- After a 3 year break from the casinos, I'm back with our 50th real craps game inside the Montego Bay Casino in Wendover, Nevada! Thanks to the pandemic and a new business venture, I wasn't able to get to the casinos to play craps, roulette, or slots until now. And it sure was fun!
This craps game was an average one, with some slightly longer than average rolls by the players. Some people were pressing, and some were grinding. Initially, I just watched the game for a few minutes. But, the dice were calling, so I stepped up to play.
The table had a $10 min, with a $500 max, and 10X odds. After buying in with $100, I decided to get a little aggressive on my first trip back, and kept pressing my Pass Line bets by $5 each time the point was won. I also took more aggressive odds than I normally do, but it depended on the point. 6 & 8 saw heavier odds for my Pass Line than 4 & 10. I also tried to press my Place bets when I felt it was right. (I'm not a power-presser....yet.) I'd occasionally make a Field bet, which turned out nice a few times! Eventually, I started getting paid in green ($25) chips, and that $100 grew to over $250!
Now that I was playing, the girl with the dice had a nice run, and it helped regain my confidence and betting after being away from the casinos for so long.
When I got the dice, I also had a fairly decent roll, despite being at the end of the table and tossing the dice off the table once.
But, it was the 4th player's long roll in the 20's that really helped build my stack on the chip rail!
About half way through the 4th player's long roll, I realized I had $100-$150 in green chips and over $150 in red ($5) chips. With plenty of money on the chip rail to keep me going, I pocketed 4 of the green chips. NOW, I was playing with 100% the casino's money! If I lost all the money on the chip rail, I could walk away not having lost anything, but still having a good time.
After a little bit more play, I pocketed another $100 in green chips, leaving over $150 in mixed chips still on the rail! Now, I was going to be able to walk away with a profit if I lost what was left on the rail! I pressed when I felt I should, and kept increasing the Pass Line and odds with each point won.
But, the last player in the video really turned me off from playing any further, thanks to his impatience with the dice. As soon as the stick man passed him the dice he grabbed them and tossed them before the stick man could really clear out. Obviously, the guy's impatience worked against him, as he only got 3 rolls off.
After that guy's short roll, I decided to color-up. $151 was what I had left on the rail. So, I turned that $100 into $351! For me, that's not too bad.
In all, it was a fun game and felt GREAT to be back playing craps again!

No dice setting, are all Wendover casinos like this?
Yes. Small town casinos need more rolls per hour in order to keep the lights on. There’s too many poser dice setters out there that take WAAAY too much time setting their dice and holding up the game. These small town casinos don’t like time wasters.
The shooters in wendover are the worst I’ve ever seen like that last shooter lol! Going to play the darkside next time I’m there

What does the Dont Pass/DC thing say "Stand Off Aces"? Does that mean they weren't paying out on the DP/DC for aces thrown? LIke a bar 12 but bar 2? Weird never seen that on a table ever.

It means they Bar the 2 instead of what most places do in bar the 12.
Just curious why you pocket chips?
To avoid the temptation to spend it all at the table. Plus, if you've got chips in your pocket you are less likely to remember and more likely to walk away with something. And something is better than nothing.

What are the numbers on the very top of the prop bets?
Sucker bets. Anything in front of the stick man is a sucker bet. It’s why I almost NEVER make them unless betting for the house.
@@InsidetheCasino I actually worked at the dice tables at the Golden Gate in LV many years ago. Don’t recall ever seeing that particular layout with those I assume numbers on top. They are sucker bets. One of them is also the 6/8 in the corner of pass line.
I believe they are “Hop” bets , where you are betting on the exact combination of dice on the next (only 1) roll.
Pays what seems to be a lot, but there is a very large “house edge” on these bets so many (rightly) consider them “Sucker Bets” … there are some complex strategies where maybe it’s not totally stupid to use the, as part of a hedge on other stuff.
But not my cup of tea, either! 🎲 🎲

Neither do I, but it’s a small town casino, and they rely on getting more rolls/bets per hour. 95% of dice setters are posers that take too long to set and then toss the dice like the average chicken feeder. So, in order to stay as profitable as possible for this mostly weekend casino, they have to keep the game moving.
No dice setting in wendover? What a joke for craps. Would rather pay for the flight to vegas
Most small town casinos don't allow dice setting, because it's all about getting more hands per hour. Because small town casinos don't make that much money, they need to have the game moving as fast as possible. Too many poser dice setters don't know how to set dice correctly, and waste TONS of time. So, I get why they don't allow it. Sucks, but oh well. 97% of people can't dice set and have good outcomes anyway.
Wendover's craps scene is terrible.
Yeah. It’s not the best. But when it’s all you have for hundreds of miles, you make due.
I recommend DON'T PLAY IN WENDOVER. This is the only place in the US Where you cannot only not set the Dice, but also cannot use any hedging techniques. In other words anything you can use to help your game, they don't allow. They set you up to lose. STAY AWAY!
Actually, "no dice setting" and no hedging bets is in numerous casinos in the US, not just Wendover. It has to do with small town casinos needing as many rolls per hour in order to help keep the casino profitable.
There is no dice setting in other casinos like the Tropicana Laughlin, but can you tell me where there is no hedging in addition to the no dice setting?
