get another box of Ron Greet, the 1,2,3,4 section is in the front and will just unbolt from the rear section after you take out the pto input shaft, it may be on of the selector arms on top of the gearbox, take out the mat and unbolt the tinwork, will be two selector arms coming out the top 1 for 1st and 2nd the other for 3rd anf 4th, easy tractor to work on, Tell mike, a Cornishman would have that put right in an afternoon
@@finditfixitfarmit won't get too heavily into the devon/Cornwall thing, my mother was a Luscombe from the south hams area. Back to the gearbox, there are only two moving parts to it,you have 4 gears in constant mesh, a sliding synchro to engage 1 or 2 and another sliding synchro to engage 3 or 4, if you take the lid off all will become apparent, very simple and reliable box, never known any issue with them in the 50 years I've run them, doubt there will be any shards in there
@@bufferbridge thank you mate, really appreciate the insight. We may look into it further, I have a lot of fresh machines coming in so not the top of the list, but may set Mike on it when we are quieter unless it goes to Auction prior. Love a bit of Devon/Cornwall banter 😂😂
I used find the low into high gears could be troublesome, lever wouldn’t slide easily into high ,had take covers off and manually line up plates where lever sits.Only fault I had with international tractors with that gearbox, engines were good !
Hi . I’m an Irish man in San Francisco 25 years . Just found your u tube channel . Absolutely love it. . I drove a lot off fords years ago . The blow is fine . Nothing wrong with that tractor . U will know when the are burnt out . The drip oil bad from the blow pipe . . Not sure are u familiar with the fords She can split all the gears . Button. On the dash . Iff u put bigger wheels on the back and 1000 wheels on the front . U wouldn’t know that tractor . Its value will go way way up
ih were dependable daily yard tractors BUT taking cab n diesel tank off for gearbox explorations and whatever else you find- mate had a 885l on a big quickie loader other than loading stone with the loader our little db’s clocked more hrs biggest problem was there was a big gap between the back of the bucket and the front wheels and just made it clumsy when it came to traction
I have to smile at Mike , every new project that he's confronted with he grunts and passes some sarcastic comments as he walks round them and then gets on with the job , what a legend James .
even when they were working , they were an unreliable uncomfortable place to spend a day .......on the flip side they were a step up from a horse and cart ....just .....! we had a 674 ...........so I can fully agree with mike ...!
Never knew the door opened towards rear tyres , Loved the 574s & 674s . A real shame I would have removed the loader ASAP and rebuilt it slowly Its going to cost that and double . Beautiful tractors too .
After initially driving one built in the 50's, with no door, windows and half the floor missing. It was amazing to get one with all the creature comforts!
I grew up with a 784 with a loader. I think that was the series made before this one but very similar. It was a very reliable tractor except the front wheel bearings went out often
I have an international tractor maybe worth having a look in the top of the gear box to check everything’s in line because I had mine jump out of gear once and lost a couple gears moved some stuff around and works a treat
The first machine I learnt to drive was the news version of that case brand new one that was in 1988 two wheel as well i was 12 years old then lots of good memories helping my dad he was a stockman on a local farm 😂
Hi James + Mike, Oh deer a few problems on the Case, a new gear box and a new belt for the alternator, you might have the parts in your stores. Hope you can sort it out, Take care
I bought a newholland 8360 a couple of years ago which turned out to be a load of grief. Person selling it said it had around 10k hours on the broken clock but when I lifted the tool box inside it said serviced at just over 20k hours
Hi James & Mike 🤞🤞brake even when you move it on I have a MF 35 industrial that is a bigger project than I was thinking 😒 still in the workshop part done waiting for the time & enthusiasm Thanks again
I've got a Gooloo GP4000 (I think the same model here), great little thing, I'll get multiple jump starts off a charge. Tractors have never turned over so fast starting!
@@finditfixitfarmit i just think need retireing from a loader not fair on a tractor that old hasnt been looked after from bad acsessability with loader in the way
i bet the gear box is full of gold and metal filings and hardly any oil in it as the lower is very slow to do any thing shame looks a good old tractor but how you think you could of done a few jobs and made a profit on it at that that's strong money for a good working tractor that you payed for it so nothing left in it just a waste of time & you tube money

Haha, maybe. Mikes reply “I didn’t know Cornwall had diesel technology yet, thought they were still on steam power”

Don’t write it off too quickly James!! - there’s a good tractor going on there! Well worth spending some time and money on.😊

Don't know about Case tractors, but their excavators are excellent in my experience! Used one in a clay quarry years ago, and it was superb!
Yeah nice diggers for sure 👍🏼

Don't give up on it yet, a check out how much a gearbox is for it, she sounds sweet, be a shame not to try
I do agree, but the Mikes time will cost me

This one is 1993 👍🏼
I thought that was the older version I stand corrected😂😂😅
Cheers for your honesty! Being from Devon too, never heard of those words🤣
Best way mate 👍🏼 he is a dictionary of knowledge and useless information 😂
Good job mikes got plenty of enthusiasm anyway
Enthusiasm is his middle name!
Hi James + Mike, Oh deer a few problems on the Case, a new gear box and a new belt for the alternator, you might have the parts in your stores. Hope you can sort it out, Take care
Hmmm I’m not convinced yet haha thanks Shaun

It happens in the game unfortunately 🤦🏻♂️
the gearbox is probabley screwed from being a loader tractor and lack of maintenance due to hard sacsess with the loader on it
Could be 😂
I'd say lift the pannel between your legs and you'll see the gear linkage, may just be wear in the linkage causing it not to engage properly
Yeah, Mike is pretty sure it’s more than just gear linkage. I may ask him to have a look though haha.
Looks like a Cameron Gardener loader. We had them fitted to our local council International tractors
Could well be 👍🏼

Yeah hopefully 😂 enthusiasm is the hardest part 👍🏼
A very good Monday evening to you all
And to you good sir 👍🏼
I like an international harvester as my granda has an ih 684. I personally don't like the tractors after case and ih merged.
That’s a Cameron Gardner loader off a case 248 industrial
Love magic Mike one liners😂
If only I could put them all in a video 😂
The 674 were a great tractor in their day
in fairness they were a big step up from a horse and cart ................!
Marty T would sort it out i have no doubt. Unfortunately he is a bit far away (nearly as far away as he could be) in the Marlborough Sounds.
For that money I would sort it out got to be worth 8 grand once sorted out great little loader tractor
Pay me 5 and you can still make a profit 😉
If I could I would
Mike is like the James May of Devon.
James May & Gerald from Clarkson’s farms love child 😂
Now you would have thought who ever sold it they would mention it had problems with the gear box, hope you don't make a big loss on this one James 👍👍
It happens unfortunately in this game. It’s ok as long as you don’t get a run of them 👍🏼
Make a good enough little tractor for pushing up top in the woods to burn. Interesting
It’s for sale 😅
just realised you didnt put the loader back on the ford
Still have it and it will go back on prior to sale 👍🏼
I would flush gear box..and check the bush....
Mike would happily do the second job 💪🏽

yure.... what that battery booster jobbie?? thik little un'.?
I were shocked you got 1 start let alone 2.

cheers 👌
Was it expensive
£3500
Hi James, just buy Mike a cardboard box and a zippo lighter that’s the best thing for case 695 horrible gear box anyway 👍
If I asked him, he would happily 😂
Shame is it not worth fixing? Seems plenty of money in it still tho🤷♂️
We know Mike only works for ❤ so it's just the £'s for the parts 😂
Haha, the bloke earns the same as a sea captain, so can be a bit salty some days 😂🤦🏻♂️
Where's Mike from? I cant place his accent🤔
Very much Devon 😂😂
Stay away from the red stuff just buy blue 😎
Unless it’s a Same 😂
i think sell the ford take loader off case and fix case for the farm
