Thank you kindly for the mention, Steve! Imagine my surprise when I was scrolling through my subscription feed and thought, “oh that’s funny, Steve is talking about kindle books, I just made a video like that!” And then clicked on your video and just about fell on the floor when I heard my name mentioned 😂 Seriously, very much honored that you took the time to watch a video of mine, I’ve loved your channel for years!
I've heard really good things about the Troy trilogy by David Gemmell. I've been really into historical fiction lately, so that is near the top of my TBR. Also, from what I understand, White Wolf is the start of a trilogy, however it is a series within the larger Drenai series. I know your stance on being able to jump into any book in a series, but I thought I would add the context for you incase it feels like you are missing something (I don't know if the book is like this or not, as I haven't read it myself), The first book in the whole Drenai saga is called Legend, which is the only Gemmell I've read so far, and it was a really great read! I highly recommend Legend. Also, I love the juxtaposition of the tentacle book straight into Michener, the breadth of your reading interests is one of the highlights of your channel for sure!
I've twice subscribed to the Paris Review, in both cases (almost) solely for the interview back catalogue. Their interviews are amazing. And they have interviewed everyone.
Hopalong Cassidy was, among other things, the first network television western series, according to Wikipedia, from 1949 to at least 1952. It was presumably syndicated after that, since I remember seeing it on TV, probably in the late 50s. By then, The Lone Ranger was the thing, but also Sheena Queen of the Jungle, Ramar of the Jungle (I guess jungles were big), Sky King, and Flash Gordon (presumably turned into TV shows from the old Buster Crabbe serials). I should have been reading instead of watching these shows!
A cursory web search resulted in 24 names that begin with X, including Xander and Xavier. Taylor Swift, Taylor Kitsch, and Taylor Lautner are famous celebrity Taylors. I enjoy your interesting rants, but these two were inane. Better luck next time! 😺✌️
@@saintdonoghue It wasn’t intended as an insult; it was intended as an admonishment. While your job is to shred or praise authors for their writing ability, it is not to ridicule their names. Doing so comes across as juvenile and petty, which you don’t generally appear to be. Please consider my comment a warning meant to prevent you from offending authors and viewers who share those names, like my uncle’s stepson Xian. He’s bullied enough for that in school. I’m sorry you felt insulted; I didn’t think you were thin-skinned. You probably don’t remember me, but I do leave lots of positive comments. I’m certain that this is the first time I’ve taken issue with a video. Hope you and Freida are coping with the heat, which should be short-lived. Your friendly neighborhood spiderman. 😺✌️
I like this new place you are filming, much warmer.

Hello Steve. I just started reading Rocky Mountain Cowboy by Sara Richardson. It was a bonus book included following Cowboy On My Mind by R.C. Ryan.
Brooding Pines, sounds like a very sinister retirement home.

Glad to see you recovering from your moping stage, Steve.
Did I mention I can cook very tasty vegan meals?

As I've goddam pointed out before, there's no friendly way to insult somebody.
Yep
