    I worked for 15 years in Canada and expect about $500/mo from CPP, then moved to the US in 1997 and have worked here and contributed to SS for 27 years. My SS at FRA is about $3300. Will any of the 500 be clawed back? Thanks

    I will be 67 in November. Currently laid off and receiving unemployment benefits... but going back to my seasonal position in January (allegedly lol). I want to retire. Should I apply now or wait til February after I go back to work... does it matter? Thanks for help and all your many years of service! ❤🎉

    I'm 66, my ex is almost 60. I didn't know and couldn't get consistent answers from SSA regarding if I have to wait until he is 62 to draw. I just found out that I could have been drawing on my own SS until he hits 62. I have a phone appointment on Tuesday to begin signing up. Will it be possible to get my own back payments from when I turned 62?

    😢I retired early @62. I worked six years as a school bus driver. I don't think ever got an penny more in benefits. If working on SS is there no increase to.benefits? I broke my back driving a school bus. Did not get disability! Disability stops at 65 so older workers will not get extra help! I am not sure full age to retire was 66???TY

    I am subscribed to your UA-cam channel, but I always seem to miss the live videos although I always watch them later. Thanks for what you are doing.
    I have a question. I’m 65 1/2 years old but trying to wait till my full retirement age of 67 to collect my social security. I am divorced. My ex already collects SS. I was married for 30 years. I have a question.
    If I choose to take my own Social Security benefit, since it won’t be any higher amount to take spousal benefit, can I still get survivor benefit if my ex-husband were to pass away in few years, Because then, it would be higher amount.
    Or is it once I pick my own benefit Im locked in?

    • @rclose23
      @rclose23 6 днів тому +1

      I think you can take the spousal right now and let yours grow until your 70. Ask around.

    • @dawnford1146

      I thought I understood Ed to say that you had to start your own Social Security before you can collect spousal Social Security. Plus my ex-husband does not receive more than half of mine so at my full retirement age I have to collect my own correct? So my question is at full retirement age if I’m collecting mine and my ex-husband dies can I then go to survivor benefit collecting on his?

    • @kathleenphillips7145

      Most definitely. I started reading SSA benefits at full retirement and continued working until just recently when I retired at age 70. The thing is to make sure to deduct SSA Fed and state taxes. I began receiving my pension this month minus tax deductions as well.
