@BlondeDon Another nifty video. Thank you. The only thing, if you closely observe your buffalo, especially after the individual stalls being built, that it won't be able to easily use the barn, if at all. This is because the cart is activity or mission specific and not really ideal or meant to always be worn. If you're not hauling loads, take it off and see how mobile, lively and less glitchy your Buffalo has suddenly become. 🙂
Hmm nice. Personally i would have made a second story and put the wolf beds there and use the rest of the space on first floor for the water and food throughs. Makes sense in a kinda realistic way to have heavier animals on the first floor in case they break through the floor. I don't know if you can attach specific animals to certain beds though 😅.

try out the stone brick set it looks better than stone but it's kinda expensive you need like 40 stone for one wall/floor/ramp you know. and an another thing i want to say is that in the hunting section in the skill tree there's an skill you can unlock called big game hunter it makes it so you can se world bosses on the map, i think it's quite good but i understand why some people don't like it.
Yay barn-ness!! Barn looks really good, love the stalls with half-walls, never thought of that! I used clay brick for one of mine, too. I rotated the roof pieces to make a nice V rather than ZZ. Mine is almost the same size and I made the front with two regular windows and below with the connected windows so it looks like a little face 😑. I wish they had painting options. I would build a concrete one and paint it red, then use white beams to make that traditional red and white barn look. On the animals not being able to get in, there is an unwalkable space on the corners of stairs, so when there are two together, there is a larger space that they seem to get caught on. Easy fix though, switch to ramp variant and the unwalkable area goes away. I've had the same experience on the craft tool missions, they are always for items I have not unlocked. I'm convinced that it's coded to do that. Great video, thanks!
It is not that barn looks like your base, you just have been living in a barn all that time! 😁 Jokes aside, your base would benefit from that interior wood pieces too. Especially railings, beams, maybe even stairs and doors. In fact, I have a vague memory there were some metal reinforced(?) door pieces that could potentially look god with scoria bricks style. Definitely a lot of options to unlock and play around with but that base refurbish is long overdue. You just have to get to it soon! Now for the barn itself, you left a few wood beams in there (front wall ones are an eye sore). But here is an idea - how about mixing clay bricks with a few regular bricks beams? They have similar texture but different color. This could maybe create nice accents and break the heaviness of barn front wall. And finally, it looks like only wold know how to use barn. You sure rest of animals is not on stay order? P.S. I bet you would have manage to protect drone if only you got the ammo. Not sure if rewards would justified amount of ammo used, but you got to 70-ish % without it, so definitely doable.
I think you would have been fine with that drone mission if only you were better prepared with shotgun ammo - probably more than what you left accidentally behind, but a good 50 shots at least would get you through it. Those worms can be taken out with your bow, it's just the large animals that need faster fire rate and more power. Don't give up on it!
the reinforced wood is definitely worth it. it has more HP than stone building pieces. it's a bit expensive, but way better than having to repair regular wood constantly. 5000 HP reinforced wood vs 2500 HP stone
You said you like the look of the stone building materials better than the others but you didn't mention stone brick (Tier 3, pretty much the very end of the Tech Tree). Have you considered using that instead? It's kind of expensive to build with it (so maybe later in the series) but if the aesthetic is an important factor to you it's worth considering. I can confirm there has been some weirdness with releasing wolves from traps. For me I wasn't getting the extra rope but I had to spam the release button a few times to get it to finally work. Hopefully the next update will fix it. I actually think your lack of ammo was the biggest roadblock to completing the drone mission. However, you could also build some structures to help keep you up and out of harms way and perhaps protect the drone. Also getting your moa up into a protective structure can help prevent an unwanted long walk back to base (like I've never done that before!!!). Keep the awesome Icarus videos coming! 🙂
Recently subscribed. I’m loving your icarus videos. I have a stupid question. How do you plant on the ground and not on the plots? 😂 I just downloaded the game 2 days ago, and there’s so my much stuff I have to learn 😂
Welcome! And to plant in the ground, I believe you just need a shovel to dig a spot and it should show a round plot of dirt on the ground that you can throw a seed into. They changed things up with it recently, but I *believe* that should work
You got me to play tonight to get those corner stairs but I didn’t see them when I held R. Is that a half piece? I just realized I forgot to check the regular ramp. Also, I hate drones too!
Eventually! It's part of the Prometheus map, but I want to progress further in this playthrough before going into the Null Sector especially since it's even more challenging than regular Prometheus

I think that would be really good but from what I've seen with the animals and stairs, they don't go together very well lol

Little tip here. Make slugs for your trench gun. Way more damage. Takes platinum sheath's but way worth it. Mammoth's drop easier.

I didn't think of the stone brick, but I'm sure I'll unlock that at some point! And the shotgun shells mistake definitely cost me the mission
