People saying he is not the clear cut #1 in 2020 is just because they haven't seen him play in the last few months or so and have watch the Hlinka 2019 with other eligible 2020 prospects. Just wait till he puts up 2+ pts/game this season. #1 in 2020 hands down!
Watching these replays it looks like he's regressed since joining the Rangers which leads me to believe it's 100% mental. Kid needs to play with confidence and he often doesn't as he goes on dry spells and he's always looking to pass rather than shoot.
O Glorious Hockey Gods, we beg of you not to vindicate Eugene Melnyk and grant him the rights to draft LaFreniere or Byfield next year. Please do not allow Melnyk to get away with his demolition of the Ottawa Senators and be granted an opportunity at a Stanley Cup. Such soulless and avaricious men should not know the taste of the ultimate glory. In the name of Lord Stanley, McJesus, and the Holy Alfredsson, amen.
Malkin is more flashy and physical, but Alexis is more smooth, fast, tenacious and efficient. Maybe someone like Forsberg is a better comparable, or even Beliveau.
Reminds me a bit of Huberdeau with his spot on the PP. Although higher end skill/potential to be superstar. Not sure on Forsberg comparison but he is powerful in the legs like #21 was but forsberg is on of all-time greats. Higher end skill than Behn to but he commands the puck like BenN does. Looks like his feet and or speed need to improve a bit to be a super star in the NHL.
He kinda plays and reads the game like Elias Pettersson. Very smart player with a lot of silky moves. Will be interesting to see how he develops in the chel
Craig button says he plays like Jamie Benn. I disagree, he plays very similar to Nathan Mackinnon. Just a lefty version. I see a mixture of Tavares and Mackinnon
Club Shay Shay shooting of Tavares, skates and playmakes like Mackinnon. He may be physical in this video but I seriously think he’s going to be mostly skill at the NHL level. David Pastrnak was physical in these tournaments and he doesn’t hit in the nhl
I can see why he said Jamie Benn for this particular video but he skates nothing like Jamie Benn. He’s much faster than Benn. The way he playmakes, especially on the power play, is just like Mackinnon
Даже из того что нарезали,половина безрезультатно. Просто красиво. Далеко на красоте парень пройдет? А так да,способный. Талант. Но это пока молодежка. Дальше видно будет. И сравнение с Кросби,как минимум не уместно.
While its true that Lafreniere is very good, i also include shots & all-around play, even for McDavid, because I/others want to see how players generate their chances and play away from the puck. Points-only highlight videos are very quick and easy to make but they don't accurately show a player's complete game. While a 10 min video isn't going to be as accurate as watching all his shifts in 10 games, i still hope viewers can get a more informed impression of the player's game.
Button compared him to a young Jamie Benn. They didn't compare him to Crosby. They just said that he was the first 16 years old to score 40 goals + since Crosby in 2004 !
WELCOME TO NEW YORK ALEXIS!

Yeaaaa he did almost nothing this season, this didn't age well.
@@horrendouss5960 lmao don't worry bud. This guy has crazy potential. It's tough to play as a 18 yo. Jack Hughes did not do shit in his first year to
Yikes😂😂😂
Good to know he’s already getting used to the Edmonton goal horn
Nolan P haters going to hate
didnt age well ;)
You’re mistaking it with the New York horn
Haha kin dumbasses
Glad that didn't happen lol.
Watch him dominate the next WJC! He will be unreal!
10:45. Those moves 😍
he's nice with the spoon its gorgeous haha

100% I'm really hoping the ducks are at least asking what the price tag on him is right now. Kakko too.
se Gars la Est juste Insane Nice !!!
Alexis reminds me of a young Peter Forsberg.
His passing isnt what is impressive. I think its more his way of opening those passing lines to make super easy beautiful passes

Watching the sens loose their first draft pick for duchene was so satisfying a d something you will regret a long time
As a Ottawa fan I want Melnyk gone he is making horrible trades and signings. There’s actually billboards up saying Melnyk out.
@Jordan they have way more than that lmao.
Reminds me of Peter Forsberg and little bit of Crosby and Mcdavid
His style of play reminds me of malkin, he’s already got way better hands than Jamie benn.
Malkin is more flashy and physical, but Alexis is more smooth, fast, tenacious and efficient. Maybe someone like Forsberg is a better comparable, or even Beliveau.
Dudes got 1 point so far in 12 games. Calm down
More of these
I am hopeing that lafreniere is a red wing
Well he's a rangers instead!
*Left Wing
** on the Rangers

He looks like kucherov but without the great shooting ability
Will you upload his highlights of the WJC 2020?

Nicholas Alzugaray he’s more physical than Tavares and mackinnon. Kinda like benn
Sam tavares is a better comparable
Tavares is slow as shit and McKinnon is fast as hell this comment confuses me lol

plays a lot like malkin
Welcome to the Rangers!!!!!🤙🤙🤙

Why put some shots in the highlights
Highlights aren't just goals, assists and defense, its about the plays he makes that help the team, those shots generate scoring chances
Swiss Cheese true i just believe Lafrenière has enough points to make an awesome highlight video and do not need to add some nice unfinished plays
@@rickychardzz honestly that is so true, great point.

bigwhite06 good job on the vid big
Thank god he's coming to Ottawa lol
Please God! Lol
Not if Detroit throws more money his way lol
I wish but knowing Ottawa’s luck he’ll go to Edmonton or something
Ahahahaha
Lol
This could also be a byram passing highlight reel.
2021 Calder/Hart/Art Ross/Vezina/Jack Adams winner! #NYR
he should focus on improving his skating
super vague...what aspect of his skating? That is the equivalent of telling an f1 driver that he needs to improve his driving.
Yeah thats propably his biggest weakness
His skating is good, he's just not a speedster.
his topspeed isn’t the best but he got elite edges and strength
Could be a bit quicker but everything else is elite. Like his edge too.
Future Ottawa Senator
Wassup ASAP :)
😭😭😭😭😭
Future Wing ;)

You mean ranger?
Detroits gonna ruin his potential
shayan malik 1967
I called it before the 2020/21 Draft. He's a Montreal Canadian!
Bruh Bruhs no he’s not lmao, If anybody’s getting the 1st overall pick it will probably be Florida or Ottawa
@@rem1024 no way florida will draft him Detroit will have the best opportunity
Ismail Atalao Yeah that’s agreeable
@@rem1024 thx indeed it is
He’s going to ottawa I’m saying it now
i'm glad that didn't happen, jimmy superstar
Lafrenière is the next McDavid and McDavid hasn't even entered his prime yet.
Calm down! He's no McDavid
Why is tsn comparing him to Crosby. Just stupid

Nicoalex Lafreniere they put Crosby’s numbers in his first year and compared them to his.
Mandalorian Legion because their numbers are comparable, they weren’t comparing their play styles or ability
illtrollurmom I wasn’t referring to play style. Any rookie comparisons to a hofer is ridiculous.
Mandalorian Legion yeah but their numbers are comparable so why wouldn’t they compare him
Jamie Benn on steroids.
5:21 This guy skates like a caveman. Good luck making the NHL as a below-average skater. Get with the times...
B Xx Are you serious? He has great edgework and nobody really has NHL-caliber skating when they’re 16/17 years old. Just you wait until 2020.
Honestly youre just looking for attention
