    I am the one who did DTS in Thailand on 2004
    That school it's a wonderful school that change my life and this school also changed many christian life as well a school that makes me know more about God and have intimacy with God and yes I was learn alot about biblical story and know about my identity in Christ that I don't know before. .
    DTS is the best place that God has prepare my life to be a missionary.
    To know GOD and to make him known.

    Oh my goodness this helps me so so much! I leave for YWAM Yosemite DTS this September and this gave me so much peace and encouragement. I watched your other video and midway through I decided to apply for DTS! So thank you for impacting me! I am now on my way in studying and becoming a full time missionary to the 10/40 window! God bless you and cling to Christ!
    OH, and I will be going to Nepal!

      That's cool that you want to be a full time missionary. But YWAM's training isn't even accredited or transferrable credit to colleges, university etc. You should consider doing missions with a reputable missions organization. There are hundreds of them. YWAM unfortunately also charges students a super expensive amounts of money for training, and also staff literally pay YWAM for you or anyone to work for them. Which makes absolutely no sense at all. I was with YWAM and found my experience to be so incredibly dysfunctional and troublesome. Some people even think and consider YWAM to be a cult. I'd look elsewhere to do missions. There are a lot of pitfalls with doing YWAM.

    Thank you so much for posting this! I am 25 and plan on going to YWAM Orlando in January ( I’ll be 26 by then,) and I was nervous about the age thing as well as missions in general! I’m glad y’all took the time to post this! I’m super excited :)

      I've heard of a lot of staff leaving and have quit at YWAM Orlando recently because the leadership are abusive, incredibly controlling and is really dysfunctional there.

    I'm getting ready to do a DTS in September at YWAM San Francisco. Do you have any suggestions for me?

      I just visited there this year. They are doing amazing work helping the homeless in the Tenderloin area. It's heartbreaking to see the needs there with the houseless but so grateful that the YWAM San Francisco campus is really making a difference by living out the Bible and helping the poor in practical ways all week long. Amazing stuff. Really great people there. :)

    Thanks so much for this video and the past one about why I should do a DTS with YWAM! I am 18, fresh out of high school and am leaving for my DTS in September, these videos were super informative and helpful! One question I have, do you feel like you were able to continue your friendships with the other students after your DTS?

    • @LeviVaagenes
      @LeviVaagenes  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Joshua! That's so awesome! I'm glad I was able to give you a little more info about what DTS is all about! The friends I made in DTS are my best friends in the entire world. Those relationships to me are more valuable than the DTS experience itself. Matter of fact, I'm actually moving to North Carolina in a few days to be closer to them! It definitely takes an effort to maintain the friendships because more than likely you'll be from different states (let alone different countries) but I've actually been able to see my friends almost 3 times a year which isn't' too bad at all!

      Levi Vaagenes Thats good to hear! At the moment my best friend lives in Connecticut (I live in TX), so I’ve definitely had some long distance friendships. I’m really glad that you connect well with your fellow DTSers. Having relationships with the people there is really big for me, especially seeing as I’m leaving everything and everyone I know to trust God to supply the way for me :)

    I am getting ready to go to YWAM Orlando. This video is super helpful and I thank you for doing this. I am currently working on getting my fund raising in track and that alone is super rough for me. I have seen prayer is super powerful for preparing for YWAM.

      That's so exciting! I've heard good things about YWAM Orlando. Have some good friends who used to be on staff there! Being prayerful when it comes to fundraising is key! Stoked for you!

      YWAM Orlando is terrible. I know many people who have left and quit because the leadership are controlling, abusive and dysfunctional.

      @@mattmercer7607 I would share that if you haven’t dealt with this personally, I would leave the comments to yourself. I did some research about you before commenting and it appears that you have nothing good to say about them. I will also say I don’t always agree 100% with the way things are handled but I will say they try their best. I am finishing my discipleship training school (DTS) soon. I’ve had good and bad with YWAM but mainly how things were handled on both sides, me and others. They have the intention to call each person higher and into a deeper relationship with the Lord.

      @@bibleandbuddyvlogs ,, I started, pioneered, established and led a YWAM Base. So, I know a lot more about YWAM and experiences than your entry level DTS into YWAM. DTS is the honeymoon stage of YWAM. It will get a lot worse the longer you are in YWAM. YWAM is a pyramid ponzi scheme just using you for cheap labor for those at the top to get rich, make money, and live a good life at your expense.

    Do you get to pick we’re our out reach is?

    • @LeviVaagenes
      @LeviVaagenes  3 роки тому +2

      Yes we got to pick! In my DTS we wrote down our top three picks. Each DTS is different but they gave us like 8 different outreach locations to choose from. The staff try their best to get you your first pick but sometimes you'll end up getting your second or third pick.

    Spiritual abuse is reportedly a significant issue within YWAM's culture. Many of its members suffer from PTSD, which can be costly to treat, and some individuals may never fully recover.
