Sara Elizabeth hey are you still moving out if classes stay online?
Well once you find a roommate through the roommate application process you will be assigned your room in mid July I believe. But with housing you don’t always get what you asked for, there is a chance you can be put in another dorm building so try and make sure the roommate you find also put Riverview as their top choice, you will have a better chance of getting into that hall. I know some cases where both student put Riverview as their top choice and still didn’t get it. If that happens you can switch rooms during the room swap time. Hope this helps!

Since I am about to transfer here and most likely am looking into living in a dorm myself. Also I wanted to ask if you choose to live on campus, do you get a choice of having room mate while living on campus?
Thank you ! I chose to live on campus for my first year so that I could get the full college experience, sac state is a commuter school so you don’t have to live on campus. And yes there was a portal where you could meet roommates and plan to room with them, if you don’t chose your roommate the school will assign you one!
I’ll be attending sac state this fall, since you are dorming what meal plan do you have? & is there a way I can contact you I have so many questions lol !
Hello, first semester I had the gold plan but after I stopped going to the dining commons I wasn’t spending my points as fast so I was stuck with a lot left over so second semester I switched down to the green plan! And regarding your questions you can ask them to me here through the comments because others might have similar questions as well or DM me on my Instagram (@luvlantiss) if your questions are personal!
Don’t you have a kitchen in the dorm? Why don’t you use the fridge etc there?:)
Each floor has a kitchen but only the first floor has a refrigerator so it would be challenging to share that 1 fridge with hundreds of students in the dorm. plus I wouldn’t want to risk anyone taking my food lol. But I definitely go to the kitchen to cook my food on the stove/ oven!

My question to everyone in the comments, are y’all moving out if classes stay online? I’m confused on whether to move or not with this going on?
they’re saying they plan to have at least 50 percent of students and staff on campus for the fall. i still plan on moving as of right now but if they go back to online i wouldn’t go

If you are referring to the honors program, no you don’t have to be apart of that to be considered for Riverview. Majority of the students in the hall were not in the program lol.

Is sac state a dry campus? Also does it get lit in the dorms? lol
Lmao. Honestly the campus is really fun there’s always activities and sports going on. Once you make friends on campus the dorms become fun too. Everyone’s friends from different dorms will come hangout and listen music and just have chill or have little parties in the dorms. I lived across from football players in Riverview so we would put a big speaker in the middle of the hall between our doors and just sit in the hallway, listen to music and talk to people as they walked by and stuff. We would usually do that after classes and usually on the weekends before and after parties that’s when the most people are floating through the halls which is how you can meet a lot of friends. That was also bc our RA was super chill that’s not the case in the other halls.
I’m curious if the bed is your roommates or is it yours?
The pink bed with the grey headboard I showed was my bed... the other one in the corner was my roommates..
How much is the rent for the dorm?
There are 3+ different room types depending on what year you are and the prices are different for all, if you go to the sac state housing website and look for the Housing and Meal Cost pdf it will show you all the exact prices !

If you have Financial Aid.. the money is automatically taken out (tuition first then housing ).. if you owe for housing still they will tell you how much is due and the dates I believe it was like every 2 months but you may want to call and double check!

Lmaoo there’s a good amount of black people. in my classes there was majority other races and maybe 2-4 black ppl in each of my classes. But outside of classes I was around black ppl 75% of the time.. I went to black frat parties and other parties I knew were hosted by black people 😂 so it was coo. some older people in the black student union made a group chat for us before we had actually got to school and all of the black people were posted on the Instagram page and stuff so a lot of us knew each other from there. & i’m still cool with a lot of them!
