friend's Panasonic TV! It was exactly what I was looking for to fix the coax connector onto the tuner board. I'm a computer repairman and generally handy with D.I.Y. projects, and your video was just what I needed to help show me how to solder the connector on. Thank you very much!!
Good job on video, good lighting , good sound, nice macro lens work. My little 20 in lcd tv coax female connection in the RV just broke today. Tv’s that are on a swivel mount brings a whole new meaning to stress on this connection. If I can fix this I will install a clamp to hold the coax in place
We do this just a slight bit different. The heat you are applying will if your not careful melt ( even the nylon one)the center of the connector. WE grind off the edge and to expose the copper apply solder to tin the connector. Apply solder to the tuner case and then apply light heat to flow the solder together.
I would have took it a step further by roughing up both the connector and tuner box and put on soldering flux first it will make the solder flow evenly around the connector for a clean professional finish. Also, thanks for the info because i also planning to do the same thing with my TV set.
I have a 27 inch RCA Colortrack crt tv with just an analog tuner, when this thing broke off I took a twin leads 300 to 75 ohms transformer and sodered the leads together then sodered it to the points on the board and it worked just fine.
Thank you very much your video was very clear and very well said I will be able to fix this with no problem I understood everything you said you didn't make it such a long thing and just wanted you to know that you're doing a good job thanks
I have a digital labs portable television that has digital signals and possibly analog signals and my old connector was lost and all I really have to do is snap it on in place and then, the signal will be recognized and the signal will work
@ Allen Vernon, although I myself am not fond of solder around connector, I may find another way.I work on electronics and other day got a Vizio flat screen.Seems the connector is ripped out.Upon inspect I got lucky board not cracked and center of connector still soldered to board oddly connector gone.Seller says coax was ripped out it while her ex ranted over a fight lol. I have worked on tvs but mainly do audio home stuff.MCM not dealt with.Do you know 1).They take Paypal? 2).Gut you on ship? 3).Have a min order amount? 4).I need a direct link to the 1215543 please.I do not see it.I see one that has nut in middle no crimp down on end.I need the one that crimps to plate on tuner or there of.Something tells me this won't be a easy task being a flat screen quam tuner. All fails I got 64 vcrs to dig a connector out of try.Just rather have new part spare me digging for old to get.I have a broke Vizio but again time matter to dig in the darn thing dig for connector.I need a direct link to that part.?
thanks for the video tip sorry can't tip don't have a job I attempted to fix it and only get about 1/3 of the channels that I got before I'm using an antenna for my TV & would really love to get the rest of the channels please do you know if I can run an antenna cable through some kind of converter to the audio video jacks if so where can I get such a converter? If not would it hurt anything to use a digital converter on a TV that don't need it? Thanks again for your video gave me confidence.
The moment you tell the audience where you purchased the replacement connector your filing and the source cannot be heard. Could yo let us know where you got the connector? Thanks.
Magnavox digital to analog television converter antenna in jack seems to be obstructed by a piece of a broken coaxial pin, give any advice and a guesstimate for charge
is there a way to mod a tuner from atsc to dvb-t? I've seen a few tv's over in the states and they look to be quite good for the prices there.. just wanting to get native dvb-t in through one of the tvs from the states.. thanks
I'm having trouble removing the shield from the tuner... my tuner is flat and is not upright like in your installation video (Sanyo) - I feel like im gonna break the damn thing... Oh and can I still use the same parts? I don't really have the option to take my hdtv to a repair shop so can you please give me some advice
Cool you made a video! I didn't know that was you. I get so many friends requests and comments I don't check everyone. Who uses Coax anymore? People should be using at least composite or component and HDMI if running HD. Who am I kidding I got 2 TVs hooked up via coax myself.
I just broke the adapter to my 51 inch flat screen. Will this process still work close to the same way? Or should I not risk it and take it to a repair shop? For now am using HDMI adapter but it doesn't allow CC on it and being deaf... HDMI doesn't help me.
I have a question when you replace the coaxil will the television stop changing the volume on its own because it is from the cable box but not when i use it on the dvd or game player The cable man told me it was my coaxil
I think the cable connector shouldn't' be solded that much.. because if anything went wrong, that would be too hard to remove again. Just connect a bit on two sides, top and bottom then check if cable connector is working fine, then go ahead, sold that all the way in round.
I have a qiuck question, you know the three red yellow and white plugins for a tv how can i fiv one of those because i was trying to plug in my xbox and the yellow plugin fell into my tv i was so angry. But please if you can help me i would deeply love the assistance.
Great video -- I ordered the new connector from your recommended source, everything went smoothly EXCEPT -- I can't screw the cable onto the new connector! Did I overheat the connector and melt the insides? There is a hole in the plastic (inside of the connector) for the cable wire to fit into but I've worn my fingers raw trying to screw the cable onto it. Any ideas?
i juss broke my cable coax buh i have a LCD sony tv how do i fix that?? can you make a video of that or show me a video on how to??cuzz i bought the same radio shack sotter gun i juss need a video on how to??..is it the same with a regular tv?
My son got one of his xbox connecters stuck in the back of the TV he pulled the cord out and the metal part snapped off leaving it inside the back of the TV were the input is at. we don't know how to get it out...any tips?
You only need this connector if yopu use an antenna. IF you have cable, Uverse or DSS or cable service then you do not need this connector. Get a DSS or cable box and a HDMI cable instead.
Wrong. Some older digital cable boxes (from cable TV provider) do not have HDMI or other output types (just F-type coax in and out), so you don't have a choice but to use the f-type coax input connection on a digital tv (digital over coax).

Thanks man, didn't have any solder equipment, but I made do crimping on a piece of copper wire where my connection broke. Way to save me my superbowl!
Very good demonstration and helpful tip for those who unable to afford a new TV
Does anyone know what kind of wire he uses at 3:46? what material, or where to get it etc... can I just strip an old power cable for example. Thanks.
Strip any type of cable ...
This method still works for modern lcd/led TVs. Thank you!

You know this video is old when he said "Radio Shack" lol.
I think you might have just saved me 3 or 4 bucks the repair man wanted. thanx man
Thanks man. Just picked up a used TV with no coaxial connector. Gonna get on that shortly.
