I absolutely love this stuff. I think it smashes ECBP lately, but to each their own.
I still think you're right, ECBP seems on the down and LCBP is going up
Big fan of the B523. The last 3 batches have been outstanding IMO. Cheers guys!
I love c922 I have 3 bottles I wasn't a fan of a123 but am excited to try this one
We could not keep it on the shelves at my job. And we keep getting this batch in every month or so for the moment.
Enjoy the content, have a great pour.
"It's not complex " That's it right there. I think it's delicious but it is not complex. ECBP is complex. The 4 to 6 extra years in the barrel make a big difference. For me it is about what mood I am in and if I want sweet LBP is a great choice.
Just scored two bottles of this...the first rip was phenomenal...
My first Larceny BP was A123 which I thought was great, I have to say the B523 was better and I kept hearing the C922 was really great as well and found one two weeks ago, so now I just have to blind them and looking forward to doing it 🥃🥃🥃
C922 was a banger, but A and B from this year are still pretty good.
Poured my B523 last night after watching this video yesterday. Certainly not the most complex pour, but definitely solid. Haven’t found an ECBP B523, but it seems like that line is heading in the wrong direction while LBP is heading up
I ❤ all the LBPs. Wish I could get them on the regular.
B521 was my favorite. Top 5 for me no doubt. And Sean its the sweetened condensed milk to make caramel.
B523 was my first Larceny. I’m a fan.
A friend and I put b523 against Stagg 22a. Although different profiles we could not decide which 1 we liked more. Both are great.... But larceny is half the price.
"This smells like fat kid whiskey" is the best taste profile I have ever heard in my life!!
Twix is the only one with the cookie crunch
Ultra rare that I post comments on UA-cam but I really didn't like Dan's take/attitude on this review!! This is an almost nut-less Larceny perfection and so full of sweetness!! It seemed to me that he was going on auto-pilot saying Larceny = very nutty = meh. I'm pretty sure that he would like it much better in a blind. Please Sean, serve this to him in a couple of months!! #nonutssquad
Just picked up one, there was a row of them sitting there at Total Wine, the 92 proof Larceny was almost out but the B523 was collecting dust. I love finding these premium releases that nobody seems to pay attention to in my area.🥃
Still trying to locate a B523, love the C922.
Still waiting myself. I don't believe they exist yet.
Dan, random I know, but I just bought two bottles of WB Saffel solely on your thoughts / prospects of it. Cheers to you dude.
I have ECBP A123 and Larceny BP B523, first of either I’ve ever had. General consensus from the public is that particular ECBP isn’t great, and that LBP is awesome. I like the ECBP much better between them
I've had two ECBP and this is the first Larceny BP I've had. I like ECBP way better
Huh? A123 is one of the highest regarded ECBP batches ever.
@@masattac Is it? Cause the people who made this very video we're commenting on said they thought it was mid. I've seen a lot of channels say it was fine, they all go back to B520 or something older. But if there are more people I haven't seen who are singing A123's praises then that's great because I love it too
Just picked up the LBP C923 and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. 🤟😁
My favorite of all time was B522 followed by C922.. Sounds Delicious!! Been sick of cinnamon notes on my Bourbon..
Dulce de leche is so good, worth the time it takes to make!
My favorite of all time was B522 followed by C922.
A124 for $55 this week. Can't wait to try it
Gotta try it again after it opens up a bit
I have a bottle of c922 and it is one of my favorite open bottles right now.
I will have to keep a look out for this one
I agree with Dan’s off the rip reaction but I still Side with Sean’s pallet, But Dan’s grade on this. Lol
Off the rip, first nose of this was fantastic but it pales quick after that. I don’t get the same reaction to it as I keep drinking it. I think that’s been what’s bugging me about this bottle. 🤔 off the rip was awesome. But as I keep drinking it, it’s just solid B whiskey. Good price point.
Yeah C922 was a hitter. But first 2 from 23 are good too.
Holy crap you ARE the Bourbon Junkies! Apparently you need a cabinet back there just full of candy bars now.
Came for the long pour. Stayed for the review.
HOW TO MAKE CARAMEL/DULCE DE LECHE IN A CAN (3 METHODS)
INGREDIENTS:
14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
DIRECTIONS:
REMOVING THE LABEL FOR INSTANT POT OR STOVETOP METHODS:
Remove the label from the sealed can of sweetened condensed milk. Spray the sticky adhesive on the can with Goo Gone or other residue removing product and let it sit for 5 minutes. Use a paper towel to rub away any remaining adhesive, be sure to remove it all. Wash the can with soap and water and run your fingers around the can to make sure you’ve gotten all the adhesive off of the can.
STOVETOP METHOD:
1. Remove the label as directed above. Use a can opener to open the sweetened condensed milk about 90% open. Arrange the lid so that it’s raised about 30° from horizontal. Place a small 5 or 6 inch rag or old dishtowel in the bottom of a small saucepan. Place the can on top of the rag so that it’s even in the pan and doesn’t wobble. Fill the pan with water so that it reaches about ¾ way up the can. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat to medium simmer.
2. Cook the sweetened condensed milk for 2 ½ to 3 hours, adding more water every 15-20 minutes to maintain the same level of water in the saucepan, so that it’s always reaching about 3/4 of the way up the can. (The top of the condensed milk may not change colors as it cooks, but underneath that top layer, it is gently cooking.)
3. Hold a pair of tongs in one hand and a dry dish towel in the other. Carefully lift the can of dulce de leche with the tongs and quickly place the dishtowel under the can to support it. Place the can on the counter and let it cool for a few minutes until you can safely touch the top of the can. When it’s cool, lift the lid to vertical and use a spoon to stir the contents of the can until it’s well blended. It’s very hot and almost molten after it’s done cooking, so don’t just lick the spoon immediately - or you’ll get burned.
4.Transfer the dulce de leche to an airtight storage container and refrigerate until ready to use.
INSTANT POT METHOD:
1. Remove the label as directed above. Place a small dish towel in the bottom of the Instant Pot. Place the can on top of the towel on it’s side, not sitting up. Add cold water to the Instant pot until it covers the can by one inch. Be sure not to fill the pot higher than the Maximum allowable level.
2. Seal the lid onto the Instant Pot and pressure cook on high for 40 minutes. Let the pressure release naturally.
3. Remove the can from the water with a pair of tongs and set aside to cool to room temperature. When you’re ready to use the Dulce de leche, open the can. Note: it doesn’t need to be refrigerated until the can is opened. It will last for months like this.
OVEN METHOD:
1. Preheat the oven to 425°. Transfer the sweetened condensed milk to a 9″ deep dish pie plate (glass or ceramic) and cover tightly with tin foil.
2. Place the pie plate in a larger roasting pan with high sides. Add hot water to the roasting pan being particularly careful not to splash water on the foil or into the sweetened condensed milk. Tuck the ends of the foil up tightly under the rim of the pan so that the foil doesn’t rest in the water.
3. Bake in the water bath for 2 hours. Carefully remove the roasting pan from the oven and set aside. When the water in the pan has cooled enough to handle, remove the pie plate from the water bath. Discard the tin foil and use a whisk to stir the dulce de leche until it’s creamy and smooth. Transfer to a glass jar or other well sealed container. Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate.
I hope you copy and pasted all that
@@BourbonJunkies copy, paste, modify. Like most things I do
Payday is one of my favorite candies, I will have to try and find this one!
Imagine being on the wrong side of history on batch B523. HAHA j/k... always enjoy your honest perspective.
This one effin slaps. So damn good
I think I'm just easy to please cause I've bought 2 or 3 bottles each of the last 5 LBP and ECBP and just loved em all. I started late 2021 so I got all 3 (A,B,and C) of both last year and both (A and B) of both so far this year and I just CRUSH them. If I could afford more it'd be all I drank. Larceny kills all Makers and Wellerz for me. Best wheated easy.
Big fan of larceny, especially the Barrel Proof.
Just lucked out and found two Larceny C922s but had to buy 2 regular Larceny’s with them.
Nothing better than the boys talkin about what type of nuts they’re tastin
I love me some Larceny BP but, I'd rather spend the extra 40-40 and get the new 2Xo
Oddly, I now get these regularly when they were nowhere to be found a two years ago. I've got at least an opened bottle of all of these for the past 6 releases and for ECBP, most of the releases from 17 onward. I like ECBP more, generally, than these but recently it's been a harder match up.
The price of these bottles varies so much from store to store. Insane.
A local place wants like 80 bucks but another just down the street was doing a sale for $50. At $50 the B523 is a damned good bottle.
@@yrogergamezor $50 is a great price. I picked up a bottle for $70. Haven’t seen it that cheap since.
Sounds Delicious!!
Been sick of cinnamon notes on my Bourbon.
There’s a little liquor store in southern Florida that sells the regular Larceny at around $30 and the barrel proof at $120. Kind of nuts. I wish there was a way to just remove some of the water they added to the non-barrel proof to attain barrel proof proof. Get crackin’!!
Sean turning into Sloth for a second there. "Baby, Baby Ruth. Ruth."
This is a good batch. I really enjoy it.
b522 > c922 > country mile > b523 -- (something grassy in the flavor here thats not in the other two batches)
short answer: YES!!
Salted Nut Roll has the nougat center so would be a better descriptor than a payday
it's sweetened condensed milk and boil it in the can
I just bought this stuff for 60 bucks in an expensive part of town. I thought the price was supposed to go up
Payday bars definitely have nougat. Baby Ruth is just Payday with chocolate.
Snagging me another one of these after work. 🥃
COOKIE BATE AND SWITCH!
I have three batches and haven’t opened any of them yet 😂. Try n to get some buddy’s together to compare them all.
I had a pour of the A batch at a restaurant and thought it was fruity and delicious. I heard this one was better so I picked it up. Haven’t cracked it yet, hopefully it’s better than what I just saw. Haha!! 😆
Very fruity to me. I like it.
Clickbate video thumbnail. Where is the cookie cat?
Not surprised Vampire is a milkyway fan... he probably likes some dry white toast too...
1 open and 3 backups. These will go quick
Same!
I think that C922 is a bit better and slightly more complex. However, B523 is what you guys think, not very complex, sweet, and about a “B” to “B+”
But where is Cookie
Define better..lol. the small batch is absolutely the worst bottle I own.. that and Willett potstill..lol.. never had the Barrel proof but afraid to after having the horrid small batch.. that tastes like sharpie and erasers
Where’s the cyoot black cat in the title ?
Some of these Larceny barrel proofs are just too hot for me to drink straight (127 proof just shreds my esophagus), so it’s always a science project for me to determine the optimal amount of water to add per pour.
Ima fan of LBP’s.
It's always been good, y'all just catching up 😂
They actually make chocolate covered pay days now. Way more peanuts than there is in a pay day than a babe ruth
I remember the chocolate covered Paydays back in the 80s when I was a kid. I remember they had a brown wrapper .Didn't know they still made them. I haven't seen them since the 80s for sure. They might be more localized product. Like southern states only, or western States only... I'd love to have one again
@@BoozeandNewswithTimandDut yeah they like re-released them, we have them in Arkansas.
@@nakedheath that's awesome! I'm gonna keep an eye out
I feel the line of demarcation between Joels (little and big) is becoming increasingly blurred.
I got Banana nut bread on my B523
waiting for this to drop in Ohio!!!
Did Dan get a mismatch rug on his dome
Can we get an episode of what y'all drink on the regular?
Anyone remember which batch of the Larceny they had last that they enjoyed so much? I remember watching the video just can't find it.
C922 pretty sure
Not sure if the bottle is any good. Cant find them.😢
Larceny or Penelope Barrel Strength Toasted?
Are the Old Carters any good?
Nutty, like Dickel?
Is it better than those purple and teal bottles behind you on the shelf?
Yea those stink!
I traded my b523 for a back up of b522 as that was my fav batch from last year. Totally agree it’s very good, not great.
They make a chocolate covered payday and it’s glorious
Dan long pour math is the same as fisherman logic
Of course it is...settle 😂. 🥃from 🇨🇦
In fairness yes I think Dan hopes that’s 18 inches 😂
Baby Ruth doesn't have peanuts in it.
Baby Ruth DEFINITELY have peanuts. 100%
Lol, yeah I was thinking of Butterfinger.
The betrayal I feel from getting clickbated by Cookie, is immense.
Come on man......my name isn't on the BourbonJunkie list again?
Don’t pay over $75 for any LBP
c923 is alot better
You know, I'm not there, but I think it might smell like bourbon.
Baby Ruth has nuget
Dan is sensitive to nuts.
This is a “buy” batch especially for the money.
milky way is hot garbage.. I would take any candy bar before a milky way
