    The biggest mistake I made with drawing and painting was thinking it would look as good as someone elses, if anyone watches this and gives it a try for the first time just remember you are just starting and dont be too hard on yourself.
    This was fantastic to listen to while preparing to cast some stones to paint on, cant wait to watch it when I'm finished as i guarantee it will give me ideas to add to my creativity in painting and drawing 🙏💖

      You're absolutely right. I also compare my drawings to those of my favorite artists and I wonder why my work doesn't look nearly as good. I'm glad you enjoyed listening 💙

      Greetings Betsi 👋🏻. I just found you on UA-cam and wanted to express my gratitude for all your wonderful teaching. You are extremely gifted in explaining and your voice (which can be a definite deal breaker for me), is sooo pleasant and easy to listen to. Thank you for giving your gift so freely. May God bless you with creativity flowing freely and supernaturally more than you ever hope, dreamed or imagined! ✨🙏🏻👏🏻

      Thanks! The truth is that for me, there is a reason for most things I do in my art. Even when I experiment, it's all based on a kind of scientific method and my hope is that by sharing with you all those little reasons you may be able to understand the process better.

      @SezCreate Рік тому

      @@betsi_jae NOT BORING!!! Love it because you explain your thinking on what you are doing. I would love to know more about how you decide on the over all composition of a picture. Do you often have the items placed in your mind ahead of time or do you always just let create itself. Thats what I struggle with...knowing when to switch from one doodle style to the next without it looking too strange. ( might be something to discuss in a future video? I am sure I am not the only one curious about it. )

    These are great tips. They could seems useless at first by some people. But they are vzry usefull because you show how different it could have been. Good for beginner and more.

    • @betsi_jae
      @betsi_jae  Рік тому +2

      I completely agree. Some things seem ridiculously easy to some, but difficult to someone else. Its up to the artist to decide if the simple lines will just be a quick exercise of if they will become more.

    Im so glad I found your page! I'm really enjoying trying out these different shapes. Question: how do you keep/save these smaller pieces in an organized way?

    • @betsi_jae
      @betsi_jae  Рік тому

      Good question. when I don’t draw directly into my journal I make sure to glue my loose drawings into the journal. A neat method might be to make baseball card-sized samples of your patterns and then add them into a card organizer and keep them in a binder. I personally prefer having things in my journal though.

      These pens are 0.5mm. I Believe there's a link to the pens in the description, but I'll check to make sure it's there. I have the same problem with pens that are too tiny. That's why I like to use the 0.5 pens.

      @betsi_jae  Рік тому +1

      Thank you ! As far as the pencils, how you use them will come down to your personal taste. You’ll likely have some pencils with and H and some with a B. Those marked with the H have harder graphite, which makes softer lines. The ones marked with a B are softer, which deposits more graphite (making darker lines). I personally like the soft pencils, like 4B, 5B, 6B for the shading in my ink doodles. For the blending stumps, you can use the skinny ones when you are shading in tiny spaces and use the fatter stumps when working in larger areas.

    • @betsi_jae
      @betsi_jae  Рік тому +1

      Thank you 😊. Yes, you can use any pencil you’re comfortable with. Sometime I use a 6b pencil, but often I just use a 2HB , which is just a typical school pencil.
