My good friend back in the 80’s was very keen on Lancia owning HPE with the 2.0L engine and a volume X supercharge which was very quick. They were smooth and sure footed. I can’t remember any major rust problems though.
Really nice brochure, i do remember these back in the 80s and always thought they were like a more upmarket Opel Manta with the coupe and hatchback. I have never seen a brochure for these so it was nice to see it here. Thanks for sharing.
I never saw a Lancia Coupé or HPE on the road in Australia. I always liked the styling of the HPE though. It was something like a production car version of the "shooting break" cars from earlier times. Like you said, the Reliant Scimitar was another example, and there was also a similar style in one of the versions of the Volvo P1800 in the sixties.
My Uncle had a red coupe like the one on the cover when I was a wee lad which I thought was awesome. Prior to the coupe he had a HPE in silver or beige I think. Unfortunately someone hit the back of it when it was parked causing massive damage which made it a write off. I think he had only had it a couple of years at the time. Anyway luckily they were company cars so no personal loss to him ..😊
Great cars - really like Lancias.
That photo of the HPE on the front cover of the brochure - it looks like the lovechild of a Jaguar XJS and a late Allegro estate.
It’s an unusual design for sure can certainly see the XJS vibes

Interesting cars

Lancia in the US are extremely rare.
I think these might have been badged as the Lancia Zagato.
Different car I do believe. I am no Lancia expert but believe that was the Lancia Beta Spider in Europe
