I remember a documentary on this in which Hal gave an interview, and he said that he thought the lethal injection was too quick and if he had his choice he would have wanted the man to be drowned and brought back 3 times so he could feel what his family members went through.
i once heard of a man trying to get it on with a stallion, he died because a horse's pp is way too much for a human's large intestine. Seeing this guy didn't just drowned them, but diddled them first, I say, drown him the 3 times then give him "the horse."

Props for the hotel manager who, of all people in these stories, took suspicious circumstances seriously and immediately reported it to police. No one ever does that. It may have been too late here, but at least he took it seriously. So many tragedies could be avoided if more people acted like him.

Remembering this story about them being found, then identified, their family came and got them, blissfully unaware of the reason for the trip. Now to know the why brings up those feelings again.

I always have to shake my head when told to beware of strangers. After reading the crime statistics around strangers vs those known to victims, I am much safer w a stranger. Or less likely to be harmed by a stranger.
This story is why I’m thankful my mom raised me paranoid and I raise my daughter paranoid. We’d never have even rolled down the window to talk to a strange man...
Same! Ugh I had bad things happen to me growing up and I’m SO terrified having a 16 year old daughter. We’re extremely close though so I always know her whereabouts ...
Yes! I am so SICK of people being like "oh you shouldn't judge all men blah blah blah" Like, YES, one shouldn't judge all men by some very sick and disgusting men, but you DON"T KNOW who is who till you get to know them. BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY, men's precious feelings be damned. If they were honest, they wouldn't make such a stupid statement, and would be strong enough to say something like "yeah, some people are horrible, don't trust strangers".
Shit, I'm a dude and it used to embarrass the fuck out of me when my dad would become a volunteer scout leader and accompany us on every trip (up until around 15) which now in retrospect I think was the right age, but NOW I am SOOOOOOO thankful that he did
He pushed the daughters overboard first. Imagine the guilt of their mother in those final few moments before he sent her overboard to join them. Heartbreaking. 😔
As a mother... had I watched my kids killed I would have welcomed joining them Poor father.... hope he finds happiness someday ( without his family compounding his grief)
I'm an attorney in Florida who specializes in criminal law, and this case has always haunted me. I didn't even know the reason why the Rogers family was in Florida; that makes this crime even more heartbreaking. One thing about this story that I find interesting is that Chandler, about a year before, had taken another young female tourist out on a ride for his boat using the same scheme. He then raped her, and later told his cellmate that he would have drowned her if she didn't have someone at the dock waiting for her. That young lady came so close to sharing this same terrible fate but in fact testified at Chandler's trial and helped to convict him.
How the hell wasn't he in prison already for rape then 🤦🏼♀️ That's even sadder knowing this could have been avoided. I can't even imagine how the mother felt watching her 2 daughters get ra**ed especially after her older daughter was just trying to get past being constantly abused by her uncle. I don't even understand why anyone would do that to a 14 year old girl shes not even fully developed yet. Thinking about the pain those 3 went through right before death while they were on a vacation is just so saddening.
I can't believe that some people can be so casually evil, it makes me sick. This crime has been covered in other videos. . In this one he didn't go into how the guy was caught. The police had no clue to his identity, only the handwriting. They'd made public his handwriting on the pamphlet, hoping somebody somewhere would recognize it. Turns out his neighbor did, because he was a weirdo who'd written her notes in her mailbox, and she knew of his boat. She called police with her info, which somehow got lost in the tips that were generated. So a good amount of time passed before it was checked and the connection was made.
Mr Ballen, as someone who's struggling pretty hard lately with depression and anxiety, your videos help me make it through the day. I hope you realize that you make the days and nights for a lot of people. Thanks for everything you do Sir

This is heartbreaking beyond belief. As a parent your job is to keep your children safe. Not being able to.... I cannot imagine the horror that mother felt.
And the father who had to live on...he'd have hard time trusting others and lived with the guilt of not being able to protect his loved ones..all in all a really depressing story

I grew up with Forensic Files and so I instantly recognized this guy. I'd like to say that them trusting a stranger and getting onto his boat is an inconceivably bad decision that I'd never make. But my Mom and I threw ourselves into a similar situation in NYC where you have to trust a friendly stranger. In our situation, the guy turned out to be legit despite how shady his operation seemed. @@OnceUponReddit I respect your opinion, so don't take this as me criticizing your beliefs. I myself believe that ending your life should be a human right, we never chose to come into this world. There are many reasons why people's lives are completely miserable, and you should have the choice to humanly end it when they want to. A few countries have this for elderly people who are very ill, saving them from a painfull and horrible death. But why should a person who is so mentally or physically hurt not have the same choice. I do believe it should be a thorough process, where you first have to go to seek medical help, including stuff like doctors and therapy sessions, so it's clear all is done to help you. You should have the right to end your life, and if it's done medically, then you can still gather your friends and family around to say your goodbyes. while you can never do that if the only other option at the moment is the current ways of suicide, where no-one has closure.

Mr Ballen, as someone who's struggling pretty hard lately with depression and anxiety, your videos help me make it through the day. I hope you realize that you make the days and nights for a lot of people. Thanks for everything you do Sir
I know how you feel Tyler. My life is a bit of a shambles atm, and these videos help distract me from my problems and worries. Even if it's just for 15 or 20 minutes. Keep the chin up man! Good luck to ya.

The key is not to give up or become complacent in your current situation. Things WILL get better if you keep moving forward. It might not happen as quickly as you want but it will happen
I've watched almost all stories on Mr Ballen's channel. And this one, is the most emotional one.
So sad 😞 3 women who never stepped out of their comfort zones finally have the chance to travel and this was the result 😥 cannot imagine the pain the husband/father has gone through and continues to go through. This is heartbreaking
This is heartbreaking beyond belief. As a parent your job is to keep your children safe. Not being able to.... I cannot imagine the horror that mother felt.
@@Fcrzy you are wrong my dude....it was hal's mother that didn't believe in her own granddaughter
And the father who had to live on...he'd have hard time trusting others and lived with the guilt of not being able to protect his loved ones..all in all a really depressing story

This right here, is why I'm an introvert, you can never really know people's intentions
It would be boring as hell if we did. Just like having sex with the same partner for twenty years. Are you ocd also?😂😂😂😝😜
Me too
Agreed
I'm an introvert/loner because I know all to well about people's intentions. They're never good.
The last time I checked being introvert was a character trade that is given before you're born. Anxiety however, is a trade that is gained through experience. So which one is you?
I grew up with Forensic Files and so I instantly recognized this guy. I'd like to say that them trusting a stranger and getting onto his boat is an inconceivably bad decision that I'd never make. But my Mom and I threw ourselves into a similar situation in NYC where you have to trust a friendly stranger. In our situation, the guy turned out to be legit despite how shady his operation seemed. So we got lucky. These women just happened to trust a monster.
The mother watching her daughters get assaulted, and then slowly and painfully murdered by drowning. What a hellish nightmare for a parent. This was disturbing.
I hate humanity
or mother on vacation with her daughters is a bad mother b.c she lets herself and kids go on a boat with a stranger
@@timar6868 or you could not say such assholeish things. It was the 90s! My parents put me and my 3 siblings on a boat with a stranger IN A DIFFERENT COUNTRY and it was fine in 2005... you didn’t think of those sorts of things.
@@mayaswellbethewifesaccount7625 actually... i was born in the 90's and thats all parents would warn about.. dont go with strangers, that fear of strangers taking your kids has been around since news papers starting talking about kidnappings etc

GOOD
You are so right! That monster should not have had 22 minutes to live after he was caught!
@DrFreudstein bro I'd be very sad if it was otherwise. We want him to feel the punishment. Most preferably let him rot until very old age like 75+ and then execute him before court replies to another parole wish.
@DrFreudstein you sentence them to death so they will never leave. mercy on execution leads to parole application.
rest is flavor of feeling the scum got what he deserved, at least what humans are capable of providing.
Finds his brother sexually assaulting his daughter just to fund out they got murdered on a vacation. Don't know how anyone could live their life knowing this.
I would go insane.
I’m afraid to google the guys dairy thinking he committed suicide.
Right?
You don't have to agree with me, but I believe committing suicide is a sin. But if this happened to me, I don't think I could live.
This is the worst story yet

I remember this episode of forensic files but you told it so beautifully. Really did justice to the three women’s beautiful but tragic lives
I could see the pain in your eyes as you described these women’s last moments. That would be horrifying on many levels. As a mom of three, I don’t want to think about it
He left out the part where they only found out who he was because the put up a picture of his handwriting on billboard’s in the area. Someone called the police because they recognized the handwriting
Couldn't they just track him through blue white boat.
Josh you are correct. I remember this story and had forgotten about that and now I'm wondering which show it was that aired the story.
They actually had another suspect with a blue and white boat also...
@@gunner4ever924 There are hundreds if not thousands of boats here in Florida that are blue and white and people move their boats all over the state if not elsewhere frequently. Hard as hell to find one unless you have the registration number or the name and even then criminals have been known to paint over and change them.

My dad always told me as a young kid that movies and monsters and all that aren't what you need to fear in life, its other people. And that's exactly why I will never join a random stranger to do a single thing especially with the company of my children. Terrible story but a hard lesson, do not trust smiling faces
