  • Not gonna lie, I was really touched when I first heard this piece. There was something about it. The melody resonated with me. You know, even though how much you try, there are some stuff that you simply cannot run away from. One being the culture around you. Even though I spent most of my childhood online, trying to learn and understand English, the Western culture, philosophy and whatnot. Spending too much time online as a kid shaped the way I think today. The way I live my life, the way I behave. But as I said, there was a time period during which I had no access to the internet, or the English speaking world in general. Something in this melody unraveled some emotions I had from that time. This is originally a Persian melody, composed during the time of the Ottoman Empire. Because of the Ottoman Empire, Persian and Turkish cultures were a bit intertwined. So some of our melodies are similar to each other. As most of my friends know, I am not really interested in Turkish history and culture in general. But that kid grew up in that environment and in that culture. That’s why I believe this piece was so touching for me.
I really enjoyed playing this one. I hope you enjoy listening to it as well. As always, thanks for watching.

Great cover! It’s also nice to learn about the song’s background for you
