Damn, dude, that sucks. I have the same problem with the CS and Colby was able to tap it for a temporary fix but I’ll need to replace the oil pan soon.
was the car hot/ warm when you put the plug back in? aluminum gets softer even when its just a bit warm, and the stainless steel plug is a much harder metal. it will cut through warm aluminum easily with just a hair too much torque. i always change my oil after a short drive so it drains better, so its hot when i do it. i NEVER use a torque wrench on my drain plug. just snug it and keep an eye for leaks for the next day or two. i have undertightened my plug before and had a very slight leak, but thats a super easy fix obviously. way less of a headache than destroying the threads. just something to keep in mind for the future 💯

This isn’t common. All BMWs oil pans are made like this. I never used a torque wrench, just hand tighten
Is it not possible to put the car in neutral without starting the car while the car is in accessory?
The F8x DCT will not let you go into neutral without starting it or putting it in neutral like I did

@@gbc2348 generally in auto transmissions the fluid pump is driven off the input shaft and in manual transmissions that usually dont have a fluid pump and are lubricated entirely by splashed oil from the input shaft spinning the output shaft without the input shaft spinning is undesirable
