Like you, I was able to get my poinsettias to last from the previous Christmas to this year's. But with these few cold days down near the freezing mark, they are weathering the nights in the shed where it is considerably warmer than the outside. So far so good. Stay warm, Steve and Karen.

I see you are still having motor issues 😓I hope you can figure it out, then again, maybe the boat doesn't want to go to the colder climate like you said. Back tracing that issue shouldn't be too difficult since Steve knows the boat like the back of his hand. I'm hoping it's just a clamp that wiggled free from all the vibrations of deck dancing. I adore that!! As for those bikini's, I'm somewhat shocked you haven't designed and sewn one yet Karen with all that knowledge you have. Question, do you have to disconnect the motor every time, or can you leave them both together? No question is a dumb question. Just trying to get it a load of knowledge
Not a dumb question at all, Rawhidecowboy. We prefer to bring the dinghy and motor up separately because we worry about the weight on the transom. It could probably handle it; but we just feel better not trying that. Also, at times we don't raise the dingy and often we will leave the motor on so she's ready to go again. I hope that helps. 😘❤️

@@sailingintermission Most of the US is colder than usual and especially colder when compared to last year. In Michigan we do not have any concerns with fires like what they have in LA but we are getting up to 4" of snow and that keeps wildfires to a minimum. Be careful in your travels.

@@sailingintermission its floating in a lonely state, still rady for storms i aint messing with it till i haul it out in 6 months , right now im building funds up for that move.. i check on it once a week or two lol it aint fun rite now, dock/ slip has no electric or water, all 8 of my house batteries are kinda dead, lost all solar power in storms. the boat has all the sails inside so no room to play in it, planning on replacing with boom furl systems , looking at a whole refit of electronics, it has all very old shit right now.. lol its a 1977 boat that ill be turning into a 2025 starship enterprise kinda thing.. i love gagets, and gizmos, switches ,buttons.and high tech shit...lol its cold up here so no out side activity for me.. hybernating and saving monies is my winter plan..lol and yes i about lost all my tan sjin to off white.. so embarrasaing, but its salt life caint wait to sail to warmer weather..

We did. This is our 5th boat. Never too late to start, but boats can be a handful not only sailing but with maintenance.
