This is so helpful! I got a bbl in 2021 and am getting just lipo in a couple of months. I got pretty bad fibrosis even though I got a lot of massages. Oddly enough what worked was getting Radiofrequency months after my bbl but I had a lot of them and the lady could go over the lumps hard and she basically was able to get rid of them (not recommending this just letting you know what worked for me). For my massages after surgery I really want to go to this lady in Miami that specializes in lymphatic drainage massages and she is licensed. She also treats fibrosis if it has already formed. I’m really glad you mentioned that these massages are light, I always thought they needed to be hard to get liquid out of you. So much valuable information.
I got a bbl in 2021 and I believe I have fibrosis in my lower abdomen. Would you mind sharing the contact info of the woman in Miami you were referring to
Im so glad your video popped up. I had the kind of lader lipo that is like a very hot tool rubbed over the skin. It burned through my navel and I got an infection. I assume the hard lump I have now is fibrosis? For Three three months my abdomen really hurt. The doctor gave me antibiotics. She didn't offer to drain anything... she said she never saw anything like what happened to anyone before. I have a hole in my navel that was dripping smelly liquid but that has stopped. A wound clinic doesn't seem to be very urgent about it. They want to do a CT scan... I just want to know what it is and what are they going to do about it. Should it be removed? And I want to know exactly what it is. I was not told about the massages or compression. The wand thing on the machine was VERY hot and is supposed to melt fat that will be taken away via the limphatic system. I had this done at the end of March and know it's the first of May. With my fingers I guess it's maybe three inches by three inches and possibly two inches thich. Pressing on it hurts (like when the dog jumps up on me). I wonder if this thing should be removed...it seems to be shrinking but I m not sure.
Thank you for explaining this, I had a tummy tuck 10 yrs ago shortly after , my stomach started swelling and getting hard and lumpy , it was only flat during post op. 1 yr. Later I went back and had lipo, My stomach is still rock hard swollen and lumpy , I really am stuck and don’t know where to go from here ?
I had lower abdominal lipo Nov 29. Swelling peaked on Day4, and went down 50% by Day8. But - by Dec11 (Day12) I had a very firm, solid section of full thickness skin over the lower 1/3 of my abdomen. It’s like a half cylinder across my entire lowest abdomen. Now at Day 20, It’s about 3” to 4” top to bottom, and at least 1” thick. Definitely larger than on Day11. I wasn’t told about the need for Lymph Drainage Massage by my surgeon, only by your video around Day 14 when I thought there might be a problem. It became very solid. I’ve have 3 LDMassages and I have 3/ week scheduled. It seems the top layer of thickness is softer, after 3 professional LDM and my own daily massages. We use soft spikes balls and a vibrating roller with heat. Is this already fibrosis? Is it too late ? How long should we keep up this ? Should the LDM therapist continue to be gentle? get more firm ? I understand that people heal at differently rates, but is LDM moot now and we should move on to breaking up the fibrosis ? How hard do I press the spikey ball or Ogee Roller onto my large ridge to break it up ? I don’t want to cause more bruising
Great questions. In order to answer this we would have to do a Virtual evaluation with you to assess and make recommendations. Cal 818-478-9208 to set this up.
I have that hardness as well .. don’t panic it’s literally a part of the healing process as our days have been traumatized . This is the part they don’t tell us about in post op care

I am 5 weeks out from a facelift and my surgeon just told me a few days ago that I have fibrosis. He recommended Profound (radiofrequency) to break up the tissue. I had 1 session. It was hot on my skin and aggravated my rosacea. I will go back every week to have more treatments. Please advise if this is the right course of action. I am devastated as my skin feels very tight and uncomfortable. I believe I got fibrosis from a very tight surgical garment which has left a large indent, also deep tissue massage 4 and 5 days post op. The surgeon also pressed hard on my cheek to drain fluid through the ear insision. Please can you tell me if there is any hope in treating the fibrosis.
@@Michele-xp7pt so radio frequency is indicated for skin tightening, but you don’t wanna do it over fibrosis. It’s like pulling a bedsheet tighter with a golf ball under it. Just makes it look more visible. You need to treat the fibrosis first. Please call us at 818-478-9208. We’d be happy to set up a virtual examine you make sure you’re a candidate and then give you ideas about treatment cost, etc..
Can you talk about incisional drainage that some therapists do (in Miami and other countries). as that’s not manual lymph drainage and how ineffective and dangerous it is.
Very Traumatic. Not conventional post op care that I would recommend to anyone. Can result in lots of other issues including Infections, Hematomas, Seromas, and problems down the line. Always seek a licensed MLD/CLT provider and treatment
@@AspenAfterSurgery thanks for the info for anyone seeking post op lymph drainage massages. There is a lot of misinformation on social media about this.
A lot! The bottom line is these folks usually work illegally out of other countries, come here, claim its whats done there, work cheap, the surgical centers employ them for this reason and the consumer is none the wiser till problems arise.Education is key. @@hfox1203
It also can happen post injury. I had upper neck base of skull injury 5 years ago. Went to lymphatic drainage did nothing for me. The lymph system somehow went right through my whole body from my upper neck and I get swelling in the abdomen and legs and fluid filled ankles. This seems to be more common than realized in post whiplash and head injury. It’s like we get blocked somewhere which might be exactly what you just said fibrosis. How that affects the whole system is still not understood but I can assure you it happens. So how do you get it all flowing again? How do you know where it’s blocked ? And if or how you can help the scar tissue in the upper neck
Definitely not Fibrosis in your case. This is either neurological, vascular, medication, or cardiac based. Follow up with your medical Drs and see if they can give you a better answer. Fibrosis does none of what you described. Good luck
@@AspenAfterSurgerythank you I’ve had multiple imaging scans and bloodwork. It’s scar tissue in the sub occipitals post injury. I just got lipo to my check. I have crazy swelling I was given a long garment which I felt was trapping liquids in my face causing horrendous swelling. Can you please tell me how to proceed before I get fibrosis. I really want my face to go diwn
Compression garments must be fitted perfectly or they can be more dangerous then no garment at all. Google a local post op Plastic Surgery Garment fitter, research reviews and qualifications, and ensure fitting is tight but not occlusive causing pockets or pooling. This can lead to fibrosis.
@ Hmm. Had chin lipo 6 days ago, noticed a lump after day 2, guessing it’s swollen lymph nodes bc it has a shape to it, like the other side which is swollen but not quite as much due to the area being liposuctioned. (Went in to what dr and I thought was seroma, but nothing was draining out)
@@AspenAfterSurgery part 2: I also asked if it could be fibrosis and she said that “takes months, it is too early to form like this.” Since there is no seroma or fluid, likely isnt fibrosis..
