I have seen turbo compressor shrapnell rip through intake pipes on many occasions in the diesel community. Due to the proximity I would weld a small protective plate along the top of the dash to separate my face from that intake pipe.
The turbos are set off to the sides right behind the front wheel It would really have to be a catastrophic explosion for it to affect him in the cab Another dangerous problem is the drive shaft snapping and shooting through the floor has killed a lot of people
Magna Carta Sam Adam's check out PFI video on the bully and what they did to something to to protect them from the drive shaft snapping on them. They should do the same here. It’s more weight might sacrifice a second or 2 but in the end their safety is top priority. At this point they can hardly even control the car at 60PSI and to go 70 and break that shaft would be deadly

My favorite 405 car, Shaun is a good guy that doesn't run his mouth, no excuse type of guy, Dominator is a great guy as well, but that damn Nova has evolved into a BMFER ! Peeling off those kind of numbers I would love to see a match up with his Pontiac buddy.
Others are doing 4.0s and 3.90s with drag radials at the same weight. The Nova makes a lot of horsepower but David Pearson's Lil Evil Mustang ran a 4.11 on 275s with a small block Ford and a single Procharger a few years back. It was at full race weight too. Sean's car is capable of double the power as David's but putting it all down is another story. David still has the shock towers in it so he can run other classes.

Ricky Mckenzie he knows he can’t compete in the pro mod series. He goes for testing really. And 4.02 is fast enough to compete in no prep kings. Seeing that the car still has plenty left in the tank as far as power goes.
I'd like to see the Murder Nova put a whoopin on Cheif just cuz Crow vs Murder Nova from what I've seen Cheif has won the majority of the races when they've lined up next to one another

Because that's the distance that all the grudge money and no prep races are ran. Majority of cars are setup for 1/8th mile racing as the access to 1/4 mile tracks is limited since most are all NHRA and big corporation owned. Those tracks generally don't do the Thursday test and tune/grudge racing and weekly bracket racing. It costs them too much money to run those big tracks like that. Zmax in Charlotte only runs a few times a year for non NHRA/professional racing. Shadyside an hour down the road opens Thursday night $10 a head run all you want for 4 hours or just watch. He makes a killing every week and some big money grudge bets are always going to be there.

Man Shawn has got something now that car is a tick faster then fireball if he gets the chassis lined out it will be running mid to high 3.9s and that's were he needs to be.
Fireballs been 3.84 a while back. Maybe even faster but I know the 3.84. Shawns got a bit to go still. Keep that front end down a little and its in the 3.9s
I don't build race cars don't know how to but couldn't you make your front end suspension travel a little bit more and make your wheels touch the ground when you're in your willy so you can drive the car a little bit

The problem is we can say that about many cars that have the potential to go faster. This wasn't his first time at one of these events either. Not saying it's not fast. This outing just wasn't impressive that's all. The car was built for no prep and the street. R vs W car etc and no prep car are little different. Even when Miller and Pharris teamed up. Miller built a new car for no prep and got the motor from Pharris. It's not the R vs W car.
Well you have people running on prepped tracks running under 4 not saying anything about radial racing your fastest guys are running 3.6s on the on the low side to 3.5s months high side

As much as I like Murder Nova and hope it does well. I don't think that car will ever be "good". It's so inconstant and all over the place. I'm sure it will nail down some sick numbers though.

Loads of pro mods do the 1/4, the nova is fine to do the 1/4 just sort out the tracking so it actually goes straight then it’s fine.
