5:58 Could also count back from the how many stops the skin is over above grey to work out how many stops you need to bring the skin back down.. if it's all relative to stops.. the EL Zone scale should tell you yeah? I counted it out.. looks right to me.. I'm still learning the EL ways..
Thanks. Apparently the DSMC3 does not support EL Zone (Per RED), so for now I am using the GyoScope. But this is very useful for my Sony with the Cine 7 monitor, that one should have EL Zone.
I wish I could upvote this comment! I recently purchased the full Production Package for the Komodo-X and was astonished to see it doesn't have EL Zone. Every monitor in my studio uses EL Zone (SmallHD and Atomos). I pray someone at Red can pull some strings.
@@JPBernierDOP Ah yes, I have come to terms with this (kinda). I've learned to set my GIO scopes to the likely skin tones that I'll be shooting on that production. I turned off all the other colors/stops since I'm usually only looking for skin tones. I only have to worry about 2-3 colors. It's much easier. Thank you for sharing this!
This is really helpful. Also, your lighting setup was lovely. You’re clearly a talented DP!
thank you!
Ninja V+ just got the EL Zone upgrade. I tried it tonight and it was amazing. Thanks for this video.
Great to hear!
Thx mate.i wish affordable monitors like feelworld would support EL ZONE too

@@12yfilms GIO is far superior imo if you are shooting RED. The only reason I like EL zone is that I finally have some kind of GIO when shooting ARRI.
