My father was wanting to buy me and him a ZAD900CE as a gift for us to share in 2023. I knew nothing about Zager, so I studied up on them and saw all the bad things people were saying. I tried to get him to buy a Martin, Taylor, Gibson, or a Guild but he insisted on the Zager. The Zager is actually a pretty nice guitar. It feels good to play and sounds great. Also a very pretty guitar. I pair it with a Seagull S6 on my recordings and get some great tones. By the way, Seagulls are a awesome guitar for the price. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from the company's transparency, and if it were my money I probably would have bought something different. But I don't think anyone who buys the Zager should feel cheated by any means.
Yeah man, I'd like for them to just list where it's made. I personally don't care where that is - all that matters is that it plays and sounds good. But it would benefit them to be transparent about that.
I feel like comparing the 3 guitars, acoustically the Martin is the brightest, the Takamine has the most low end and the Zager is the most balanced. Love your acoustic gig videos Jason! That Zager is a work of art!
@@MarkJohnsonJams Mark, thank you for watching the entire video man, I appreciate that. Yeah they’re all great guitars and have served me well! The Zager is quite amazing and it will continue to be my main guitar for my shows. I’m also looking to record with it soon.
Man, I really love this guitar! And it made it just fine through the brutal summer we had (and still have, even though it's Oct!) I can't wait to record in the studio with this (coming soon!)
Hey Jason. I 100% appreciate this video. I do solo acoustic gigs here in Tampa as well a d it's great to see someone explain these issues that we deal with. :)
I don't know the model number but I'm 99% sure that Martin designed an acoustic for the electric guitar player. That might be exactly what you're looking for. I thought it sounded and played great, but it was a little out of budget for me, and I am a Taylor man. Thanks for another acoustic rig update. It's why I'm subscribed.
Thank you for subscribing (I’ve thought of doing a separate channel for live acoustic as this channel is known for metal!) Yeah my Martin plays really nice. The Zager has been great for my solos too
I like that. I play 60 percent of the time my Taylor or Guild acoustic doing like Simon and Garfunkel and Bob Dylan and all that great hippie 60. And 70s acoustic. Then 40 percent of time on my Jackson and esp and start and bc rich doing AC/DC, priest Metallica and maiden and Slayer and van hallen and more. I can't be one sided on guitar and be happy I think my acoustic playing helps my metal guitar playing and it takes several styles to fulfill my souls needs. I use no pick on acoustic only finger picking and hand strumming. With all that being said I believe it keeps you sharp and helps your skills and interests sharp.
@@thomasterry1685 Dude, you made several excellent points so thank you for the comment. Metal will always be my first musical love but as you mentioned, having these multiple styles (especially acoustic) indeed feeds the soul
Need help!!! Anyone!?? Had gigs where I was getting standing ovations but venue owners never have me back!!! What's that all about!??; I don't get it man, these politics in the gig scene are really wearing on me . Then the venues never advertise me on their page like they do all the other artists!! That burns me up!! I don't understand man
Zager buys Chinese guitars and puts their name on them...for years it was guitars made in the same Chinese factory that produced the "Sigma" Martin line of guitars...Zager has been running this scam for 30 years ... lmao
First question is have you even played a Zager guitar? Secondly, where's your source of information coming from, and how did you validate that source? Not arguing...just curious. So please feel free to include that if you see this. Aside from that, having a 'Made is the USA' stamp does not automatically mean 'good quality.' I talked about this towards the end, which I'm sure you didn't get that far. And if this was truly made in China as you claim, this Chinese guitar plays and sounds pretty damn good! (again, points on this were made towards the end)
Zager wants people “rookies” in particular to think they are getting some amazing guitar. It’s an import that shouldn’t be anywhere close to $2,400 IMO
@ Hmmm…I don’t think Sammy Hagar is a ‘rookie.’ And several other notable artists play Zager guitars. There are other brands that have guitars in the same price range that aren’t made in the good ole USA. But none of that should really matter. What matters is does it play and sound good to you, regardless what f brand or price.
@@stephenedgecock yes, but google isn’t always correct (as with many things). Consider the source. But I’m not gonna try to convince anyone. The video here is just my personal experience with the guitar. And unlike many, I’m not biased to the big brands.

I have this guitar and the natural. I love them. I also have a 1986 Guild G37, one of the last 53 made.

could that balance issue be partially from the strap you use
I love watching your videos. You are awesome! It's so cool how you play the 80s songs on acoustic.
Thank you, I appreciate that
As always Jason, great video. I am very impressed with all your work

Awesome to hear you’re playing local! Yeah you know how humid it gets here!!
How you get gig?? Venue owners won't even give me reply back when I ask them if they are looking for new solo acts, makes no sense

When practice mostly metal. How is it to play a acoustic? Any overlap or completely different?
Acoustic is a different approach but I love playing acoustic just as much as metal
Hi how are you rock on dude you are a great guitarist.
