    excellent video series... Very informative. I play craps whenever I visit Vegas and now I finally understand all of the bets. Also, Angela is an absolute delight. She's always smiling and upbeat. If she's still dealing I would love to play at her table.

    I've seen the Dice Dominator Dominic LoRiggio shoot over 100 throws before sevening out, back in 2016 at the Aria. Dice control is a way of shooting to avoid and prolong the appearance of a seven, since probability says a 7 should roll once every six rolls. It's not full proof but if you practice at home you can get really good at it. I use a 3V dice set and my last roll at NYNY Las Vegas I rolled 30 numbers before a 7.

    Got 3 questions: 1) if you have received chips and notice that you have to throw left handed can you move to another position. 2) how do you determine if table is cold (play dark). Play only pass line how many times before making determination to play dark. 3) if you place 6 and 8 bets and they don't pop on dice around a table of shooters...stop playing?

    • @russlehman2070
      @russlehman2070 3 роки тому

      You don't have to throw left handed. You can toss the dice backhanded with your right hand. You're allowed to move to a different spot as long as there is a spot open.

      There is never a time when the table is 'cold' or 'hot' that should decide if you are playing dark or not. Sometimes you have a good streak, sometimes you are making points and craping out.

    Regarding the 'Biased Dice' conspiracy, I recall a line that goes something like, "The more people involved in a conspiracy, the less likely it is to work." To keep that many people from saying something, coming forward with evidence, or something similar. I agree with Mike on this one, highly unlikely that it goes very far. I'll give that a few casinos may be using unfair dice, but the vast majority aren't going to be.

    • @oliwa09
      @oliwa09 8 років тому +5

      @Kwiatekbe But it's even more simpler than that. There is no need for such a grand conspiracy when the house has odds, no matter how big or small, if the house has odds and people play the game, they win. The idea comes from people thinking as an individual, the casino has these bias dice to beat ME, to ensure that MY roll loses. The fact is, you can win 1000% of what you came in with, to the casino, they'll get that back and more from the other 5,000(or whatever number) patrons who paid that day.
      They already have a build in 'bias' with the odds, no need to complicate it with a grand dice conspiracy.

    • @bill1957111
      @bill1957111 7 років тому +3

      I agree with you also. Besides, the casino already has the edge. There's no reason for them to use loaded dice or whatever "they're" saying the casino is doing. They don't want to lose their license

    • @userac-xpg
      @userac-xpg 6 років тому +1

      you would think that, but in the real world corporations get greedy and casinos are corporations. They don't have to cheat people, but if they can get away with it and make more money they might do it. Just like a bar can over serve people to make more money even though they could technically lose their license, it happens every day and I haven't heard of any bar being held responsible for any of the thousands of duis that happen daily.

    • @jamespfp
      @jamespfp 6 років тому +2

      RE: the half life of conspiracies; the basic rule is very simple. The more people involved in a conspiracy, the more likely that betrayal among the members of the conspiracy will result in it self-destructing. In other words, Backstabbing is Endemic and unavoidable if there's more than 4 or 5 people involved. It is therefore also impossible for the conspiracy to remain secret if it passes this Low bar, 5 people.
      There's another way to look at this -- factorials. If you're in a group of people with more than 5 members, there will be over 100 permutations in which the other members can be against little old you. It is basically impossible to cover every possible permutation, and thus only a matter of time until one of the permutations wins. Since the basic rule of casino gambling is "the house always wins" (which Michael expresses as the House Advantage) there's next to no reason for the dice to be loaded to be more in favor of the House than they already are.
      *AND* this is why Don't Pass and Don't Come bets require poker faces.

    You say never to make a pass line bet after the come out roll, but what if the casino is offering 100x odds. If you were playing on a $5 table Would it not actually lower the house edge by placing a $5 after a point has been established and backing it up with $500 in odds. Just wandering?

    • @gregkelton81
      @gregkelton81 5 років тому +1

      With huge odds like that, it isn't too bad to do that. The difference in house edge would be pretty small.
      That said, why not just make a come bet in that situation and the place odds on the come? That way you dont miss the possibility of winning on the come out.

      M1dnightSun Absolutely not! Much more likely they are smart enough not to attract much attention by not being greedy. Think about it like this, if u walk into a casino and leave with $1000 nobody will blink an eye because it happens all the time. But if you leave with $80,000 they will NEVER forgot you. These guys who are dice masters if they are smart will keep their winnings low and rotate their victims going from casino to casino never winning too much at any one place. I think its very likely there are dice throwers out there doing that now. Although they are very rare.

    • @M1dnightSun
      @M1dnightSun 8 років тому

      ***** Wonder how much they charge to tag along and bet with them. Anyways, I'm skeptical like the Wizard. The fact that the dice have to bounce off the far wall makes it random.

    • @JayB2
      @JayB2 8 років тому +2

      M1dnightSun I dont blame you for being skeptical. But keep this in mind, in the game of craps its not about being able to roll a specific number as much as it is to not roll a "7". The average craps player rolls a 7 once every 6 throws. There are pro dice throwers who have averaged as low as rolling a 7 once every 35 throws. U ask how are they doing it? Go watch the link i inluded before, it is very possible. But just like everything else in life it takes an extremely talented and dedicated player to reach that level.

      If you don't have a new come bet (still in the "Come area in the middle), the come bet on a point comes down automatically. If you do have a new come bet, it moves to the number, and the dealer will say "off and on for X dollars", leave the chips on the number and pay you the winnings .

    every casino I've been in has viewed the Pass Line bet after the point is established as Placing the Point and treated it as such.
    e.g. pays 9

    • @russlehman2070
      @russlehman2070 3 роки тому

      A place bet on the point is made by putting the chips on the line between the pass line area and the odds area.

  • @dennisristow2102
    @dennisristow2102 7 років тому +1

    When placing odds behind your pass line bet, I've noticed that you're supposed to put "even" odds for the 5 and 9 numbers. If you're at a $5 table, and only place $5 odds on the 5 or 9, they round down the 3:2 payout. In Blackjack you're allowed to double for less if you don't want to pull out more money and just bet whatever you have left on the table. Does the same concept apply for your odds bets? If you walk up with just $100 and you work down to only $15 left and you place $10 on your Pass line, could you play your remaining $5 in odds?

    • @danjones2164
      @danjones2164 7 років тому

      Dennis Ristow The industry standard is that there are no $.50 cheques or $2.50 cheques on the table so when you make an odd dollar amount odds bet on the 5&9 they will round down. So your $15 bet will be paid $22 instead of $22.50 and that’s why the dealers will suggest you make your odds even. In the end it’s up to you.

    • @dennisristow2102
      @dennisristow2102 7 років тому

      I think I confused my own question by bringing up the 5 and 9 number payouts of 3:2. The question was meant to ask can you place less than your Pass Line bet for Odds?
      Let's say the Point is 10 paying odds of 2:1. I have $10 Pass Line but only $5 left to bet on a $10 table minimum. Could I put down the remaining $5 I have behind the Pass Line, knowing I'd only make $10 (2x $5 odds bet)? More simply, does the Odds bet have to at least also be the table minimum? In Blackjack you can double for less so that's my question, can you play Odds for less than table minimums?
      Thanks

    • @danjones2164
      @danjones2164 7 років тому

      Dennis Ristow I don’t see why they why a casino wouldn’t allow that since the odds bet is the best bet in the casino.

    • @dennisristow2102
      @dennisristow2102 7 років тому

      In a couple months I'll be doing the annual trek to Vegas and I'll ask the table crew to confirm but I agree with you that odds being at the player's discretion should be whatever the player wants to lay down. It's not the ideal bet certainly, but if you are responsible to gamble with a budget and not the mortgage, then if that's all you want to put down, I would think/hope that you can.

    • @russlehman2070
      @russlehman2070 3 роки тому

      I've never actually tried to make an odds bet for less than the pass line bet, nor do I remembe seeing anybody else try it, so I don't know if that's allowed or not. That is likely to be something that varies from one casino to another.

  • @supraman215
    @supraman215 8 років тому

    Why not hedge? Maybe with one big DC bet. You're winning here and there with the other bets, it's not like BJ where you win or lose everything with every hand. You win with the come bets and line, and you have one DC number so when you hit that you lose your DC but you keep everything else on the table, and when you hit with 7 you have some downside protection if everything is removed.

    • @oliwa09
      @oliwa09 8 років тому +1

      @Jeff Wheeler this mindset is one of someone who thinks they'll lose (which is statistically more likely) but it's not a mindset of someone looking to win.
      Think of hedge betting with something more basic. I flip a coin, you can bet heads or tails, the odds pay 0.9:1. Giving me, the house, a slight odds advantage. (and easy math)
      Taking a hedge here would be similar to betting like $10 on heads and $5 on tails. On Heads you win net $4. On tails you lose net $4.50. So basically betting $15 total to either win $4 or lose $4.50.
      Whereas, if you bet $15 on heads only, you will win net $14.50 and on tails you lose net $15.
      So if you think about it, it's the same 'spread' of $0.50 per win/lose based on the house odds and the fact that the favorable outcome is 50/50 on a coin toss, but by hedging, you are spending more money to win less per win.
      If you are hedge betting with someone that pays much larger than 1:1, the favorable outcome of that would be much less and therefore you'd be statistically spending more on that big bet hedge than you'll get back from it, effectively bringing your individual bet house odds even higher.
      If you'd like to risk less money per 'spin', 'roll', 'flip', 'round' or whatever, just bet less or play a different game with lower minimum bets.
      I hope this makes sense,

      A lot of craps players take the superstition about not saying "seven" out loud very seriously.
