I would have killed for one of these when I was a kid. I still think about making a cheap Frankie knockoff but I don't play guitar enough anymore to warrant the time or money. Thanks for all the great playing. You rock!
You’re doing it right. Single channel non MV amp, bare bones basic guitar, playing your butt off. Nothing to hide behind. When I first tried a plexi, it scared me a little, because it leaves you very exposed, you have to do the work to make it sing. Now, I love that about it. Separates the men from the boys. Well done!
🎸 If only Eddie were still alive today, how proud he would be to see your tallent Jacob. Thank you for making these videos to keep his music and spirit around for all of us to enjoy!
Jacob it is always a pleasure to watch and listen to you play!!! Just like EVH you have that right hand off doom!! We can hear it coming out of your soul!! ROCK ON!!🤟🤟🤟
Dude, you're such an incredible player! Its like you get even better every time I hear you. If the surviving members of Van Halen, have heard or seen you play....and haven't contacted you yet. It's strictly because of their egos... They are absolutely nuts not to contact you imho. You ever tried getting ahold of Wolfgang? He seems very reasonable, I think you guys would kick ass together . Yourself and your bandmates are incredible players. 👍👍🤙
Jacob, I've been playing guitar for over 45 years and was a huge Eddie fan back in the day. I can honestly say that to this day I have not heard anyone capture Eddie's tone and nuances the way you do. Some have come close but you have it dialed in so good. As much as I enjoy hearing you reproduce Eddie's original sound and energy I also see that you definitely have your own unique style and techniques coming through when you play samples of your own stuff. I can't wait to hear your new originals and especially to go watch you play live somewhere soon - I hope! Keep it up and keep those videos coming! Cheers!
Absolute stunning, mate......Eddie is and will always be alive in each of us The first song I heard in '81 was "You're No Good"......fuck...the hardest solo in the world....like everything he did...and you're good at reminding us of it in your videos..... Thanks buddy....love your playin'
DUDE! As always! THE BEST! THE FEEL! THE TONE! YOU need to be on stage with Roth and Anthony! I hear they may be getting together for a short tour. You're the best!
Those EVH Frankies have mojo. I've had mine since 2021, and the moment I plugged it into my JCM800 Studio, I had a tone and feel I wanted since the 80s. So much so, I've been inspired to learn Van Halen tunes I only dreamed of playing. You've actually taught me a few things over the years lol. I'm no where near your caliber, you can check out my feeble attempts at VH tunes on my channel lol. I'm really enjoying these recent videos you've been posting, keep on rockin!
I've got the black and white standard version with floyd rose (branded one of course) and for me It 's the best hard rock/metal/blues guitar for the price. It holds the tuning quite amazingly, the pick up is hot but very harmonic and the treble bleed circuit is a must have! And for the giggin musician, having the possibility to adjust truss rod from the heel is actually really useful. Of course i'm a EVH fanatic too
Hey brother you definitely got the fingers an the tone evh Frankie is an an amazing guitar i have the Frankie an the 78 evh an the bumblebee love them all awesome video as always
Cool little history on the EVH Frankenstein guitar. I also like hearing the riffs from VH inspired guys like Nuno Bettencourt. Give Vito Bratta some love too! 🎸🙂
Bought one when they came out. I know some people had a few issues but luckily mine was great right off the rack. Effortless playabilty, super resonant and the pickup sounds great for a rock machine. Love these guitars
Dude, you are a BEAST!!!!!!!! I can't wait till your new album drops, I will be the first in line!!!!!!!! I can't to hear what kind of new shit you are gonna do!!!!! I love how you can just switch gears and go from one groove to and another and just totally change the vibe and make it seamless!!!!! As a guitar player myself, sometimes watching someone play, I can loose my interest and become less engaged. But you keep me rooted and very interested in to what you are going to do next!!!!! You have MAD skills, and I can't wait to hear your original stuff!!!!!! Thanks for all that you do and know that you have fans!!!!!
Congratulations Jason on the new album. So many frankies being sold out there I imagine there's one for everybody. What does this one bring to the table. Affordability etc etc
After you put fresh strings on, before locking down the nut clamps, if you tighten down the string retainer bar (behind the nut) so that the strings all lay down completely (contacting the metal all the way to the “back side” of the nut), then your strings won’t go sharp from clamping down the nut clamps. It looks like that string retainer bar is sitting WAY too high. Just something that might be helpful.
Man , I close my eyes and Eddie is right in front of me jamming away , open them & there you are ….. absolutely the BEST at playing a bunch of his Riffs . So fucking hot the Lava lamp on top of the Marshall head is rising up ….. and the Lamp’s NOT EVEN PLUGGED IN … 😏😎👍👍👍
I have a Boogie body Strat built 1978 from Seattle. Koa Wood body and a maple flame neck. Original Floyd Rose and EMG Pickup upgrades. My favorite lead guitar go to. Like my SG for rhythm . I prefer .046 to .010 E to E gauge strings. 😊
If you weren't aware, the neck pickup is functional! I switched the standard volume for a push pull (up- neck, down - bridge) and wired the neck pickup for someone who requested for me to do the mod. It actually sounds really good! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
That is a cool guitar. Did you see they came out with 2 other Frankenstein Pickups? One is called the Frankenstein Classic. 8.2k output. Might be cool with that guitar. I am saying that for myself anyway. I thought about buying one of these and swapping out the pickup. I was also looking at the white VH1 Franky that have. That one is also cool... but harder to keep in tune!
Marshall super leads are clean amps. When dimed on 10 they have such a distinct tone than can be achieved with no other amp. When plexi are dimed, they produce a natural distortion but the cleanliness is still there. Because there’s no gain with these amps they are not easy to play through especially when soloing. Jacob you’ve proven right here that tone is in the hands.
I have got one of the Fender Custom Shop Frankie that was made back in 2007, it is a really great guitar, plays and sounds very good! The MIM Frankie is also a good one for its price. BTW; recently got an OX, what are your settings on it? Awesome playing! 🤘🎩
Man, Somebody Get Me a Doctor has to be the most raw VH riff there is. Shit gets me every time
So fucking good
Pure class. Your swing feel on sinners swing and beautiful girls is just impeccable!
Jacob - the spirit of EVH possesses your soul.
If this was just audio, I would swear this was EVH playing
that was the best 'somebody get me a doctor' playing i have ever seen.
super inspired!
Someone get this man a Washburn 4N, stat! Those Nuno riffs need a home!
I would have killed for one of these when I was a kid. I still think about making a cheap Frankie knockoff but I don't play guitar enough anymore to warrant the time or money. Thanks for all the great playing. You rock!
YEAH BUDDY! Always a great day when I wake up to a new video from you.
This guy’s picking technique is everything. Unbelievably tasty - that right hand makes the rhythm, and this kids got “it” dialed.
That was an Extreme -ly awesome display of your Frankie!
I love that you played Decadence Dance! Nuno is so good.
One of my favorites from back in the day!
You’re doing it right. Single channel non MV amp, bare bones basic guitar, playing your butt off. Nothing to hide behind. Keep cranking these out Jacob. Maybe some "How to play this riff" type series videos. Superb content.
I never get tired of watching you Jacob, as you are an amazing player, keep rocking and thanks for the short EVH history lesson.
Your guitar playing blows me away Jacob. Always a fan of yours.
🎸 If only Eddie were still alive today, how proud he would be to see your tallent Jacob.
Thank you for making these videos to keep his music and spirit around for all of us to enjoy!

Man, you play really cool. The energy and delivery is incredible

Love hearing some Nuno. That guitar I will own one day. Not affordable right now. Twins on the way...Keep jammin'!!
Seriously, that guitar sound is unreal. Much personality and a powerful voice. Jacob's playing on Somebody Get Me a Doctor is out of this world good.
Been watching you for a long time, you rock 🎸
Decadence Dance! Nice dude!
Lâche pas mon homme...t'es le meilleur!!!
Sounds great, love the new amp.
It would be really interesting to hear you play some of the Sammy era guitar parts with Eddie’s classic guitar sound.
I love your playing, EVH would approve.
Great playing. Authentic tone. Luv it.
That Wolfgang pickup is great pickup ! I couldn’t believe how good it sounded when I got my striped series white and black , you rock man!!
Beautiful guitar and tone
Great video man you got some awesome chops
Seeing and hearing someone capture Ed's vibrato is so strange... Always impressed.
i have goose bumps... the energy is right there!
Absolutely enjoyed this video!
Absolute stunning, mate......Eddie is and will always be alive in each of us

Dude that was totally bad ass! Well done!
Ya got it goin on! Wow, good tone too.
DUDE! As always! THE BEST! THE FEEL! THE TONE! YOU need to be on stage with Roth and Anthony! I hear they may be getting together for a short tour. You're the best!
Maybe the best rock guitarist around at the moment.

Awesome as always!
What a beast!!
Alex, look! It’s Deraps with another EVH Frankie video!
Bought one when they came out. I know some people had a few issues but luckily mine was great right off the rack. Effortless playabilty, super resonant and the pickup sounds great for a rock machine. Love these guitars

Eddie is channeling through you, great job!
Hell YA !!"
Absolutely huge! Great video and playing dude.
To the T Brother! EXCELLENT playing 👍
You sure put alot of energy in your playing. You have the Eddie vibe going on. Very nice man

I’m still dreaming of building a Musikraft frankly. And I’m going to do it someday . Awesome vid though.
Rippin!

Eddie's soul is within you man !!!
Ed's most proud protege.....has to be (besides his own son I guess). Peace brother , you Jam.
Even though the grr doesn't have a treble bleed, when turning down volume there is really no treble loss....thats the beauty of plexi
When he played on the star fleet Bryan may album looks like the danelecto neck I could be wrong great album
Classic
Yes man
Sinner’s Swing is such an underrated tune
Always a treat! Sometimes i think Guthrie Govan has go for Charvel because off Franky...
I had one of these and made some upgrades and sold it on as my Mills custom Frankie made it feel like a toy.
🤩
If you weren't aware, the neck pickup is functional! I switched the standard volume for a push pull (up- neck, down - bridge) and wired the neck pickup for someone who requested for me to do the mod. It actually sounds really good! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I own one of these and can say they are fucking great.

Excellent demonstration and superb playing! My wife is about to be very unhappy with you….
I don’t put hardly any Van Halen sound in my music I’m me but when I’m home it’s on like donkie cong thanks man Love all😊
SAMMY SHOULD HAVE OFFERED YOU THE PART FOR HIS BEST OF ALL WORLDS TOUR ,JOE'S GOOD BUT YOU GOT ED'S LICKS AND TONE DOWN!!! KEEP ROCK-N BROTHER!!
Would love to hear how this guitar sounds in drop C or C standard
🤘🤘🤘🤘

Awesome playing! 🤘🎩
You should be touring
👍👍🍺
Well looks like I’m playing Van Halen all day now 🤙🏽🤘🏽
Where are the red and amber reflectors on the back 😅
Inspirational playing. Curious. How tall are you?
Between this and your Kramer which do you like better?
Superb playing. Only thing I don't like about the EVH Frankie is the 'cheap' Floyd Rose, anyone upgraded it to a Gotoh 1996T?
The Hard Rock Big 3 is made of Van Halen, Extreme and Mr Big (in my opinion) :)
