Sometimes I don't see the grey part when I do another key frame. But I figured out that you can turn on "onion skin" so that way you can figure the next drawing
One thing about this software is how easy it is to use. I learned how to use it almost entirely on my own, save for a few search questions. That's just because I'm a computer noob. After watching this tutorial I realized that I'm actually very good at using this software, if I do say so myself, after the mere 7 months I've been using it, and yet I already have made more than half-decent animations to upload to UA-cam. What's astonishing is that I could still get so much better. With just this software I could run an entire channel. What's more astonishing is the fact that you can also add SOUND to your animations. Because of this, it's almost unnecessary to get video editing software at all. Any animation software that nearly takes the place of video editing software is top-tier. Thank you for this video. It's the perfect way to introduce people to animation software and it's great for beginners. I recommend this software for anyone who wants to make animations.

And well chosen portions with a meaningful title that describes the content to the point. Keep up the good work. I hope you will create some more parts in this style.
@ZAVAGE p You need to go to UA-cam studio on computer. Just go to "my channel" on UA-cam, and there will be a button to go to YT studio. Then you can easily upload your videos to UA-cam, but you need a MP4 or MOV format, not a GIF. Its like uploading any other video

One thing I liked about this tutorial is that you pointed out each step with not a lot of optional alternatives for doing the same thing. Sometimes too much info at one time slows the learning comprehension down.

Good question. Yes, on the left side towards the bottom under 'Display', there is an icon for 'Onion Skin Previous Frame' that needs to be clicked. If you can't see the 'Display' section, it might need to be checked in Windows > Display along the top menu.
question: well uhm.. i deleted all of those menu's and i have no idea how to get them back (color, frames, pencils, etc) edit: i deleted all the files and re-installed it and there's still no menus at all edit again: figured it out (im on mac), go to window and start inserting all the things (tools, colors, etc)

Is there a way to add frames at the beginning or in-between another frame? Because its a minor inconvenience that If i need more frames for a scene but I can only add frames at the end.

there are two "Plus" buttons, and one "Minus" button in between these "Plus" buttons on the timeline panel. The "Plus" button to the left adds a new frame, whereas the right "Plus" button duplicates the previous frame into a new frame.
Hi TJ. Your tutorials are really great. Please can you tell me how to select and paste several frames. For instance, if I do a walk cycle of six frames , how can I copy frames 1 to 6 and then paste them onto frames 7 to 13? Thanks a lot.

@ 0:50 you click on the Keys: (+) button and I see on your, you get a new page to draw on and you can still see the previous page. But when I do it, the previous page is completely gone. Can you please show me how you make it so you can see the previous key page like yours does? I google and the official answer from pencil2D is that you're not supposed to see the previous key like you do, so that what I am getting is what is supposed to happen. This doesn't make any sense to me.. so I think either you have an older version with this bug or you set some settings off camera that we don't see.

Does Pencil2D have layers, such as to have a sketch layer? Does it have a magic wand tool? How many types of brushes are there? Does it have a line stabilizer like Krita and Firealpaca? Does it have audio support?
Agh this is annoying. For me(When I try to put the bitmap layer thing on) It says: You are trying to modify a hidden layer! Please select another layer (or make the current layer visible). Can anyone help me, please? I will be truly grateful if anyone could help me(I am on Mac)
Ah ok, now I got it, the right + button dupicates the layer and the left + button adds a clear one! So just be sure to press the one on the left and not the other one

@@victr3d the pclx file does not work for that. you need to export it to movie to make it a mp4.

@sadd666 just press the key O. It will turn the onion skin on and off. It can show up to 6 frames at once.

I love the simplicity of this software, it just lets you draw. Since i'm the type to get overwhelmed by complex drawing apps like photoshop.

my pencil2d won't let me properly animate, when i make a new frame, the old image is still there and not grayed out

Did you select the add key frame button or are you just clicking on where the next frame would be

How'd you enable onion skin
It should be an icon in the panel on the left side. You can turn on onion skin for the previous or next slide.

Good question. Its an icon under 'Display' on the left side. If its not there, you can add it by going to Windows > Display along the top menu.
