*Once newly hatched chicks, the mother must lead them to water in about 10+ hours or next day. They only have a little food left their body to survive. So the mother will leave regardless One or Two are in bad conditions or not, as you can clearly see in this case. The ducklings stay in the nest for at least 10 hours, while they dry and get used to using their legs. In this case, the mother left too soon or the chick hatched too late, which the leg is disabled as you can see in the video. Regardless, the mother will save other chicks from starvation, rather than stay and try to save just one.*

Baby Mallard Ducklings are so doggone cute! If you pay close attention, you'll see that the Mama Duck made a trip back up the ramp, & push her beak softly against the sick Ducklings chest, as to tell him to get in the water. The Duckling tried, but was far too sick...It looks like something is Neurologically wrong with the last Duckling, hopefully whomever was taking the video got the Duckling out of the water.

That last duckling must have a disability or illness. In the wild the mother would just abandon it, here it looks like it won't last long.

This makes me sad I just moved and I had to leave my ducks with the people that bought the house and they said they would take care of the ducks......a week before we left to move I found a nest with eggs and I got so happy but I wasn’t able to see the baby ducks before I left and I’m sad

I know I'm a bit late but the house would be best off on land as their little house won't be as at high of a risk for decomposing faster and other problems may arise with that too

silver garcia we normally get a batch of about 12 each year. Mrs Ducky returned last week and we opened up the box this weekend. The cams are always running, you can also see the goats.
