As a professional Electrical Engineer the one thing I'd specifically recommend to you at this stage is to put a firewall between the batteries and your hair. Just in case. You want them to fail outward, and leave enough time to get the helmet off if they go into thermal runaway. Some thin 0.020" aluminum sheet with woven nomex cloth on the interior side works perfectly.

Coming from a gun guy, for the magazine ammo tracking it might be easier to track the vertical position of the follower inside the magazine rather than measuring the pressure the spring is exerting on the bottom of it. Might be something to look into, I feel like there's less chance for misreads and errors. I know there are round counter systems on real firearms that do just that using magnets on the follower and a sensor yo get a reading

I had a thought when you turned on the lights on your helmet. Something that the Halo devs probably never considered: light discipline is very important in the military. If you build a fully functional MJOLNIR suit complete with layers of armor and strength and movement augmentation, someone is eventually gonna knock on your door wanting it. My point there being this, current technology leans away from emitted light and weapon mounted thermal scopes in favor of helmet mounted thermal scopes. Helmet mounted obviously has the advantage of highlighting thermal returns wherever the wearer looks. In looking at your design, it appears that it wouldn’t take much of an adjustment to your design to add in thermal sensors and route them to your display. Is this something you’ve considered adding to your suit?

    Regarding the external audio feedback:
From someone who knows some stuff about audio, what you might consider is the human auditory spatial awareness. With just one microphone for each ear, you’ll only perceive if a sound is coming from the left or the right and how loud it is. If you for example would have two microphones in a horizontal x-y setup on each the side of the helmet(which take the least amount of space) you would be able to tell if something is sounding in front of you or behind you!
Another suggestion is to put a microphone and speaker in the front and back of the helmet as well, giving you some type of 4.0 surround(if the sound from the back and front mounted speaker can travel inside the helmet and not be overly muted by the things in the helmet).

Germanium could be your answer for sticking a visr over the hololense sensors, its what FLIR use for their lenses, because its a non silicate based crystalline glass it allows IR to pass through it, its also ridiculously tough but very pricey however you could make a 2 part VISR that has germanium covering the sensors and the transparent aluminium for the rest of the VISR, also i cannot tell you how long i have been searching for the that full chemical name for transparent alumium, google has been infuriating as far as search results go 😂 been needing it to make a texture for a CAD model im working on 🙄🙄

With the air intake system, have you considered adding a Four Gas detector? The GX-3R is only 100g, and quite discretely sized. If you can integrate it into the same system as the pressure shutoff, you can walk into a potentially toxic environment, and still have enough air to get out once the alarm goes off. Just an idea, could add a lot of work, but also a very handy system to have, in case of emergency

14:00 Just thought I'd ask. You said you're getting a sample of the transparent aluminum for testing: do you plan to just stick it in front of the lenses and see if everything works well?
I ask, because I'd be curious if the curve of the visor mixed with the gap between the lens and visor could bunk it up, even if it tests well just slapping it in front. Like pulling your glasses half an inch from your face. Basically, if it focuses any. Another worry being that a shaped piece may not be quite as transparent as a flat piece, thinking like angled tank armour making greater effective thickness, but swap the armour for obstruction and the shell for light.
Also, a tad worried about the backup batteries just being stowed away in the frame. I gotta imagine those would be hell the access if needed once fully assembled and I get skittish about batteries being used for funky stuff without dedicated shielding. Perhaps you could move them to the rear of the helmet, and have an access point where the slot for AI/the neural implant is? One location would also make it easier to have some solid shielding without nearly as much limit on space.

For the suit and helmet electronics, depending on how much you want to integrate the circuits/electronics into the armor/subframe you could do electroplated plastics to help reduce weight/form the circuits into the plastic components, some car companies use it for the antennae. 3-d printed parts can be iffy for some of the pre electroplating process due to the striations if done by filament, but if you print it you may be able to find a mom and pop plating shop to do it for you.

Have you considered having your weapon mounted camera built into the frame of an optic for the AR? you could use Bluetooth to connect to or some other data connection from the floorplate-mounted pressure switch to the device itself, then ping the helmet when the RFID is established. That way your module could be mounted on a wide variety of weapons, with nothing more than a profile change. That's how I always envisioned making this a reality.
Super excited about this project...I only wish I had the resources to contribute...Like NVG, or thermal goggle stuff.

You and all those who have worked so hard to start make this possible should do a podcast series working through how it came together and what's involved for each element think would be a great addition a more indepth view from each person's perspective and interesting viewing for the community obviously it needs completing fantastic work !!

This really getting along. I think you forgot 1 thing, are people just going to be walking around in suit of armor for recreational purposes? I personally would love that due to all the wacky things that I try. You may have already thought of this but, you could probably use a fitbit watch for health moderations (such as health bar or heart beat tracking) built right into the tacpad. This is amazing stuff, that you are making! Great stuff my man!

interesting that you’re holding the rifle left handed but it’s right handed in the HUD. but still really nice 🤙🤙

For the HUD's IFF you might want to get with the team over at Hacksmith Industries; they worked on the same thing; it was a bit crude but it worked. Also why is the helmet not symmetrical, it looks like the mouth piece needs to be moved about an inch down and about an inch to the right when you were showing off the HUD.

Changing the line weight for the geometry edges Fatter to thinner - near to far would add a ranging component to it and might make the space more comprehensible

I am truly blown away by what you have accomplished so far. I'm pretty sure my heart skipped a beat when you mentioned Transparent Aluminium, it's another example of how Star Trek has changed the world. I was wondering if you had seen of Jairus of All's videos? He is currently working on the SPNKR launcher. It would be so cool to see you guys do a collab of some kind.

Helpful possibly, use comtacs or military headphones that already use that tech for the external audio and microphones. You could possibly refine that

Not sure what aluminum compound you are referring to, but aluminum oxide or synthetic sapphire is an option. Whichever is cheaper in the end.
