Honestly 2 “looks” the best, but I’m with you....I don’t want to dirty up a bunch of dishes and take the time to make a marinade when a steak doesn’t need it. Too much work, I like to season my steak, let it set out, and grill when ready.
Mixed results for sure. Did the steaks come from the same cow. That could affect the flavor. Not sure if a tie is what he wanted. The fact that he posted the video gets big respect from me. That's called integrity. Win or lose. Thanks
Used to marinade steaks all the time when I was younger. However, as I got older and better situated in life and buy better grades of steaks, I no longer use marinades. Now I like my steaks with a simple SPG as I like to taste the meat.
Last year I marinaded some ribeyes for the first time in Brisket Mop and then rubbed with cow cover, hands down the best steaks we have ever had. Have fixed them that way ever since. Love Kosmo's Products!
Fully expected one of the Kosmo rub/marinade steaks would win. Glad y’all didn’t edit the results. I still love the Texas Beef and Cow Cover hot combo!
Thats EXACTLY RIGHT!!!But there is a resteraunt in Panama City Florida called ANGELO'S STEAKHOUSE...famous place...best steaks on earth...im 41 and have eaten there every trip to PCB..probably over 50 times in my life...they sell there dry rub and it is the BEST RUB IVE EVER USED!!!you can go online to their website and get it...it is ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT.....a guy that worked there told me how they do their steaks and ive done it since then and that was in 1998....its easy here it is....Squezze fresh lemon on both sides of the steak...then LIGHTLY rub both sides in EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL...then shake your rub on both sides and grill IMMEDIATELY...they also mix wood with their charcoal...they use oak and hickory
I use this marinade all the time, funny enough when I didn't have lemon juice I substituted Kosmo's Texas Beef into the marinade and have been using it in this marinade ever since. Can't go wrong!
I recently tried your Mop on a ribeye with Cowcover, DBH, and Texas beef, sprinkled with your brisket mix when it rested and it was the Best steak I ever had!
Small ideas you can slam together : Greek Marinade (24hrs) Add in lemon juice for a real zip, Or you can go with Liquid Smoke Many stores sell it near the BBQ section if not ask them, Brown sugar, Honey, Maple syrup, Molasses, Apple juice - Sweetness add ins / Garlic, crush Or powdered chili peppers, cracked black peppers, horse radish- little kicks I also love chimichurri sauce Let that marinade over night Cook the meat And slap on another layer of sauce...Amazing
Hey Kosmo, long time fan. I absolutely love all 6 of the rubs that I’ve tried and damn near every recipe. I just really wish you would make longer videos. It’s what the people want.
I'm lazy and there are way too many ingredients to make a homemade marinade like steak #1. Usually do mine with straight soy sauce marinade then season with cow cover/texas beef. Gonna have to try brisket mop one day though!
Kosmo, have you ever tried a salt brine on a tri tip? I was gonna try the salt brine and then marinade it with brisket mop. Then season it with cow cover hot and Texas beef.
The only steak I marinate is flank or skirt, usually because I am going to stir fry or make fajitas. Other than that, my steaks just get SPG or SPG and Cow Cover Hot and that's it. Reverse sear baby! Love your products and vids. Keep 'em coming!
I know this video has nothing to do with ribs but how would you recommend cooking my ribs should I put the brown sugar and honey on it and wrap it then cook it meat side down or up I normally do meat side down but looking to better it thanks
Kosmo's I use your brisket mop on my steaks but I thought you were only suppose to marinate the steak for 30 minutes, per a video I saw where you had the recipe when you won the SCA a few years ago. Should I marinate longer, love your products!!
I’ve been stuck on the combination of Cow Cover and Texas Beef here lately, but all three of those looked good. Even though I do like mine more rare than that!
Bro, your Honey Chipotle Killer Bee rub is INSANE. I love it. Getting ready to order more from you. What got you into this? My wife just asked me cuz I was bragging about your product and I was like, I don’t know! Lemmee ask him!
If you start with good meat, your steak shouldn't need anything but salt and pepper and a bit of garlic. I just simplify and use garlic salt and black pepper but then, I buy good meat. I realize that in competitions you have to go to all these extra lengths to win or even place. But I'm not a competitive cook. And I rarely, if ever, buy steak from the grocery store anymore. As far as which one looked the best, the marinated ones always look better. That crispy marinade that burns on the surface always looks tasty and makes me want to slice off a chunk to eat right there and I usually do. And I don't mean to denigrate anybody who marinates or mops their steaks, we're all different man, how you cook your steak is your choice. Rubs, marinades, mops, they all have a place and you make some damn good ones! Bring on the brisket or ribs or chicken and I'm down, just not on my damn steak.
Taste is so subjective! It’s almost impossible to get a consensus. With my competition BBQ team, it’s never 100% agreed when we adjust our flavor profile! I would just have to taste the steaks my self. Love your stuff and enjoy your videos!
texas beef looked the best to me... bet as far as tenderness goes i think the other two would take the cake or i guess you could say take the steak... i wouldnt turn any of em down
I just went on a trip from Texas to Florida recently and let me tell you , y’all’s seafood is the best in America just about. We’ve got Mahi Mahi , grouper, and snapper but man no seafood here compares to what y’all have.
I think I would prefer the simplicity of the mop out of the bottle. But I will give you props for posting a video that shows people not unanimously endorsing your product. I know your stuff is great because I buy it now! But to see the transparency of this video makes me have more respect for you! So kudos to you my friend!

I’m not sure but by placing the steaks on different areas of the grill would this make the steak cook and taste a little different and if their from different Packaging unless like me buy slabs whole of the strip lion and cut to thickness and like I prefer so if the steak pieces you’d think in thickness is different to were marinade soaks into it you would think would had made quite a difference in taste I’ve going to a 5star beef house mine could be bland but my hubbies amazing because sometimes I’m seriously cursed we’re it’s always my steak even a Fillet mignon is though and bland but again hubbies amazing and the chef couldn’t figure out why because from same slab that’s why I won’t any longer go out and spend a fortune on eating out when I can master it to perfection at home cheaper and tastes 5star minus I’m stuck doing the clean up haaa

Steak marinades need to include a little bit of whiskey. For the steak and the cook.
Why would anyone marinate a steak?
