I personally reckon most of the hype around high end guitars is just marketing. They need to convince you they're prestige and elite to get you to part with your money! Lol
@@noodle845 There is a significant difference in the quality of materials and amount of handwork on higher end guitars than import CNC factory line guitars. Great review and demo. I think one thing you could check on all the guitars is the pickup height. Not essential, but is a setup step. I am super amazed that this is a 99 pound guitar.
that and a set of Warmans (33 quid!!) would be awesome, took your advice and bought some Warmans for my partscaster and it now has an epic sound, thanks for the heads up and another great review, cheers

It really is quite shocking what you can get for around $100-200 now if you know where to look. Good on Andertons. I also watch a lot of their stuff. I have been very curious of how these guitars hold up but would never see a reason to buy one (in the US). The hand tight thing from Phil is a great way to show how smooth frets are. I am pretty sure "Bloomin' Marvelous' IS on Phil's scale. This channel is just a breath of fresh air!

I bought one of these on the strength of the Andertons vid. Came with a roasted Maple neck and bridge humbucker. I have to say, for the price, it's just amazing. I was going to just have it as a house guitar but I've ended up gigging with it a few times as it's bloody lovely to play
Another great video - I look forward to these weekly. I bought a Donner Les Paul style guitar to learn on. At a little over £100 new it’s a great little guitar for the money. Your videos have given me the confidence to have a go at modding it and having a go at setting it up - thank you.
I tried a Les Paul years ago and being a Fender sort of a chap for donkeys years, I hated it, however a few months back I decided to try again and bought an East Coast Gold Top LP shaped object, it was by far the best set up guitar, out of the box, Ive ever had, regardless of cost and brand, of course I sold it and bought a proper one. The Captain said that when they commissioned the East Coast brand, that they spent an extra 10 dollars on fit, finish and setup compared to the other budget brands, this has clearly paid off. God only knows how they can sell a Strat for 99 quid mailed, loss leaders I guess… Another cracking vid Paul, can you make one every day please? 😂
That's an interesting bit of info about the extra $10 spent by Andertons, it shows that you can specify levels of 'cheapness' from those factories. Shrewd move by Andertons. They're not the only shop that sells Eastcoast in the UK so I wonder what level the other vendors selected?
He's said in videos before the thought process is they don't really make anything on these, but it's more likely to keep beginners playing if they get a good starter guitar which leads to more sales down the line as people keep playing.
