A useful post for many aspiring students👍 Happy to hear that in recent days there has been a lot more attention coming in the field of veterinary medicine. I can understand the difficulty of justifying why Vet medicine is a financially secure and feasible option. And, I can imagine the questions like "are you not gonna be a real doctor". Like you said the statements surrounding this notion of vet medicine is being primitive compare to human medicine. Both the programs are similar in hardness and vehemence I presume. While Med students learn about more diseases and types of testing, you guys have to learn different ones for each species. Most of the humans will be able to tell what's wrong, however, a Vet has to fathom why there is a behavioural change/ change in eating habits or why they are doing certain actions. It's emotionally very hard on Vets because many people do not value animals lives as much as they would a human. The pet owners can't pay for services that would easily fix an animal’s problem as they don't have a universal health insurance . Another emotional and complex thing Vets have to face is Euthanasia. It is an emotionally difficult thing to perform and it can be an overwhelming practice sometimes. If they handle it poorly they are more likely to go into depression, if not, they are less likely to go into depression. Still, why general doctors get paid 2 times what Vets get for the same level of difficulty and education! Is it still not considered as same level of services! Like you said we need to push the future generations in to fields of nobility, selflessness and and heartfulness and we need to push them to do what they love and convert their passion into purpose. Whatever the field may be. The people who have devoted their lives shouldn't struggle to be valued... Thanks for sharing the video Div 👍
