Maybe if you can't get players to celebrate John's birthday or his memorial, you can bring some recorded backing (instrumental)tracks,play them from a cell phone patched to a small portable battery speaker(YT has a bunch of really good isolated tracks you can use), get a few of your friends gathered to join you on the vocals & who knows, it could be start of something nice that grows into something else. Just a thought amigo. All you need is the will, a cool spot & the love for the music - I know you have already. Take care & good luck !

Not to be party pooper here, but this entire piece was written by Paul and John said about it in an interview that he thought it was rubbish. This just goes to demonstrate how complex Pauls writing had progressed from "She Loves You"! No shot at John here, it's just that this entire piece is Paul and John didn't like it.
Think John did Because, Mean Mr. Mustard and Polythene Pam...Because may be the only song attributed to all of them though. John heard Yoko playing Moonlight Sonata and it inspired Because.
John did several pieces of the medley George Martin was a key in assembling it from Paul’s idea, and the entire band worked on the transitions between songs. Paul was the driving force, but it was a total band effort despite John’s comments after.
