Yay new Icarus video!! On repairing Workshop items, you can send them back up to the station through the Orbital Exchange, then repair them after returning to the character selection in the Workshop. Saves having to unlock the Repair Bench and Workshop Repair kit, and building the Repair Bench. Also, the Repair Bench hasn't been updated for the new electrical system, so it always takes energy, even when not in use. I manually turn my off. I had much of the same experience on the first attempt of this mission. I tried it as a single mission and bailed out as I was so unprepared. Then tried it in my OW where I crafted: full suit Heavy Obsidian armor with tier 4 Health Regen mods, 100 ea slug and cold steel shotgun ammo, picked up the Mercenary Backpack from the workshop and 3 good foods. On the 2nd attempt, the boss glitched and teleported to a ledge just above the cave. I was able to cheeze it pretty quickly there as it couldn't damage me. The 3rd time I tried it again as a single mission and had the full fight. It was a lot of fun! I've watched some videos on this mission where people use only Workshop items and finish it in about 20min. It's wild to watch, and a great way to farm Red Exotics. But not something I would find fun!! Oh and they really need to fix the difficultly for that mission as it's easily 3💀, if not 4. Good luck on your next attempt, I cannot wait to watch. Great video, great series!! More please and thank you!
@@BlondeDon Had to check your skill tree real quick, and I don't think you need to level up. I'll +1 to other commenters mentioning food and armor from that quest be a big help. You're spot on the prepare part, and I know you can do it!
There Was smal cave nearby get inside the Spider its big to feet in . Then used the combination of explosive ammo and super cold ammo on the legs and so on
Get Obsidian armor. Get health potions. Get 3-4 different meals that add both stamina and mostly health. Then aim for the belly or mouth of the creature. Use shotgun as it does splash damage. Maybe even trap and train a few wolfs to help you. Also. build a forward base in the biome of the fight. Not only useful for this encounter, but in the future. Always good to have a few forward positions
we had scouted the area before we ran across him. we retreated to a cave and stayed inside the entrance. he couldnt get into the cave and we just blasted him.
First, you were damaging it, second like many said, obsidian armor + 2 lowburn module from the station will give you a fire protection of 99%. it's also better to concentrate your cold steel ammo on the shotgun and not spread around a bunch of weapons. Now it depends how much prepared you want to be. In my case I had the advanced calibrate grip attachement. -30% Stamina Consumed by Tool Actions, -20% Wear Rate of Items (and weapons) You can also put attachement on your weapons, not your bow from the station As for me, yes I defeated that huge spider but I am always over preparing. Oh!, and nice video as always!
First of all you do not need to go down into the lava area move round the left side on the ridge and lure him back and there is also a cave on the left side you can hide in that he can not fit down
Try poison arrows, get up onto the flat area nearby no need to fight in the lava. Health restoration pots and bigger food buffs will all help.take the obsidian armour from the base where you got the furnaces, much better fire/heat protection
Okay let's see in my opinion turn the really cool rock base the one that was off the ground with all the spiders in the one relay on it that didn't get blown up into a Forward operating base. Also I'm going to assume obsidian armor will help you deal with the heat and or at least give you armor that isn't trash to shit while you're trying to get your stuff back. Also set one of the beds in that base to respawn point. And those are my suggestions to help without looking up how to actually destroy the giant lava spider creature
the obsidian armor that you didn't pickup from the electric armor bench have the best physical resistance in the game and if u give it attachment you might have 80+ damage reduction from boss attack. funny thing is I beat the boss just with my axe on my axe focus builds playtrough
Great storytelling as always. Can't wait to see next attempts. Just one request - DO NOT watch gameplay of this mission or you risk spoling its final discovery. Take as much time to prepatr ad you need, even make a full episode for extra leveling and prepping - proper armor and ammo and of course food. Maybe even bring tamed pets to fight?
I promise I won't! I don't like stories like this getting spoiled, so I usually avoid any videos on gameplay as I'm playing through it myself. I definitely need a LOT more preparation. What you'll see in the next episode is I already lost another pet going back and didn't even fight the "Little Friend" 😅
Why didn´t you just unload it with the shotgun? Instead you use the bow and pistol? Other than that great run and I hope you will beat the boss next time
@@BlondeDon haha nope. Get some armor piercing ammo too and ofc go back and get that obsidian armor. It will protect u if u fall in the lava... oh, and some health potions 👍🏾
i was hoping for a new video of the greek game, but this is alright but i do wish if you could focus on advancing on the story instead the building we still have to find out why the radio guy was so spook from the other mission and why is the space CIA acting so shady on a black op you did.
Working on the next episode of Dawn of Defiance now :) And I'm following the Story Operations down the line, so I'm not sure if I missed something in that or not
i feel like you've got bored of this game a bit, by the way you skipped the grind and preparations. and you just didn't have the usual excitement and energy you've always had. i enjoyed the video nonetheless, just thought to share my thoughts with you. gg ^^
I appreciate the honest feedback. It's not that I got bored, but a few factors can affect the videos as I record (like it gets extremely hot in my room and hard to record - I'm literally sweating while playing lol). I didn't skip much of the grind/prep because there wasn't too much done. But, if had gone out to mine, there'd be more shown on that. But because I *thought* I was prepared, I didn't do nearly enough prepping. Going forward, I'm going to be grinding this character to level up and expand the base as well. I took my time in my first Icarus series, I just have to remember to slow down.
You really need to do the miasmic mission. the miasmic pickaxe gives you the equivalent of 6 ore for every one mined.
The fight is super EPIC.. also the music and the area are crazy and almost cinematic. amazing video Don..

Titanium - found in the lava biome and the arctic biome if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the tips! I'll keep that in mind. Unfortunately, because I dropped the armor on the ground, I think it's gone forever now :(
you can literally just send the bow back up, repair it, and send it back down to yourself... takes 10 seconds and like 20 yellow currency.
You might want to check out DannyRothko's ICARUS Veteran Fresh Start series, particularly ICARUS IN 2024 - Thanks & Goodbye - Veteran Fresh Start Gameplay [21].

Dam been waiting for you to finish the other game, Are you going back to it.
Which one? I have a few series going right now
@@BlondeDon the space 1.

Get creative. Scout area, set up spikes, walls, maybe set turrets around battle area. That's how you beat it.
Definitely. Especially now that I know what to expect

still waiting for planet crafter
I'll be getting to it soon, I promise! I can't just unlock teleportation and leave it 😅
