Dude. This car is sick. So awesome that he spent time with you to show it. I love the story about this car and how Derrick got it. There's nothing better than a guy who's really passionate about a vehicle getting a chance to be it's custodian. Awesome.
I'm a Holden (aussie GM) guy but damn that stang is fire. Hands down the best looking mustang I've ever seen. Front end looks very similar to the oldschool Monza fronts like on the Mad Max falcon
100% mam. It has the same vibe as the Buick Grand National and the old school Pontiac Transam. I've always had a soft spot for the 3rd Gen Iroc-Z (If anyone remembers the song by Wheatis - Teenage dirt bag). This exact look is what inspired me to settle with the car I have now FC3S Mazda RX7 (running a custom kit -deleted popup headlights to run a front end similar to this Mustang) mine is also wide body. It's what you gotta do in Australia, when you can't have the real deal.
@14:46 sorry boys I tried. Cars super clean, can’t say I knew these were a thing. Awesome to learn about rare/out there factory cars. Glad to see someone keeping this one on the road and hopefully enjoys it and drives it.
Temu product placement has been forgiven after doing a build breakdown on this fine piece of motoring history with operating donkey pumps and Longbeach port as the backdrop. Bravo 👏👏👏
I remember seeing information about these cars back in the day. Awesome that you have restored your Mclaren! Our stable has had ‘79 hatch, ‘84 SVO, ‘89 5.0 hatch and the ‘96 Cobra had a full coilover Griggs Racing suspension, T56 and a lot more. Fun cars 🎉
I had an 83' worked on upgrading for 10yrs and got rid of it and still no idea why i was so stupid!! Was the absolute most dependable ride i ever had never ever left me anywhere except 1 time on the side of 75 on a trip and was like 3am when i looked at the fuel gauge n was on bone E!! I was just enjoying the night ride!! Gorgeous McLaren
First time I've seen or heard about these being as McLaren are my favourite F1 team can't believe I've only just seen one but being in England I'm not surprised.
I usually like the notchbacks more than the hatchbacks but this one is a beauty 🤩 I had a notchback with a chromoly k-member, a-arms, and coilovers. Handled like a dream. No matter how sideways you got it it didn't want to loop out. Having a driver's license was fun.
One of my very best friend growing up had a convertible McLaren fox body,it was sweet! Surprised a lot of people 😅,good times in that car ,i love them!
I was born in 83 and have always had a love affair with foxbodies and have owned 4 throughout the years. My current pony is a 90gt Saleen clone. They are simply just absolute bliss to drive and there is no other sound like that coming from a pushrod Ford V8.
Mr zachary solely keeping the ENTIRE hoonigan brand alive and thriving.. if he were to get the boys back together and start a weekly hoon build or rip or even just some fuckery i guarantee it would kick off like any of the hoonigan series videos did and he would keep hoonigan in high gear with all the credit going back to the crew and them getting paid like they should be..
Built by hand by Ron Fournier. You can see it under construction in the HP Books, Metal Fabricator' Handbook and HP Books Sheet Metal Handbook. They were must have Books for car guys in the 80's. I still have my copies. That custom body work is all Steel. The DSO kit was fiberglass molded from the steel body Ron built.
The 1985 and 86 are my favorite Fox body cars. I would be scared as hell to own this car because I would want to drive it, but the roads and other drivers would prevent me from doing so until the hours of midnight to 3 am
Lot of parts from the mercury capri which had wider fender flares from the factory. The skirt kit on the car is the same as I bought for my capri with the only difference being the ferrari cut-outs on the side, (fitting for the time). Same wheels that you could get factory for the capri. Same rear wing. Headlight covers were available. I had the tinted ones. Ford did the same thing with the indy 500 pace car which again was a mercury capri with mustang body. The capri had a little better tuned suspension. The capri costs more and you had to go to a Lincoln mercury dealer to get one. The great Jackie Stewart promoted it. The extra cost and ammenities meant they sold very few. A cool parts bin car though that ford (allowed) to be put together. And a rare find.
Killer video Zac! Such a rare and badass ride…and thanks for the shoutout!!
Idc what anyone says, this has to be one of the best foxbody mustangs ever!!❤️
THE best one. the second place is the califonria highway patrol edition high output cruiser. both would make me very happy.
I agree 💯💯%
Nice and clean
I love those Recaro seats!
Love this video bud. Old school build biology vibes. Edits always on point. Keep rocking dude. 🤘

I Agree! I also reckon Brockie would have loved this build mate!

Wow that car is amazing! Made me love the 4 headlight fox body. THE SOUND ON THAT THING 🤤
I have no Fox Body Love, but this Mustang Mc Laren version here is just too beautiful 😍 EVERYTHING about it is perfect on point 😊
Never sa this before. That kit is so perfect. This is now my favorite foxes
So much love for this bad ass ride!!!
@14:46 sorry boys I tried.

DAMN! You cant beat the look of a ole Foxbody! including this little jem!!
I would love to see more vehicles like this. I've always loved the foxbody but I never knew this car existed. Beautiful car for sure!
Thanks for keeping the hoonigan vibes alive.....love this so much

Best Mustang ever😁✅ I have never heard of it or seen one of these before
Always loved this version, and had model when I was a kid!
It’s hard to find a real review on this car ❤ thanks for making it happen from a real car man perspective
Cool story and car, tasteful restoration and good choices when it comes to upgrades. The body look is so nostalgic
I love it. My dad raced an IMSA GTO mustang in the early 80s. Roush V8 of course 💪🏻
never knew this car existed, this thing is extremely clean af
Truly one of a kind vehicle 🔥
Love it! I really like that you tucked the roller shots in between the segments.
Dude zach... 👏 just keep making videos like this my man! What a wicked 🚗
My new favorite fox body. This thing is sweet!!
Ron is sitting on a bad ass bump to rail skate spot 🎉
wow dude what a car! my bro had the 86 foxbody mustang GT with t-tops it had black spoked rims as well....wow what a car.
How rich the history behind that car is! 30 minutes to record and got a very informative 16 minute video?? Good work god bless! New sub
We agree a lot when it comes to cars. However, I have never been into this generation of Mustang. Until you showed me this one, Damn its hot... 🔥
I wish this channel was more popular he's always doin something cool
First time I've seen or heard about these being as McLaren are my favourite F1 team can't believe I've only just seen one but being in England I'm not surprised.
Thank you for the content! I love how you cover all the bases when it comes to the car culture!! Your the man Zack
This episode reminds me of the golden era Of Daily Trans. Cool car, great story, 15 minutes long. Only missing the burnout to end it. Big props!
good old nostalgia trip. nice edit. love that 80s corvette in it. the shape is just... different.
Chefs kiss! This is beautiful, they need to bring back a new fox body that look like this.
I usually like the notchbacks more than the hatchbacks but this one is a beauty 🤩

Really enjoy this kind of video Zach definitely need to do some more of the!! Another great video 🔥🔥🔥
Great episode. beautiful car, love the location.
Pure uncut DOPE……great video zac!!
Not a big fox body or mustang guy, but those wheels and Recaro’s are just too good 👌
Been following Derek on IG for awhile , great cars in his garage . Cool dude with great taste
The first car i remember really liking as a kid was a 93 cobra. This one is awesome.
One of my very best friend growing up had a convertible McLaren fox body,it was sweet! Surprised a lot of people 😅,good times in that car ,i love them!
Burnyard vibes 💯 need this to become a regular series!
Gorgeous those wheels so sick. Widebody too damn
That is beyond beautiful... that body, woo!!!...😊❤😊
What a beautiful piece of machinery
Looks like a Renault Alpine Gta at the front , i love it 🎉
Wazzz up , love seeing rare models of cars so dope
I'm a bit fan of weird and unusually rare cars. The SVO is another one I really like the vibes of.
I think McLaren collab projects are so much better than their production vehicles. This thing is the shit.
Miss this type of content!
I'm a fan of the 87-93 foxes but I have to say that this McLaren version of the 4 eye foxes looks sick as hell.
That. was ... AWESOME!
Sick vid nice work beautiful fox body
One of the best episodes
Absolutely love those wheels and stance
Shout out to using the port for a backround. As a longshoreman i love it.
Four light fox bodies are SICK!
As a fellow nineties kid I also always wanted a fox body.
I was born in 83 and have always had a love affair with foxbodies and have owned 4 throughout the years. My current pony is a 90gt Saleen clone. They are simply just absolute bliss to drive and there is no other sound like that coming from a pushrod Ford V8.
Hands down sickest fox body I’ve ever seen
Super clean OG Mustang with all the Bells and Whistles. Dont let a hood down holding the corner😢
CLEAN AF! Didn't even know that these were built
Thanks for filming this in my hometown
That is one cool car. Love it, and that's saying a lot for a fox body.
Nice video/show Zach pretty Dope Bro! & Loveee The Mustang!!

This was dope. Only commenting to help zachs algorithm
This was a great episode!!
A composer without a radio.
Amazing car, amazing video!
At first I was like I think I seen something similar in Detroit during the mid 90s then remembered, it was that wild Lebaron masarratti mix lol
Great video. Should do a serie with different gems like this one
Gorgeous and I’m not talkin bout Zac! 😉😂
Build breakdown on Zac's channel is something we need as a regular feature!!!

Seen this at the hot wheels legends tour. such a badass ride.
Very sick enjoyed the video and the knowledge!
Missing the vibe of this style of video. I love it
What a bad ass Mustang! makes me wanna throw my gold BBS back on my car lol
Obviously it was built, because I’m watching it right now.
Seats are 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This car just showed up on two channels on the same day. Must be a very unique car.
Thanks for this feature. I know you’re a bowtie guy, but as a Ford lover, it’s nice to see.
*Love the filming location*

The 1985 and 86 are my favorite Fox body cars. I would be scared as hell to own this car because I would want to drive it, but the roads and other drivers would prevent me from doing so until the hours of midnight to 3 am
Like it Z, keep’em comin
It would be so sick if someone made this same kit again. Maybe modernized in carbonfiber? *insert "carbon fibah!" meme here*
Hugh can of the channel, but I think you driving cool/rare America muscle cars is my favorite content yet.
Fox bodies were always fun, Always liked the Capri bodies. I'm a Chevy guy though. I had an IrocZ. 🇮🇹😀
Life goals! 🔥

This is pretty rad! Looks like a Mitsubishi Starion
