The single coil mode with the push-pull pot is incredible, lots of tonal options with this beauty. You are playing great as ever and just nailed that Bowie song.
Mary's Club, a Portland Institution. Been there a few times, but I live in the Rose City. Love all your lessons. I've a learned a ton from you over the last three years. Thanks much.
how the heck do you manage to make your guitars sound like on the original record ? in every single Video, that's quite impressive .Keep up the great work, mate
SallyCanWait1996 I don't, really. But if you play something pretty close to the way the original player did it, I think it gives the impression that the tones are pretty similar, even if they're not.
Cool! I have the same exact model and they are great guitars! I saw a video of Joe Walsh playing one like this on you tube a yr or 2 ago but cant find it anymore. He was using it for their song "takitezy".
Hey James, Always admired your teaching technique and the lessons you put out, I believe you used to have a youtube channel under another user tag other than "James James" if not I stand corrected, But the similarities are very familiar, and that Bob Dylan picture hanging on the wall is a dead give away. I were trying to find your old channel, but could not recall its name, but had an old video you did which allowed me to make the connection, anyhow, thanks for all the great guitar tutorials, Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work, its appreciated. Cheers..
Hey man, I miss you a lot. Hope like heck that you and your family are okay. Not sure what compelled “The End” and it’s none of my business. Just want you to know how much I learned from you over the years. Because your musical/band tastes align so closely with mine, you were my favorite UA-cam guitar dude. You are missed.
How would you say the fmt compairs to a regular tele? I've been playing a tele since i started guitar and it getting old so im going to have get new axe. And to be honest trying to settle on a guitar to shoot for is a lot harder than I thought it would be. Part of me wants to get a les paul, or an epiphone sheriton. But the other part that's grown up on a tele doesn't want to stray to far from home. So what I'm trying ask you is, is staying in my comfort zone a good idea. Or in the intrest of growing as a player should I try and break out. P.s A long time ago I learned the real me by the who off one of your videos, and had a really fun time jumping around and windmill strumming like mad man. Thank you and sorry for being long winded
+Icelandrobot If you want traditional Tele tones, you really won't get them out of the FMT. It sounds more like a Les Paul. It does have a coil splitter for the bridge pickup, so there's a little bit of versatility to it. But if you want that Tele quack, this isn't really the guitar for that.
Awesome video! Hey, can you do 1 for "last child" by Aerosmith? Or maybe some of the fills on "Walk this way"? You're PT channel has a "WTW" video but no fills and Im having trouble figuring it out. Thanks for all the awesome videos!

James James - you are a legend
I miss his presence.
What a stellar lesson. This song takes me back! Love your tone. You are the ultimate You tube guitar teacher. I love your lessons. Thank you!

Rock and roll simplicity that pierces your heart like an arrow. Awesome

You’re responding to a seven year old comment.
I wonder if they’ll reply to you?
I hope so.
Good lesson. Not as difficult as I thought. Thanx. Nice Tele.

Interesting tele, never seen this before
nice guitar!!!!!!!
James I have the exact guitar bought it in 2004
That simple riff is harder than it looks LOL what a great guitar riff man
You are so right! The sheer repetitiveness of it gets me after a few bars.
Beautiful red you have there.
i have the same tele. got it in 2004
While I prefer a more traditional Telecaster myself, which is what I'm following along with, those FMTs are beautiful guitars, to be sure.
Great lesson and beautiful guitar. Is the body thinner than a standard Tele? Looks nice and light.

She is pretty. Did you have the neck set up up or did you do it yourself?
My friend has one of these, they are indeed very nice to play. Personally I don't really like the sound of Seymours, but to each their own, right?
Ah shoot. I struggle through, but it gets a little better.

Nice guitar ANOTHER 1 LOL Either your not married or your wife is really nice.
Married 21 years to the greatest lady I'll ever know.
I think your right.
Reminds me of the old question: "How many guitars are enough?" Answer: "One more!" It looks like your lady appreciates how much your music means to you.
Man I wish I had your ear....
you miss out the coolest detail of the riff bro: the muted low E note listen again..! apart from that, really good
One man’s coolest-detail is another man’s I-don’t-really-care-that-much.
@@jamesjames9275 right ok..
it's a great demo - I always found it one of those "easy yet hard" ones
