I use this once a week (during cleaning) and my water is crystal clear even though I only do a 15% water change every other month. I do change carbon monthly but do believe the coral snow has improved clarity a lot.
Hi ! I started using this method weekly for a a month. Results are quite good. Before starting this method i usually had the same ALK readings between my Apex Trident and the Hanna ALK test. After the coral snow, i have my Trident readings more or less the same, and the Hanna ALK readings much higher. CAL readings are OK. Does this method affect ALK or ALK test readings ? Thanks in advance!
Couple questions for you: 1) On you article you combine 8 oz of RODI water and 1x teaspoon of Cal Carbonate. Then you add it to your aquarium etc. . But then on the site it says to use 5 ml per 50 gallons which isn't very much. How much should we dose as I'm a little confused. Can you clarify. 2) How often do you think it's safe to do this. Would once a week or twice a week work vs just once a month to get my tank clearer and caught up. Thanks in advance.
Mike Paletta doses twice a week, Sanjay Joshi doses when he sees his tank is a bit cloudy. I dose weekly when I clean. I personally see no point adding more than once a week unless you are trying to remove a toxin from your system. I’m not sure how effective coral snow is but my water is crazy clear and I barely do water changes.
Dose doing this coral snow treatment increase Alkalinity ? I did a calcium carbonate treatment and my Alk went from 9.3 to 11.3, is IT normal to do so or I have contaminates in the Calcium Carbonate powder ?
@@Danyol23honestly dude that size tank a weekly 5gal water change is all the filtration you need.. I would have a heater and a flow pump on that size aquarium, that’s it. Oh and a light 😊 3 trochus snails will keep your rocks clean.
Hi! You can add 1 teaspoon per 50gl of system volume with 8oz of water from the system. Stir, let sit for 5 minutes, stir again, and then dose it to the system.
@@calloplesiops6502 Thank you! I have two MP40’s, Tunze Stream 3 and a Vectra L2 return pump. The MP40’s run at 100%. Overall, I have 120X turnover. You can download my flow and lighting templates here: reefsite.com/updated-radion-and-mp40-schedules/
On your site you say that you must mix 10 spoons in 500ml of water and that you must then take 5ml for 50 gallons. On the video you say one spoonful for 50 gallons, which makes a dosage 20 times higher, which is correct?@@ReefSite And if we use the CoralSnow when we prepare it, why use RODI water when we could take water from the aquarium? Bacteria would grow better in a salt water solution than in a RODI solution.
@@calloplesiops6502I can’t answer your first question. I personally use the mix as per the website but dose 60ml to my 180g once a week so much higher dose is fine. But as for your second question.. if you are going to use the mix immediately then definitely go ahead and use tank water. If you are mixing a bunch to store and use for a long time then use RO so it doesn’t foul.
Dosed for the first time today. Looking forward to seeing some beneficial results. Thank you for the tips
Best of luck!
I dosed for the 1st time today and look forward to some promising results! Love your information and great videos!
Wonderful! Thank you for the support.
I found this while trying to look up reef snow but im gonna try it! Thanks

Should I run uv sterilizer when dosing bacteria or just remove the uv completely?
Fantastic product.
Hello! If I heard correct just RO DI FRESH water correct ?

Does the rodi not kill the bacteria?

1 teaspoon = ~5ml

When you use it, the amount of calcium in the aquarium does not increase.thanks
Hello. It has no effect on the calcium in the system.
Is it safe to use in a 15G nano with no protein skimmer?
depends. Do you have a filter sock or way of filtering out the water? It won’t do you any good if you don’t have a means of filtering out the snow.
@@ReefSite I run filter floss that should work yeah?

When the water turns milky white does this bother the fish
It can spook them, but they get used to it. You could drip it in slowly if you wanted. Other than that it seems fine.
Does it take out yellow pigments out of water so no need to use carbo anymore?
Yes. It will remove yellow pigment in water but I would still use carbon for its other benefits.
What sand do you use? Thanks
Helllo. I use Caribsea Seaflor Special Grade amzn.to/45RfU4w

Toujours All For Reef ? Combien de mL ?
Yes, that is what I dose. I dose 120ML daily on about 190gl total system volume.
