This was a seriously high quality honest review. I had all the same opinions about it and came home with a used loaded low-mile 2013 steel bodied FX4 SuperCrew 5.0L instead of the new EcoBoost XLT (for the same price). I have 4 turbo cars that make cooler noises naturally than the EcoBoost can. That EcoBoost laughs at everything in my driveway because it can out-tow all of it. Both engines win in very different ways. Everything you said about the entertainment system could not have been any more accurate. I'm struggling to like it in an acceptance kind of way. My '99 F-150 XL only has a 4-button AM/FM radio. Double-DIN, too. It could be worse. Just like in 1999, the new entertainment center is out-dated straight from the factory.
That pole sequence was hilarious :) Love your videos man, no other UA-camr can get me to watch a review of an F-150 or any other truck for that matter, but you managed to make it entertaining. Also, just gotta say, your production value is second to none with the music, graphics, and camera work.
I still don't understand all the negative talk about the aluminum body Ford pickup. In the trucking industry, we've had aluminum cab bodies for many decades now. Peterbilts were the only truck which featured all aluminum hoods, cabs, and sleepers. For a few years Kenworth trucks had aluminum cab bodies plus the optional aluminum frame chassis. Freightliner and International truck cabs are also exclusively aluminum and have been for a very long time now. People this is not new technology, 80% of all semi-trucks have aluminum bodies and 100% buses are all aluminum and have been for decades. I'm just glad it's finally trickling down to the automotive industry and with Ford as the industry leader, they naturally had to take the first step. Unlike stamped steel body panels that can be repaired in body shops after a crash, with aluminum you simply replace the damaged body panel and move on.
i own this an xlt. and this truck is amazing compared to any other. i rented a 15 ram and it is nice but just that just nice. ford hit a home run with this truck so all you haters either havent drove one or just biased to your brand. great review and by far the best truck built.
Anyone watching this more recently….the sync (infotainment system) can be easily swapped out with later model versions, up to sync 3.4 (carplay/android auto and a much snappier response). Do that and this truck is basically modern.
Dude you do the most informative, professional and entertaining car reviews I''ve ever seen on youtube or TV. You deserve so many more subs and views on your videos, other channels just churn out trash and get way more than you. I hope you get to review the new Focus RS! What are the chances?
Charles Norris seriously? are you comparing a vette to a GT? Does the silverado offer a panoramic roof or massaging seats? Lol even the GT350 offers a flatplane crank v8 and carbon fiber wheels.
redd7188 I can tell you have zero knowledge on cars and trucks.. do your research... when he drove the mustang in the rain he was about to spin out of control... the Vette is on the same level as a Ferrari....
Charles Norris seriously?? A Ford GT not a Mustang GT this is what I'm talking about www.caranddriver.com/features/2017-ford-gt-supercar-25-cars-worth-waiting-for-feature
redd7188 your knowledge is limited it's actually laughable.. you're something else... that ford gt is 400,000... the corvette z06 is 80,000.. the gt barely beat the corvette z06... you're speaking from your heart, not facts.. You just like Ford that's why you are defending it ... I love Chevrolet Silverado but I have enough sense to know that Toyota Tundra is better.. because it's a fact.. look on UA-cam and look at the z06 and GT, the gt barely beat it..
Got a king ranch last May and within 3 or 4 months the massaging feature in the front seats quit working. Also my MPG commuting is around 17 but I added a Peragon bed cover and boosted that up to around 18. Probably does better on the highway. Love the ride, the roof, the quality of the interior, and its a head turner. Overall I will likely own this truck for a long time.
You have one of the most impressive videos ever. Seriously. Outstanding info, presented masterfully! I hesitated to even watch this review, just do to another truck review... Yea. As an 2012 Ford F-350 owner, which I am seriously impressed with... I applaud you on a seriously outstanding video presentation of the Ford F-150! All the best to you! Tim H.
Its sad I had to finally get this review now...its the most honest and fun review I've ver seen. My only problem is the negativity toward the refinement capabilities and sound of the Eco Boost. It cant be easy to do what they did in this much time. That EB3.5 has been around since 09 but in trucks since 11. Ford has been listening to the whining since then...I doubt anyone with another similar application can do much better. It is what it is!!! Great review 10 out of 10!
I'm totally hooked on your reviews. top notch filming, oddly funny, very informative, and I love the way you stay as unbiased as you can be. I wish you could review my 2014 kia optima sxl turbo. great work and keep the videos coming!
My first truck was an XLT, my second truck is a 2016 Lariat, and my next truck I want a friggin King!! King Ranch has always been that truck I've been working up to!! There is no other truck that would change my mind except for a Raptor but thats only because I'll never be able to afford one LOL...Great vid man! Awesome truck!!
I just recently discovered your channel and it didn't take long for the subscribe button to be clicked. I really enjoy your reviews. You have a refreshing new way of doing them and the video/production quality great. I particularly like the Shoppe. Keep up the great work!
Well Done Sir !! This guy knows how to talk and review a product with correct articular manner and a non-biased point of view throughout the entire video, something most people producing review videos completely ignore and/or miss !! I'm a fan !!
+Lew Scagnetti Thanks! Appreciate it, some of the earlier works could not strike that balance but there is big effort placed on this aspect. Glad you noticed.
Great review. Not a truck fan but your production was fantastic and keeps getting better and better. Was worth it. All about being able to run right thru the back set area lol.
+1. Great truck analysis. Fords aluminum chassis/body bet was reasonably safe... using its 700,00 unit annual truck segment's economy of scale. Scott's reference to the HUGE cost of these upscale trucks didn't go unnoticed; What $55k to 75K for a cuss'in truck? Knock $10K off the Monroney Label and I'll get out to lock the front hubs like the old days. Trucks have come a long way baby ....... !
It's interested hearing the speculation of future aluminum bodied Ford cars with the hindsight of them discontinuing all but the Mustang in North America.
I am in the market for one of these trucks but only a 2018. Thank you.. between this review the raptor review and the 2018 f-150 video you made i have a lot more real information to work with. I'm a long time subscriber and enjoy your reviews and video content, just saying thanks
Ford, this truck looks great, is lightweight, and fuel efficient (especially with the 2.7), please focus on making it RELIABLE, it would really seal the deal for me
Great video and review. The quality of you videos are amazing. The ford is nice but I would love to see you do a video on silverado high country for us Chevy truck guys. Keep those great videos coming.
Ethan Coats If you don't need a truck, why would you buy them? They are huge, bad on gas, and expensive as fuck compared to cars. I bought my new Tacoma for twice what you could buy a loaded commuter car for.
I absolutely hate the Carbonboost in the F150 because you have two delays/surges of power. You have the first surge where you mash the pedal and the computer decides whether to open the throttle body 5 percent or 100 percent and then after it figures it's shit out you have the second surge of power from the turbo lag.
I wish he would stop with the manual shifting mode, I want to see how the truck's automatic transmission works. How many people are ever going to use the manual shifting anyway?
I bought a 2016 Super Crew Sport 4x4 last summer. Traded in my '13 Stang which I had destroyed with mods. That's not easy to admit, but dayum if it didn't look cool.
Another great review! (Though its a truck) A cool thing about this truck is that the aluminum comes from Alcoa which is local to my area(Quad Cities). Also how loud were the messaging seats? I test drove a 2013 Ford Taurus SHO and the messaging seat were very loud and had this very step like feel to them(Would pump air in, stop, then pump air in a different spot).
Justin Kelly You would not hear the air blow off but definitely the inflators were noticeable. I liked them, turbowski did not. I did not even notice the noise with radio on.
savagegeese Yeah it wasn't really the blow off noise (If any) but the inflators were really loud and the motion was not very "linear" if you get what I mean...
I'd be curious what your take on the Taurus SHO would be. Yours and Scott's, I should say. With that same twin turbo ecoboost V6 in a 4500lb "luxury-'Murican" sedan... there just aren't many full scale reviews on it, and I think I would enjoy you either praising it or thrashing it. It's in my Top 2 list for next vehicles. Having trouble deciding between it and a SH-AWD 6MT Acura TL.
savagegeese I'd definately be interested in an SHO video. Better yet a Focus ST video, I'd imagine similar to the RS just cool that it's so inexpensive.
Beware People. The new 2015 f150 are having premature warped dash issues. Many owners been having this problem including myself. And many of the trucks sitting on lots all over the country have warped dashes. Buyers beware. This is unacceptable for a brand new vehicle.
Did you mention how the staggered shocks did or did not help back end bounce? I know you raised it but not sure I heard this addressed later in the rest of the review.....
Body of the F150 is aluminum but the bumpers are still steel. I'd rather replace a rusted bumper than rusted cab corners and floors and bed wheel arches!
The previous F150 seemed to emphasize comfort more than the current one. I just got a new F150 last week and the seats and head restraints seem thinner. Is that really the case?
So, professional looking graphics, high definition video, awesome truck, and........dude in a corn T-shirt. Damn.
Who wears a corn shirt.....HE DOES! Lol! :-)
All his car reviews have a certain sad undertone. I like it.
+copyrat Its mostly sarcastic.
It's hard to tell whether you're being sarcastic or serious at times.
Because all new cars are laughable

it is not simple to replace truck bed panel, will cost thousands, compared to home bondo spray can fix of the dent or scratch on steel panel.
Aluminum is trash
