plagueis was a tru pusher of boundaries. palpatine is but a watered-down version of wut could had been, fitting vader’s fate ended the way it did. (woulda been cool to see Disney do something unpredictable).
I wish Plageuis came back as the true Master of the Sith for the sequel trilogy as he was a far more interesting and powerful character. Plus, reviving dead beings and mastering physical death was his thing. It is easy to see how his midichlorians could have spent many years bringing him back to life. Would have fit the character perfectly
I always believed that Sidious was afraid of Plagueis returning knowing how powerful he truly was. Sidious knew that so much knowledge was lost with his death and that he truly was weeker as a result.

I would say it slightly differently: the practical application of knowledge is power, which is wisdom.
Thanks for covering Plageuis, the Sith who was actually becoming immortal before Palps blew it and kill him never learning the secret.
If they truly wanted to do a sequel trilogy, Plageuis would have been perfect. He was nearly immortal as it was when he died. He knew how to heal himself, not need sleep, kept increasing his midichlorian count, etc
He could have spent the years slowly healing and regenerating from death back to life after all he learned, came back as he had conquered physical death, as was his goal in the novel, and then he could have faced a force ghost Anakin for episode 9.
Jedi embodiment of the living force and the immortal corporeal Sith with Anakin finally vanquishing the immortal Sith Darth Plageuis.
Instead, we got Zombie Palpatine, who sucked to begin with as we couldn't even replicate Plageuis's abilities. Would jave been better as Plageuis's abilities exceeded sidious's to begin with.
I don't want Disney anywhere near a Plageuis movie, though. As it is as they have played up Sidious so hard-core to the point of even retconning anakin's birth to be his doing and not Plageuis, the actual story. They would never portray him as the Master he was per the novel.

Plagueis was powerful enough to scare sidious so he had to kill him in his sleep, so I think that makes him pretty damn powerful bubba 🤪
Powerful enough to piss the Force off! Powerful enough to create the Chosen One! Powerful enough to make a man kill the woman he loves! Powerful enough to create a Sith Lord who turned away from the Dark Side!

To answer your question he was really power to say the least until Plagueis killed him
Sidious told the truth. Plagueis could save others from death with Force by resurrection. Could use it to create life. And by manipulation of the midichlorians. Yet did Sidious ever learn to do this... No. So in the end plagueis got the last laugh.
Plagueis could not cheat death himself, he could only resurrect others. It’s a very useful technique but it’s not the key to immortality. The true key to that was essence transfers

Yes he would beat qui gon and obi wan at the same time. As far as force combat and saber skills go, he’s probably on par with windu and dooku. When Sidious kills Plagueis, Sidious stated his frustration that Plaguies would have Sidious serving underneath him despite being “equal in power and strength.” So Plagueis, (power wise, but obviously had more knowledge) was on par with Sidious during phantom menace. ROTS Sidious is stronger then phantom menace Sidious. Sidious stalemated yoda, which means plagues and Sidious were just under Yoda during phantom menace, likely somewhere among par with dooku, windu and legends plo koon, as I already mentioned.
@@sdaftermath123 thanks. I had no frame of reference for him as a fighter since I’ve only seen the movies, the cartoon, and some video games. I always pictured him as a weaker version of sidious. He seems like a mad scientist/ force user rather than a duelist. So when sidious kills plagueis in his sleep he only became like 10% stronger? Dooku and windu aren’t all that much weaker than palpatine in ROTS. I was under the assumption that palpatine power doubles when his master died.
@@anthonymacaluso2671 by ROTS Sidious was the most powerful Sith Lord of all time, and definitely by return of the Jedi. It really is hard to gage how strong they were in phantom menace, but all we know is that rots Sidious is stronger then phantom menace Sidious, and ROTS Sidious stalemated yoda, which means phantom menace sidious would likely lose, and if him and Plagueis were equals among combat and power, he would lose as well. There’s even evidence to suggest dooku has a good chance at beating Plaguies. Though Plagueis was by far arguably one of the most knowledgeable force users of all time, I do believe he had more knowledge then Yoda, or was at least equal to Yoda in the knowledge category
